Reviews

Stayed for 1 night. 3 bedrooms, very spacious lounge & kitchen with all utensils you may need. Would definitely revisit. A short walk away from the harbour but very quiet & peaceful in the cottage. I booked via booking.com however sykes were not reliable in sending key code. I rang 5 times until I finally got it.

A lovely cottage, great accommodation sleeping 6 comfortably. Everything was available but a shame the dishwasher wasn't working and the washing machine was quite old (took about 6 to 8 hours to dry the clothes in the tumble dryer.) However, the close proximity to the sea (2 min walk) outweighed these things and it was lovely to wander down every day to the harbour or across the golf links to a beautiful bay, usually deserted. Great for kids - rock pooling was amazing and the boat trip to the Farne Islands is a must. The one draw back of the cottage is that there is no parking. (double yellow lines everywhere). The suggestion is to use the town pay and display carpark and buy a weekly pass, but we discovered they don't do this any more so the daily cost would have been £3.50, adding an additional £24.50 to your stay. However, we managed to park at the top of the road on the main street every day where there are no double yellow lines, and we always found a space, so not a real problem unless you are carting lots of stuff back and forth. All in all a great stay in a beautiful location.

Many thanks for a lovely holiday in Fisherman's Cottage. We loved the cottage, which is beautifully furnished and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen. The location is ideal, and we enjoyed the friendly community at Seahouses. Would be very happy to come again!

It's was beautiful and the lady who holds the keys was so helpful. Really nice. Could not fault the cottage, the place or the weather. We all had a lovely weekend.

Rated by Mrs Lewis reviewed on 17th March 2015

The Cottage was very clean, warm and welcoming. It is in a great location, very close to the harbour and amenities. There was ample room and thoughtful touches such as board games and books. I would thoroughly recommend Fisherman's Cottage and I have no doubt we will be back.

Rated by Ms Riley reviewed on 18th February 2015

A well equipped cottage in a quiet street close enough to the village centre to not have to worry about the walk. No car parking close by but that didn't impact negatively on our stay. We just felt really comfortable there and hope to return.

Rated by Lifescapes reviewed on 31st October 2014

This property was just as described. It was very clean and tidy with all the facilities you would need. The property is well situated for getting into the town. The only minus point for it was the parking. Although a parking voucher was provided for the car park, the car park was a good 10 minutes walk away from the cottage. Other than this the cottage is everything you would want from a holiday let.

We were very pleased and impressed with Fisherman's Cottage - the pictures do not do it justice - we found it to be much more spacious than it looked. It was warm, cosy and lovely with excellent lighting. The bedrooms were spacious with lots of storage. The location was great too - 1 minute to the harbour. We hope to return and will definitely recommend to friends.

Well situated in the town and although it was a town it was very quiet and peaceful. Not what you would imagine if you live in or near a town yourself. The cottage was very clean and spacious with everything you could possibly need. the beach was no more than five minutes away which more than made up for the property having no outside area of its own.

Rated by Mrs Sanders reviewed on 6th September 2011

It was a really lovely cottage. immaculatly clean. Lovely cotton bedding and excellent kitchen contents. 2mins walk to the beach and the town. Parking was about £15 for the week in the town but you could park in nearby streets. Only downside was 1 bathroom and no outdoor space. Would be really nice if it had a solid fuel fire for the winter, excellent fish n chips in Seahouses.

The cottage was excellent for our needs, nice and clean and tidy with ample room to cater for my wife's needs. The cottage was on the doorstep of all local amenities, two minutes and you where at the shops and in the evening to the night life. I can't fault our holiday as everything from the cottage to the amenities to the weather was all you could ask for.

Sykes cottage proved to be one of the nicest holiday rentals in which we have stayed. It is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The location, althought seemingly in a small road of terraced cottages, proved to be exceptional with views of the Harbor, Bamburgh Castle and the Farned Islands being only one minutes walk away. Highly recommended.
