Home from an amazing weekend at the bigger of the two cottages. I booked the cottage for my 30th birthday weekend. 12 of us stayed and there have been no complaints. The cottage is so big that we were never on top of each other. Each bedroom has its on ensuite which is perfect for 12 girls! Hot tub and sauna are lovely additions. It is a bit off track and quite a way from ruthin but if you drive its only 15 minutes. Only thing I would say is the reception isnt great and the wifi is very hit and miss. There also isnt anything for music like a speaker but easy enough to take yourself! Will definitely be returning!

We arrived on Friday lunchtime after receiving a message from Eryl the manager of the cottage to say we could get in the cottage before 3pm if we wanted to. We called at the village shop to buy some fresh eggs only to be greeted by Erly who actually volunteers in the shop. Once we arrived at the cottage we were absolutely delighted it really is right In the middle of a working farm. The cottage is extremely comfortable. We had the biggest of the two cottages, fully equipped and the two dishwashers we an absolute godsend with there being 10 of us. All the bedrooms have really good en-suite facilities, and the bedrooms are really big with the beds in any configuration you need, Eryl asked me how we would like the beds to be set up before we arrived. The beds were really clean and very comfortable. WiFi a bit hit and miss and we did struggle to get a telephone signal, but again this is a working farm in the middle of the countryside so only what you should expect. TVs in all bedrooms as well as the lounge so even if the weather was bad everybody could be catered for even a PlayStation. The games room is very rustic and Eryl told me before we arrived that the table tennis table had been broken by the previous occupants, the pool table was fine and we even managed to repair the table tennis one so that we could play on it although nobody was allowed to lean on it. I’ve read a few comments on here about flys, well yes there were some flys but again it’s a working farm and your bound to get these. All in all a brilliant 5 nights and days and we would defiantly go to this cottage again, The hot tub and the sauna were brilliant, the only thing I would say is the back area of the house could do with more outside lights or lights that don’t go off while your in the hot tub as when we went in at night the senor lights went off after five minutes and it really was pitch black.

There are two adjoining properties, that can be joined together to make a 7 or 8 Bedroom property (all at least a double room with en-suites) We stayed in the smaller two Bedroom property. Very warm and cosy, fitted out with a large fully functioning kitchen. Has extras like a playstation3 which was useful for the kids, but there is so much to do outside, it was barely used. Great options to go walking in the fields, through the Clocaenog Forest or down to the pub. The owner Eryl was very welcoming and helped with any questions we had. The other people workign on the farm (its a real working Beef Cattle Farm), were always really helpful. We will come back one day. Thanks.

Lovely 5 bed plus the option of a sofa bed attached to one of the main bedrooms All on suite with option for all but one to be twin linked king sized beds The seating in the lounge for all of us was just enough and the wood burin ting stove in this room got very warm. Seats around the dining table was great and allowed for us to eat together with enough crockery and cutlery ( something not every place has) The kitchen was functional and had enough room although we had a small problem with fridge on last day - reported as we left. Hot tub was a lovely addition and main reason we booked along with games room and sauna Addition of a shared washing machine and dryer was a boon as we were travelling on to another holiday let and this enabled us to clean the toddlers clothes prior to travelling Comment - would loved the small area of grass just after the fence to have been the other side as this would have allowed our toddler to have been outside on the grass on her bike with us watching from the kitchen etc as it was open to the one teach road it meant we had to be outside at all times

We booked both cottages for our family, to celebrate our Golden Wedding. We had a wonderful week. The bedrooms are all spacious and en-suite, with large comfortable beds. We made the most of the hot tub, sauna and games room and there are lovely walks straight from the cottages. Eryl couldn't do enough to help us.

9 members of our family stayed in here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having all 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms was excellent as it meant nobody had to share. Eryl the owner came to meet us on arrival to make sure we were OK and if we had any problems to let him know. The cottage is set on a working farm with cows and sheep. We all made use of the hot tub and games room, an added bonus. The only issue we had was the level of cleanliness with regard to the cooker and kitchen bins. However, this wouldn't stop us booking again. Excellent cottage.

