We spent a week at Nant Yr Hendre in July 2020 after some serious time in lockdown! From the very beginning the owner Glenda was a fantastic host, easy to contact, always on hand for advice and even made us some fantastic cakes for our arrival! The cottage is amazing, very well planned out and lots of space! Room sizes are great and the cottage is finished to an extremely high standard. We felt at home instantly and were so impressed with the beautiful space. The kitchen has everything you need, there's plenty of seating and a fabulous log burner with lots of logs! TV with free view, WiFi and dvd collection. 2 bathrooms, both spotless and all the bedroom furniture is solid wood which fits in perfectly with the exposed wooden beams in the cottage keeping in kin with its roots. It was lovely to see a photo of the original barn buildings in the visitor book too. Loads of storage space in the bedrooms and even hangers in the cupboards! The whole cottage was spotless. Not a spec of dust. Toilet roll and basic cleaning products were also provided. Most of the outside space is pebbled which is good for many games with the kids and the side of the cottage has a decent sized lawn also great for the kids. The hot tub is absolutely perfect and the owners even came midweek to clean and top up! The hot tub is a great size and temperature and perfect location to watch the sun set. Which brings me onto the views. The views are just wonderful and the cows in the adjacent field are super friendly. Saying hello to the chickens and cats next door was a little daily treat for the kids too. The location is great. Even though you have other houses around you feel suitably isolated and the local coop/tesco is just 3 miles away. If you're after eggs though, I'd recommend buying fresh from the next door neighbour £1.50 for 6 and you can say a personal thank you to the hens they came from! It's a great location to explore many places in North Wales esp with Llangollen only being 18 minutes away! Glenda recommended a nearby forest/river walk which was brilliant for the kids too! Honestly, it was a brilliant week away from city life, a much needed break in a beautiful setting. We will be back!

I cannot compliment this cottage enough! The position within the country is superb, it is facing into fields and even though there are a few houses around the cottage still feels very isolated! The decoration and detail within the cottage is excellent, it has very modern facilities, the kitchen has everything we needed and more! The hot tub has really been the highlight of our holiday! It is positioned very well and is very secluded! The cottage was very clean on arrival and the owners catered for our three children very well, they set up the cot bed for us and had a very good amount of indoor toys to keep them busy! The owners came through mid way throughout stay to see if everything was ok and to re balance the chemicals in the hot tub, which we thought was fantastic! The owners arranged for my 7 year old son to go in a tractor and plough one of the nearby fields! I can assure you this is an experience we will never forget! The local villagers are so friendly and helpful and have really made our stay so much welcoming! We stayed for a week, two adults and three children under 7! Thanks so much for a lovely stay and we will definitely be staying again next year!

We stayed here in March with friends. The cottage is beautiful and the setting is lovely over looking the side of a hill farm. The hot tub is brilliant and just what you need after a day's walking. There's lots to see and do around here and some fantastic local pubs. There is a book In the cottage with what to do locally. We read the reviews from other guests in the review book in the cottage and went with some of their suggestions. I would just like to ask the owner where she got the curtains in the kitchen from as they were stunning. Even the other guests have made comments on the furnishings! So if the owner does read this please let me know!

The cottage was very homely, welcoming and clean. Kitchen had everything we needed, beds were comfy, and the hot tub was great! It felt spacious, and it was actually better than we were expecting as the pictures don't really do it justice. A really lovely base for exploring the local area.

Rated by Mr Davies reviewed on 10th February 2014

We had an amazing long weekend in this beautiful cottage. It's been renovated to a really high standard.with pretty much everything you could want - the best appointed kitchen of anywhere I've ever stayed, immaculate bathrooms, and spacious bedrooms with really luxurious linens and very comfortable beds. The hot tub was of course wonderful and it was lovely to sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the silence of the countryside. The owners were extremely helpful but also keen to ensure we had a great uninterrputed time - they had thought of everything. The local pub, the three pigeons, is a lovely place and we went for a great walk at the nearby Moel Famau hill which had stunning views. The owners had kindly asked in the guestbook for any suggestions for the way the place could be improved and none of us could think of a single thing, which speaks volumes. In high seasons the house seems fairly priced but for a group of friends in low season it is an absolute bargain and we're already planning our next trip to cheer up the dullness of wintertime.

We stayed at Nant Yr Hendre in the bleak mid winter for our wedding anniversary. Gone are the days of romantic city breaks for two. Now it's a long weekend for five. After looking extensively at hotels with adjoining bedrooms we realised that a self catering cottage fulfilled our needs at a fraction of the cost. We asked ourselves, "what do we really want from our accommodation?" and the unanimous answer was a clean, luxurious space and a hot tub! Nant yr Hendre did not disappoint. In fact we were really quite overwhelmed on our arrival. The fire was lit, the under floor heating was running, there was fresh bara brith and real butter waiting on the kitchen table and all was well, after a somewhat lengthy journey. I could find no fault, and I am rather pernickety, and I can't rate the cottage highly enough. Go and find peace and tranquillity here, with a glass of wine in the hot tub, large fluffy towels, and the pristine crisp white sheets of the very comfortable beds. Enjoy the scenery and the beauty of North wales and come home feeling refreshed and ready to book your next stay at Nant yr Hendre.

Rated by Mrs Gibson reviewed on 7th October 2013

This cottage is beautifully presented and furnished to a very high standard. There is plenty of space in the living areas which is very cosy thanks to the ground source heating and the lovely log burner. The bedrooms are again well furnished with comfortable beds and quality hotel standard linen and towels. Everything that you could possibly need was provided by the owners who were available should you require them. We could not fault anything at all at Nant yr Hendre and would recommend to all without any hesitation. Thank you for making our week in north Wales so relaxing

Nant Yr Hendre did not disappoint. This extremely beautiful home had every detail thought of from the lovely finishing, furniture, dishware, bedding to toys for our 3 year old nephew to enjoy. The outside space was excellent with beautiful views of the Wales countryside. Within 1/2 mile was a great pub called the Three Pigeons which was so convenient for evening dinners when you didn't feel like cooking. The owners were so welcoming & readily available if we needed anything. I would definitely stay here again & highly recommend their wonderful home!

Nant yr Hendre is a little gem of a property. The property has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard and every little detail has been thought through very well independent.

The accommodation was superb and the owners could not have been more helpful. We were very well looked after and are very grateful for the help we were given. We found the neighbours very friendly and there were lots of lovely places to go for a walk in the evening. We have very positive memories of our stay in this cottage and I would highly recommend it to other people.

Rated by Mrs Burtney reviewed on 25th July 2013

We loved our stay at Nant yr Hendre. The very approachable and helpful owners live nearby, which is great. The setting is near perfect. It is a newly renovated house with a spacious open plan kitchen/lounge room area and three spacious bedrooms, which are all furnished with lovely chunky wooden tables, chairs, beds, cupboards and drawers. The house is uncluttered as well as spacious which is a joy to be in. The weather was quite hot when we were there but the temperature inside the house remained comfortable. We just opened doors and windows in the evening and got a nice breeze through the house, cooling it down. As for equipment, it had everything you could possibly want from a coffee plunger to candles, and a picnic basket! Much care and great attention to detail has gone into the design and provision of house and content, and it shows.
