The village of Dyffryn Ardudwy quietly nestles between The Rhinogs, part of the Snowdonia Mountains, and the golden beaches of the North Wales coastline. Boasting its own mild climate due to its unusual positioning, and an exciting array of wildlife and birds including soaring buzzards, this village provides good local shops and a good pub. The small town of Harlech is just 4 miles away, dominated by its majestic 13th Century castle which is a World Heritage Site, and the most impressive of all the castles built in North Wales by Edward I. Popular with golfers due to its famous Royal St. David's course, Harlech also boasts an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants. Nearby Barmouth offers an amazing Panorama Walk with breathtaking views and also a harbour from which you can enjoy a ferry to Fairbourne for a ride on the miniature railway or a boat trip out to sea to try mackerel fishing.
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
The cottage was beautiful and in a lovely location. It has an enclosed safe garden which was ideal for my 3 year old grandson. It was well equipped and furnished with everything we needed. The location is great, it was easy to get around.
We had a lovely 5 night break with our children and the cottage was very welcoming, very clean and it was a relaxing time. Mr and Mrs Evans were excellent hosts, made you feel welcome. The children loved the cottage, the views were lovely. We Would love to book again,
Superb property in wonderful location .
Tyddyn is a lovely, large old farmhouse, great central location, and welcoming for our two dogs. Lovely garden that the kids and dogs enjoyed. Lots of wildlife seen from the cottage, including red kite, buzzard, bat and badger.
A lovely property, liked it so much last year I came again! It was an ideal base to explore the area, the kids loved it and there was a secure garden for them and the dog. Would definitely recommend.
This is the second time this year we have stayed at Tyddyn. It is a wonderful cottage in the perfect location for us. Will be back next year. Our dog just loves it.
The garden was lovely and made it really easy to enjoy the beautiful views, I would love to revisit.
The garden was perfect for the dog and sitting out. We could not have asked for a better place. Will definitely stay again, wish it was mine.
A comfortable and warm cottage, with views over fields to the sea. The owner was very approachable and virtually on site.
One of the best equipped kitchens in a holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Brilliant cooking facilities. We also especially loved the jigsaw puzzles (be prepared for some late nights if you try to tackle them). The beds were comfortable and the cottage was cosy and warm despite the wet and windy weather. All round excellent with a lovely warm, Welsh welcome!
The location was great; we could walk/cycle to the beach easily. The beach itself was superb for the kids and the dog to explore which we did everyday. The enclosed garden was perfect for kids and the dog. The cottage has great views and the large kitchen is perfect for families. Would recommend.
We love the location and the views; also pleased we can take the dog
The location was amazing and the Cottage was very peaceful.
The cottage is in a beautiful location and is very peaceful and quiet - with just the sheep, cattle and seagulls for company. The owners live just next door but you don`t know they are there and were very pleasant when we did see them. It is in a good spot for the dog friendly beaches and our dogs just loved it. There is a hotel over the road from the cottage that serves good food and is also dog friendly. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We had one of our best weeks here - with the fabulous weather adding to our enjoyment - we sat outside and watched the sun go down on the longest day with a glass of wine! Perfect.
Lovely cottage, fantastic garden with wonderful views.
Beautiful cottage well furnished and presented, only wish it was mine!
We found the farmhouse to be a very good and clean accommodation with wonderful views, in the peace and tranquillity of the welsh countryside, but just a short drive or train journey to all the lovely towns and attractions that Wales has to offer. Overall we had lovely relaxing chilled out holiday and would definitely re-book again and recommend to friends.
A lovely Christmas holiday at Tyddyn. The house was lovely, and the Christmas decorations where really nice, it made it seem very cosy, could not of asked for any better, everything was perfect! We will return.
The property was wonderful, and in a fantastic setting. The property was warm and comfortable. The house was a regular home from home. We were made to feel very welcome.
Of the six holiday cottages I have used this year this was by far and away the best. Extremely comfortable, warm and welcoming. Very spacious indeed with all the equipment you could need.
Had a great holiday and rest, the accommodation was very warm and comfortable. The location was good, and the views from the property were beautiful. I would definitely come back again, and recommend this house to friends and family.
We will certainly be returning.
The area was fantastic, within walking distance of a beautiful beach. The house was wonderful, comfortable and welcoming. Would definitely love to go back, and would highly recommend it to my friends and family.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Tyddyn. It is a lovely cottage with a very pleasant garden, nice and flat for our old dog. It is very conveniently based between Barmouth and Harlech which are very easy and quick to get to by car. There is a lovely pub that you can walk to towards the beach which served nice meals. The hotel/pub (opposite) nearest the cottage wasn't very nice. The only gripe about the cottage was that the lounge was quite dark/dingy and very sparsely furnished, nothing like the on-line picture. We would certainly contemplate booking this cottage again when holidaying in the Barmouth area.
The location is superb. Beautiful views of dunes, the sea and distant mountains. Although the owner is right next door, there is no feeling of intrusion and was they were extremely friendly and offered to help with anything we needed. We had a brilliant holiday and would happily holiday here again.
The view from the kitchen and patio was to die for!
The property is ideal if you have children. It was very comfortable with lovely secure gardens. We would recommend the property to families and we will certainly be booking it again.
The cottage was amazing, and we would definitely stop again next year. We loved it that much we are going to book 2 weeks next year!
The cottage was clean, comfortable and warm with far-reaching views.
We would highly recommend, if you have dogs. The location is ideal as is the secure garden.
A beautiful farmhouse in a great location with fantastic sea views. The garden is large and secure for kids and dogs. The house is very well equipped with everything you need for a family holiday.
The cottage was wonderful, exactly as in the details.
Excellent cottage in a nice location and a nice personal touch by the owner leaving milk cakes and a bottle of wine.