We rented the cottage for a 60th birthday party. 8 members of the family stayed and another eight joined us for the Sunday. The owner couldn't have been more helpful, even allowing us to use the kitchen in the adjoining property free of charge on the Sunday. The hot tub was a definite plus. Beds were very comfortable and we all enjoyed our stay. Views were tremendous. The cottage did show signs of hard use though. Couldn't lock the back door, the games room was unfinished and the sauna didn't work and various other minor niggles. It didn't detract from an excellent week though. We would stay again but would hope that the above would have been addressed by then.

Set on a working farm, these two beautifully converted cottages (see also Tyddyn) once formed the main farm house. Eryl, the owner, has thought of everything possible to make your stay comfortable. The beds, the en-suite bathrooms (of which there are 5), the living and dining spaces and kitchen equipment are all excellent. The games room with pool table and table tennis, the hot tub and the sauna are just extraordinary extras. We wanted for nothing. The setting is idyllic; in rural Denbighshire, near the pretty market town of Ruthin. There is plenty to do nearby with children of all ages, including teenagers. The north Wales coast and Snowdon National Park are within a short drive. Eryl is nearby and always on hand should you need anything. He even recommended a wonderful local chef whom we paid to come and cook dinner for us in the cottages. That was a lovely holiday treat! I would highly recommend Maestyddyn holiday rentals.

The cottage was well furnished and had comfy beds & good quality linen, the temperature was perfect with under floor heating, and if needed a log burner. The kitchen had everything needed to entertain plus lots of country walks, to build up an appetite. The highlight for the family was the hot tub.

The quality of the accommodation was excellent. Especially each room having an en-suite. Hot tub a definite plus! Location was good with forest walks from the cottage or nearby forest parks or general walks. Easy to pop down to Ruthin for those who like to look at shops. Excellent cakes on arrival and fresh towels in the utility room was great.

We have stayed at this property for the past 2 years together with the property next door. Both properties together sleep up to 17 people. The properties are well presented and spacious. It has been a home from home for us as an extended family. The properties have excellent comfortable furniture throughout, with the added use of the hot tub, which both adults and children alike enjoyed. The surrounding fields are great to play in The owner Eryl is very welcoming and area has a great community spirit. We are staying again in October. I would and have recommended this property to family and friends. You will not be disappointed if you book this as a holiday.

What an amazing property in a fantastic, peaceful location. We booked both this property and the property next door for my birthday with a large group of friends and we had everything we could have possibly wanted. Cosy living area, two wood burners and a brilliant dining area large enough for us all to use.

A fantastic property in a superb location. Beautiful cottage tastefully and thoughtfully furnished. Ideal for large group events as everyone can have solitude if they wish and gathering areas are large enough to accommodate the group. Hot tub a great additional facility. Owner goes out of his way to assist wherever necessary.

Einfach perfekt.

We loved everything about it! A place I'd definitely recommend! Great for adults and children! The cottage had everything you needed including towels and a fully equipped kitchen.

Rated by Mrs Moore reviewed on 4th January 2014

The cottages were of a very high standard, all inventory was plentiful and furniture excellent (no flat packs here). The owner, was very pleasant and on hand when required to offer any advice about the local area and amenities. The properties were very clean. It is situated on a working farm and allows you to use it as a base for visiting places in North Wales, or allows the peace and quiet to recharge your batteries from the normal hustle and bustle of working life. The bedrooms were very comfortable all were en-suite, and each had a TV to watch. The garden contained a hot tub which was checked daily to ensure it was clean. The gardens each had a gas barbecue and seating area. The property had an amenity room were clothes could be washed and dried so that no washing was necessary when we got home. The cottage also had a games room with a snooker and table tennis table. All had a thoroughly great holiday here, and we are happy to recommend this holiday property to anyone. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely adored the cottage! It was clean, and perfectly furnished, and had all the modern facilities we needed! All five rooms were as large as the other. The owner was very helpful, and I would recommend this cottage to anyone considering a break! I could not fault the cottage one bit! It both met and exceeded our expectations by far! The hot tub was a added extra. Amazing cottage!
