Just outside the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty was a peaceful, rural community. A popular pub founded in 1750, a parish church going back to before the 15th century, and a Spar store can all be found in the small, historic village of Hazelbury Bryan. There is a children's play area and a field with cricket and football equipment in the community as well. With the Dorset and Cranborne Chase Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty nearby, which provide excellent chances for hikers and bikers with beautiful views to go with it, Hazelbury Bryan proved to be a perfect location for exploring the outdoors. The community has a fair assortment of stores and restaurants despite being somewhat remote; Sherborne, the closest well-stocked town, is 10 miles distant. Visit Bournemouth, a charming town with lots to see and do, around 25 miles south of here if you feel like a vacation to the shore.

We have stayed at The Stables before and find it very comfortable for us and our small dog. The garden is ideal. We like the location as it is in a rural area with lots of walks on your doorstop and not too far to drive to the local shops and good pubs. We will stay again.

Rated by Mrs Joce reviewed on 20th February 2016

The owners were very friendly. A beautiful cottage up a long drive with electric gates for security, horses grazing in the fields and being stabled very close to the cottage. Very quiet and remote but close enough to drive to shops.

Rated by Mrs Blackall reviewed on 1st November 2015

Rated by Mr Winsbury reviewed on 22nd April 2014

The Stables is in the perfect location, the views are fantastic. The cottage is very well equipped and very cosy in December. The owners are welcoming, friendly and informative of the local area. We could not have wished for more, it was the start of a good Christmas break.

Rated by Mrs Layson reviewed on 25th December 2013

The Stables is a well equipped and spacious self contained property. The owners farmhouse is close at hand, but completely separate. This region is a delight for anyone who likes quiet and natural rural England. There are many delightful small towns and villages within easy reach and some excellent pubs serving really good food. The Dorset coast is not far away and is easily reached. The local lanes are quite narrow but are generally quiet and represent no drawback - they are part of the attraction for us! The house itself was very comfortable and the owners were very helpful and pleasant and respected our privacy perfectly.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 2nd December 2013

Rated by Mr Little reviewed on 19th March 2013

We were warmly welcomed by the owner. the property was home from home and had been decorated with a lovely Christmas tree. Comfortable size for 4 adults and we had a dog with us. The garden attached to the stables was dog/child friendly. We found a local pub The Green Man very friendly and the food was tasty. The landlord was helpful with giving us space to accommodate a toddler and dog, which allowed us to have an enjoyable time there. The stables is quite isolated if you wanted to do any shopping, having said that found a supermarket in Sturminster Newton offering a good range of products. Enjoyable, peaceful location.
