A really nice house in a quiet location on a huge plot. The owner lives next door, he is very friendly and helpful. We felt very well and in good hands. The house is ideal for exploring Bristol, Barth, Oxford, Stonehenge, Cardiff or Downton Abby (Highclere Castle) just to name a few. The house has everything you need, from a large kitchen to fast Internet which even streaming allows. We were greeted with flowers, wine, English biscuits and a fruit basket. There is nothing to complain about, thank you for 14 nice days.

The cottage has a fantastic outlook over the pond with ducks, moorhen, small birds and visiting heron and kingfisher. The hosts are friendly welcoming and very interesting to talk to. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and provides a relaxed holiday base in a great location for exploring Wiltshire. The kitchen is spacious, very well equipped and a lovely family social area. Everything contributed to a perfect holiday getaway, especially being within easy reach of the pub with its fantastic location and great food.

The cottage is in a heavenly spot, a good central location for days out. Stables Cottage is very spacious, with a lovely big lounge and kitchen, although we didn't bother to cook and use the appliances as we ate out each day.

Our first time in Wiltshire so the cottage provided a great base for exploring the many sights and places in the area. The welcome wine, fruit and milk were a nice touch as well as the flowers. The cottage itself is very spacious and well equipped although the fridge has a very small freezer compartment so don't take a lot of freezer stuff because it won't fit. Couple of things that we missed were not having curtains at the bedroom window (just the blinds) as it was light very early and also a bath mat as the shower over the bath created quite a wet floor. This is a very peaceful location with great views at the front and plenty of wildlife. The owners are on site in the house next door and were friendly and helpful.

This property is in a beautiful position, and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. It was very clean and had plenty of parking outside the property. It was lovely to sit in the garden at the outside table watching the ducks at the pond and all the other wildlife. There was a very good sun umbrella for the table. Overall a lovely place to stay with many things to do and see nearby. Would recommend it!

A well equipped and comfortable cottage in peaceful, pleasant surroundings. The owners (next door) were helpful but unobtrusive. Perfectly situated for exploring Wiltshire and beyond. Would definitely re visit.

Preis / Leistung unschlagbar - volle Punktzahl!!!

We stayed at The Stables Cottage for two weeks. Location was perfect for us - just short drives to all Historic Places and Towns we wanted to see. Spacious, clean and fully furnished accommodation in a well located friendly farm situation. The kitchen is a great size and so we were inspired to cook, although there's a good local pub - Kings Arms in Melksham - if you want to eat out. The owners were very friendly and we really appreciated the huge welcome package.

The views from the windows are superb. It is very quiet and well equipped. The local pubs serve excellent food. We had a wonderful time there and won't hesitate to recommend it to people, especially as it allows you to take 1 dog with you

Super property in a lovely location.

This was excellent accommodation - clean, bright and situated near to many interesting places. One or two items were missing e.g. there was no tea pot nor hair drier but otherwise the equipment was very suitable.

We stayed here for a week as it was ideal for touring, we visited Highgrove, Longleat, Bath, Lacock etc it was really well placed to enable us to do this. The house was very clean, beautifully presented, we had lots of space, a bottle of wine and fruit to greet us, and the whole house really well thought out. The tv had free view and we had internet provided. The only issue is the step from the kitchen to the lounge if you have someone with mobility issues but for us, our children and my mum it worked really well. We went to the pub down the lane opposite - great. All in all a lovely place to stay, we will return here. For us it was perfect.

Stables Cottage was the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. The warm welcome we received along with wine and flowers was lovely. The pond in the garden gave us hours of fun, watching the ducklings and their antics! Wiltshire has so much to offer that a week was not long enough and we really did not want to leave! We hope to return soon!
