Location Details

Renowned for its mild climate, sandy beaches, sailing and a championship 18-hole links golf course, the picturesque harbour village of Aberdovey is often referred to as "an artist's paradise". Packed with pastel coloured cottages, small shops, inns and excellent restaurants which specialise in local seafood, the settlement offers a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. Aberdovey boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, including four miles of golden sand dunes running north to Tywyn - home of the world-famous Talyllyn Steam Railway. Popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen, these beaches make a wonderful spot for a day trip, whilst the estuary attracts a wide range of water sports enthusiasts. The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges are also close by and offer a range of walks at different difficulty levels.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Reviews

A quirky property with lots of charm, and and an abundance of equipment, in a pleasant area.

Wonderful accommodation that is situated in a most beautiful part of Wales. Romantic retreat, just a shame it had to come to an end. The Shepherds Hut is fitted out to an extremely high standard with kitchen appliances that I would love to have at home. As much as I loved it, I am worried about saying how great it was just in case I can't get to book it again!

We were very impressed with The Shepherd's Hut. The quality of the appliances and furnishings, towels and linen were top class. We could not fault it.

A stunning cottage, in a stunning part of the world, the cottage had everything you could wish for and more. The owners were wonderful, and we will definitely be back.

The Shepherd's Hut was a beautiful romantic retreat in a spectacular part of Wales. Superb holiday, didn't want it to end. This is the second time I have booked with Sykes Holidays and the accommodation on both occasions has been fantastic, I will definitely use you as my first point of call.

This is a compact, unusual property comprising two separate buildings, one used as a kitchen/dining and one as a bedroom/bathroom: both contain a small cooker and fridge. The bedroom is very cosy. The huts are equipped to a high standard, in their own quiet garden set back from the road and have a light, airy but private feel. Good access right from the front door to walking on the pretty hills behind or the enormous beach over the road.

The location of Shepherd's Hut was perfect. Only two minutes walk from a beautiful empty beach and 10 minutes walk from a harbour town. The property is very quirky and cosy.

So long since I've been to the seaside and to stay in an incredibly cute, comfortable place just a stone throw from the beach was excellent. Waking up each morning hearing the sea birds & waves.
