This is our 2nd stay here and we will definitely be back again. Absolutely everything required for a relaxing, peaceful, comfortable stay. The owners have thought of everything and if there is anything else,or you have any questions, they are very quick to respond. This time we brought our son, wife and 2 children and they all had the best time. The hot tub is amazing to de-stress. A little slice of heaven and we’d definitely book again! Many thanks for a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful second visit to pen-y-gaer. The hosts are wonderful and couldn't do enough for you. Dilwyn was fab with my 5 year old who decided he wants to be a farmer when he is older after seeing Dilwyn and another chap rounding up sheep next to the house. The whole trip was great. We love the isolation and the hot tub as well as the kid splay equipment. The house had everything you would ever need. Thank you so much for having us!

My family have just got back from this lovely place. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay for however long you are staying for. The magnificent views of open fields and the sea can be seen from pretty much every room in the property the best views are from the kitchen / dining room. The hob tub was lovely and the views from there in the evening watching the sunset were incredible. There's quite a lot to do in the nearby towns / village. The property has so much space and a lovely enclosed garden area with a swing and slide which our daughter loved. The owners were very nice and helpful and nothing would of been too much trouble for them. I would definetly reccomend this cottage if your looking for a getaway in wales.

We have just returned from having an amazing week! It was our second time returning to the cottage and it definitely didn't disappoint! We love the location, views and the fact that the kids can have fun too :) The owners can never do enough for you! We will definitely return again in the future.

We've now stayed here twice in the last 7 months. We stayed during Hurricane Ophelia in Oct 2017 and then again over the gorgeously hot May bank holiday weekend. This is the perfect place to wind down and relax, especially if you're from a busy city! Owners are fantastic and like to help in any way possible. They also leave milk and yogurts in the fridge upon arrival which is a lovely touch after sitting in a car for 3/4 hours. The cottage is well cared for and the scenes are breathtaking. We have been lucky enough to have daily visits of rabbits, see little lambs and deers, all within a couple of meters from us! If heading down to Llandudno (I highly recommend that you do) and you like fish, book a table at The Seahorse - It's a little pricey, but well worth it for a holiday treat. The food was amazing and we'll definitely be going back. We're hoping to visit this cottage again at some point this year we love it that much!

We stayed over Easter and it was amazing. Views are out of this world. Hot tub is perfect for those chilly evenings. Sleeps 6 comfortably. Owners couldn't do enough for us!

This cottage is sat on top of a hill so tranquil, with the most amazing views day and night. The hosts Dilwyn and Monon go out of their way to ensure you have a great time in their cottage. The cottage has everything you possibly need , beautifully decorated and well equipped. The hosts were always available when we needed them for advice. Nice touch of leaflets of possible attractions to visit and advice booklet of availability of local shops and cafes. We had shopping delivered by Tesco so no need to go near supermarket.Very tranquil only wildlife to keep you company, saw many different types of birds. We loved the hot tub facility where we loved watching the sunset whilst relaxing in hot tub. Easy reach to lots of local attractions and plenty of lovely walks in the area. Thank you Dilwyn and Monan for being great hosts . We recommend a visit yo this vottage didnt want our holiday to end. Janene and Michael

This property is fantastic. We arrived at the property early with a hungry toddler in tow and the owners couldn't do enough to help us get settled in. We were joined by another family with a toddler and the house and surroundings were perfect. The addition of the slide and swings was great for the kids to play and the hot tub was perfect for the adults to elax in after bedtime. Walks are quite literally on your door step and the views are breathtaking. Overall we all had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would definatly visit the property again in the future. I'm already starting to think about when this will be.

The property had a lovely clean hot tub, plenty of towels and a washing line. A well appointed, clean house with great views across to Rhyl. It was very peaceful and private with lots of lovely walks and a comfy king size bed. The owners were friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pen Y Gaer and have all agreed we would love to come back. We would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family for a relaxing break away. The surrounding area was lovely and the views were amazing. There were loads of things for us to do that were not too far away! By far one of the best breaks away we have had!

Rated by Miss Casali reviewed on 13th April 2015

Pen Y Gaer is a lovely, clean cottage with excellent decor, comfortable rooms and beds etc - nice, rural location. Our boys also loved the house and didn't want to go home!

Rated by Mr Evans reviewed on 7th April 2015

The property is nicely tucked away over a hill down a gravel drive, on approach you think really all this is ours for the week! Nice big drive, room easily for 2 cars. Our 2 year old thought it was great having his own playground. When we sat outside having a cuppa and taking the view in we felt very happy, lovely view, peaceful - shame a holiday cottage probably highly valued as this would be a dream location to live! Lovely log burner and cosy lounge, brilliant farm style kitchen with plenty of equipment. Beds were comfy and bedrooms were lovely. Whole cottage was clean on arrival, and plentiful on space. 2 bathrooms a bonus for a few people to get ready in a morning. Would recommend a clothes line to be put up outside but other than that a great property. We never used it but they had a fantastic BBQ available in the garage. We did however use the Hot tub, we were told we were the first to use it as only just installed - it was heaven to take in the view of the sea in the distance at night, with the sound of sheep in the hills and just the rustle of the breeze as company was priceless. We would return again - I am hunting for more things to do in the area to justify a week away at the Cottage :-)

Do you want beautiful scenery and to be away from the rat-race? Then this is the place for you. The cottage is spacious and comfortable with all mod-cons. We loved our holiday and the children (aged 7 and 10) enjoyed the freedom of roaming without the ever present threat of traffic, the adults felt tranquil in letting the children 'off the leash'.

Rated by Mrs Forder reviewed on 18th June 2014

Exceptional panoramic views from the mountain top. Very friendly owner who escorted us from the village and checked on us during our stay. The property had been furnished to a high standard and with forethought to the holidaymakers who would be occupying it. The buzzard who guards the mountain is a sight to be seen, especially when he is perched on a fence post a couple of feet away as you slowly drive past.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location off the beaten track. The views are fantastic. We loved walking in the surrounding countryside and the cottage is ideally located for days out to local attractions and the coast. The weather was variable when we stayed but as we looked at the views from the lounge with the log burner on, we did not mind at all.

Rated by Mr Roberts reviewed on 4th January 2014

I stayed at Pen Y Gaer from the 8th to the 11th of september with my wife, Mum and Sister. The 2 storey Cottage has recently been renovated and furnished. It 's very spacious, clean and has a new cottage feel to it. The Cottage has all the essentails with everything you will need to cook, wash and relax. The cottage has a magnificant view looking out over farmlands and across to the sea. There are 2 pubs one a 5 minute drive away, and the other is a 10 minute drive. I would recommend Pen Y Gaer LLannefydd as a really nice place to enjoy a holiday. The Hosts are extremely nice and helpful in anyway they can.

Excellent well-equipped property furnished to a high standard; in a beautiful rural setting with wonderful views over the North Wales coast & countryside. Great place for walking or relaxing, suitable for families with plenty of outdoor space for the kids. It provided us with a fabulous base to explore North Wales. We should really keep it a secret; had a most enjoyable stay - highly recommended.
