Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
As the great gurus of property - Kirstie and Phil - say the 3 most important things about a property are location, location, location. The Ty Pren cabin has a great location about 1/2 way from Llanrhian to Porthgain and about 10 mins walk from the Sloop Inn and the coastal path. The cabin is a Norwegian style log cabin and wider than most caravans and cabins that you might normally find, this means there is a real feeling of space. The cabin is well cleaned with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer among the amenities. For the gadget lovers - there are plenty of double sockets about. There are 3 rooms, a double, a twin and a single - the beds are fine without being great, but the extra space means proper wardrobes in the 2 larger rooms with plenty of hangers too. The interior quality is much better than most cabins and sets it apart from others. There is parking for 2 cars and a veranda to watch the sun set from. The location in the national park is excellent 10 mins from the coast path and with local walks 100m away, including a 15 min walk to Traeth Llyfn beach, worth visiting at low tide. The only draw backs I would say is 1) It would be nice to have a hair dryer and a filer coffee maker would be good and 2) It was a bit disappointing that there was no mid stay clean under the auspices of COVID safety, yet no discount on the second week stay either. Also please note that you are next to a dairy farm - you may get the odd whiff or two coming over the hedge, this should not be a surprise but one family seemed quite off put by it.
We have stayed in Ty pren 3 times we absolutely love it...home away from home. The accommodation is clean and comfortable lovely bottle of wine chilling in fridge on arrival. Love the location. Will definitely be booking again.
Just got back from a weeks holiday and didn’t want to leave. Ty pren is absolutely fantastic, lovely and clean and everything you could possibly need was provided. A beautiful location, peaceful and relaxing, we can’t wait to go back.
The cabin was excellent and in a good location for exploring the area. It was very comfortable, had plenty of room and was very well equipped.
We love the location which we know well from previous visits to the area. The lodge is very well situated with a good view and a short, pleasant walk to Porthgain and the coastal path. The lodge was very comfortable, warm and dry even on rainy days, while the large corner sofa is perfect for sociable evenings playing cards or watching a film.
The cabin was fabulous; lovely wood panelling, lots of space & fully equipped! Perfect for us as a family of 4, plus the dog could come which was great. A great location for visiting St Davids & would definitely recommend to anyone.
The cottage was really amazing and the area is superb. I would definitely come again. A relaxing and an amazing holiday had by the whole family.
"Location was amazing and the site was clean and peaceful. Plenty of hot water was available at any time and the beds were very comfortable after a long day walking."
An excellent break in a lovely setting. The lodge was warm and comfy, we all enjoyed it, including the dog.
Great location near the sea
Quality and warmth of the property, its remote location and access to footpaths and good food pub & bistro. A splendid site. A great number of guests have visited many times - we can understand why.
This accommodation was to a very good standard, with the fresh flowers in the lounge and welcoming tray of cakes, milk in the fridge and tea making necessities on our arrival. All in all, we were well pleased with the accommodation, the service from Sykes Cottages and our choice of this holiday.
Peaceful and tranquil without being too isolated.
An excellent abode! Everything was a very high standard and decorated with good taste. Easy access to everything. Lovely walk to the beautiful village with a good pub, a nice restaurant, an 'ice-cream parlour' and several galleries.
Myself, husband and my Mum spent a fantastic week at Ty Pren enjoying the tranquil location and total away from it all feel. Harbour only 10 minutes walk across the fields, and this lodge had a good view across to the sea. Total home from home as lodge has all the modcons that we use. Cleanliness fantastic, and lovely to get a welcome tray and boquet of flowers on arrival. Only downside was the track leading up to the park, could have done with a bit of TLC as not suitable for all cars due to large ruts! Local shop couple of miles so remember to stock up before you arrive. St Davids has large supermarket as does Goodwick. We will be back.
The lodge was lovely and warm, very good for a young family. The space outside the lodge is brilliant to run around in.
The position and location of the property is perfect for ease of access to the area and scenically beautiful.
We loved the quietness of the park, and no street lighting so we could watch the stars at night. Loved the setting. Lodge itself was excellent, and close enough to the local harbour to enjoy a 10 minute ramble most days.
Overall it was a very good lodge, and in a good position for getting about.
Good size lodge, clean and well maintained. A pleasant site, with easy access to the surrounding area. Short walk to Porthgain.
The property was big enough for everybody as we had our extended family there with us. The property was in a quiet and safe location.
We were very impressed by the high standard of furnishings and equipment, it was very spacious and the layout of the cabins on the site meant that none were overlooked by others.
The location - superb scenery and quiet roads. Also, we had perfect weather to enjoy it all. Not many can say that.
