We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in deepest rural Dorset but we were still only half an hour from the Dorset coast. One of the best-equipped places we have ever stayed in with nothing to want for. The accommodation was more spacious than perhaps the pictures suggested - no bad thing! Remarkably, there was a fine collection of armchairs, sofas and regular chairs to choose from, we counted 13 seats or spaces to sit on. Lots of spare bedding though not needed during our stay. Parking immediately outside the front door. Food and good general shopping is about 25 minutes away in Bridport. The friendly farming family-owners live nearby just across the small yard and greeted us when we arrived after a long drive and saw us off a week later. Lovely.
A relaxing week spent in this lovely, exceptionally cosy cottage. Breakfast in the hot sun trap conservatory over looking the country side was an unexpected treat for October. Much to explore locally, pretty villages, great scenery & dramatic coast line.
We enjoyed the peace & quiet. The property was well equipped and had everything you needed.
An all over excellent cottage.
Everything was just perfect to be honest. The owners were superb hosts - in the fact they were on site, but not in our face unless we needed anything. We didn't have to ask for anything, because it was all there. It was in the middle on nowhere, just listening to Cows! There were lots of lovely rural walks.
It was all great, it was very thoughtful and immaculate. The owners were absolutely lovely people.
A quality cottage with up to date appliances and welcoming helpful hosts. Staying there during a very rough storm, one got a feeling of security and cosiness away from the onslaught outside, with a bonus of being able to 'storm-chase' whilst sheltering in the well appointed conservatory that was part of the accommodation. Would book again because the area is drenched in attractions, far too many to fit in on one visit.
It was relaxing and peaceful and the owners were friendly & very helpful. The accommodation could not be faulted, the fixtures and fittings were spot on, the décor was superb and the cleanliness of the property was excellent. This letting is a credit to the owners, I would recommend this property to anyone, thanks again to the owners.
Tranquil, relaxing, like a retreat
Excellent hosts. Helpful but not intrusive. Highly recommend to any. Ideally situated to explore the area inland or seaward.
We loved the peacefulness and the owners were very friendly. The cottage was in a good position for us to explore the south Dorset and Devon areas.
The lovely rural location made for a peaceful and restful holiday. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The cottage was superbly equipped. Lots of seaside towns nearby to visit and my favourite; The Subtropical Gardens at Abbotsbury. If you want to escape to the country this is the place to go.
We were able to relax in the conservatory which was very warm and had a lovely view.
It was out in the sticks as we say, but that added to the charm. When I looked out over the field and saw a deer with two young ones, made it perfect. Nice and quiet. Very good.
A comfortable and clean cottage. The owners were friendly and on hand but didn't interfere in any way. The above made for a very relaxing and pleasurable break. We would definitely consider going there again, or to the other properties let by the owners.
Property was warm and everything worked beautifully. The kitchen was particularly well stocked with all mod cons and cooking equipment. The owners were very welcoming but did not intrude. That part of Dorset is lovely and so quiet and peaceful. Local pubs serve very good food and the markets and farm shops are excellent. As it was Winter the seaside places were 'closed' but West Bay beach is glorious.
The cottage was an ideal base for touring such a lovely area. We all (dogs included) enjoyed all aspects of our holiday. Very positive.
A peaceful and relaxing holiday in an area of the country that we love. Kind and friendly but unobtrusive hosts.
The property was in a fabulous location and was well maintained and clean. The owners were friendly and helpful.
The accommodation was like a home from home. I loved the conservatory which overlooked the rolling downs of Dorset. It was peaceful and relaxing with lots of places to visit nearby.
It was nice to have a lovely welcome when we arrived. It was a lovely cottage, very quiet and relaxing with lots of nice country walks and we also had gorgeous weather. Towns and shops are not too far away. Overall thoroughly enjoyable.
Lovely locations, quiet and great views. Good base for visiting area. Warm welcome from owners.
Peace and quiet, lovely surroundings. Really nice but also unobtrusive owners.
We found the location extremely quiet, which was just what we needed for a completely relaxing week's holiday. We particularly enjoyed the comfort and view from the conservatory.
The area is stunning and the local beaches were great. The owners were very friendly and not intrusive at all, we were made to feel very welcome.
Lovely cottage, fantastic views.
Very good, isolated cottage.
In Dorset. Lovely countryside. Friendly landlady. Farm location.
The hosts were friendly and helpful during a very inclement week. Views were wonderful. The cottage was comfortable and very warm even in the coldest weather. The board games provided were used during the blizzard. Overall a very enjoyable winter break and we hope to be back when the weather is warmer.
Good enclosed garden for pets/ children. The Bottle Inn (nearest) served very good food. Quite a number of places to see around area.
Warm welcome from the owners. Excellent location for visiting coast, towns and countryside. Great views from conservatory and a peaceful location.
It was ideal for us, very peaceful, and plenty of places to walk our dog.
The Cottage is in a lovely area. The owner was very friendly. It is in a area close to Lyme Regis, the fossil cliffs, Abbotsbury. It isn't far away from Dorchester.
We had a very enjoyable holiday at the cottage. We enjoyed the peace of the location, and the owner was very helpful and friendly. The cottage had all we needed for a base for the holiday, and there was plenty to do nearby.
