The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
The owners are lovely and friendly and very helpful. My daughter loved feeding the goats and donkeys. Very secluded but couple of minutes drive to main road. Easy drive to Matlock, Bakewell and Ashbourne. Cottage has everything you need. Would definitely recommend.
The accommodation was in great order and hassle-free. The location was ideal for a range of amenities and activities.
This is the fourth time we have been to this property, which probably speaks for itself. Very comfortable, very peaceful, has everything we need, a perfect base for a few days holiday in the Peak District.
Lovely surroundings and lovely people, not too far away from the main road to be able to get to such lovely places like Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Matlock and Dovedale etc.
Lovely place, very friendly and helpful owners. Perfect for children.
Our second visit and will not be our last. It was peaceful and restful, definitely on our favourites list!
The cottage was warm with a comfortable bed & had all that we needed - an added bonus was the abundant bird life with woodpeckers through the windows! The friendly owners, the donkeys and the quiet surroundings made for a restful break - excellent!
As the property was such an excellent standard throughout and so very comfortable it made the holiday all the more special. A great place to come back to after a busy day out exploring the area. Much more to do and see than we initially thought. Would recommend this property and the area.
Had a three night stay with two young grand children. .Very well placed to explore Ashbourne and Peak District and handy for Alton Towers. Peaceful location. Well appointed cottage with all you would need and made very welcome. Would stay again without hesitation.
Had welcoming and helpful hosts, and it was in beautiful peaceful countryside. Everything in the cottage is new, efficient and sparklingly clean. Wish we lived nearer and could visit regularly.
The property was comfortable, very well presented and clean. The setting is quiet with good views. The owners were welcoming and helpful.
A fabulous cottage - clean and cosy.
Dover Barn is a lovely cottage. It's well maintained, spotlessly clean and deceptively spacious. It's centrally located for accessing all the popular destinations of the Peak District. It was ideal for us, as it was close to the easier cycling routes of the Monsal, Manifold and Tissington Trails. The latter being less than a mile away! Would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a good value, rural getaway.
Very comfortable barn conversion which perfectly suited my needs as a base for the week. Well equipped kitchen. Good quiet location 0.5 miles off the A515. Excellent WiFi.
The second time we have been to Dover Barn, and already planning next years visit. It's ideal for mum who can't manage steps due to arthritis. The owners are there if needed, but as everything is provided we didn't need anything. Very friendly too. As far as we are concerned there is nothing to improve; in fact mum isn't interested in trying anywhere else.
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful cottage. The hosts were always helpful and went out of their way to help us.
The cottage was lovely and lived up to its description online. The owners were very pleasant - came and found us when we got lost!
The cottage was clean, warm and comfortable, all one could ask for. The owners were very helpful and the accommodation was first class.
Lovely location. Friendly hosts and an enjoyable time had by all. Thank you.
We had Xmas week and could not have had a better choice of cottage. Utmost peace and quiet on lovely farm. Weather was changeable but the cottage remained cosy and warm. We will certainly be returning One small suggestion could be for a radio for guests. Thank you Irene and Tom for this lovely week
The cottage was extremely comfortable and peaceful. The kitchen was well fitted, and all appliances were in excellent condition and easy to use.
The cottage was great, clean, space enough for two adults and two children to play. The bathroom and kitchen are just simply perfect, everything one would need and want. Overall great stay!
The cottage was immaculate, well equipped, and comfortable. Quiet beautiful location. Very good access to places of interest, walking etc, and a photographers dream. Owners very friendly and non intrusive. Highly recommended, we will be back.
Dover Barn is a lovely cottage which is really well equipped; it is situated close to many beauty spots and Alton Towers. The owners are friendly.
A stone cottage in a remote part of the Derbyshire Dales. The cottage is superbly furnished and extremely comfortable. The owners are very friendly and the whole atmosphere is one of peace and quiet. The cottage is ideally located for exploring the Dales and the many interesting places in the area. Thoroughly recommended to anyone wanting a quiet holiday away from the madding crowd.
We had a great time at the cottage. Beautiful country surroundings.
This was one of the best small cottages we have stayed in over the past 30 plus years. It gave us everything we needed. Perfectly placed for exploring the southern half of the Peak District as well as areas of Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire nearby. We would recommend it to anyone not wanting the attractions of town life on their doorstep.
Beautiful, peaceful setting. Excellent accommodation. Good parking facilities. Very helpful owners. We would certainly visit again.
