A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
A very restful property with welcoming owners who have obviously spent many years restoring the barn to an excellent standard.
First class Cottage in all respects. Friendly and welcoming owners.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely cottage. Very helpful and friendly owners.
The cottage was really peaceful and quiet. The surrounding countryside was really pretty and the walking potential was great. The little play area was a great idea and the children in our party really loved it. Our hosts were friendly and on hand if required but have also perfected the art of giving you plenty of freedom and space to enjoy your break. We really enjoyed our time here.
It was a beautiful place to stay; very peaceful and well equipped. The garden was particularly suited to young children.
The cottage was absolutely spotlessly clean - in fact cleaner than I have ever experienced in a similar situation. The owners were a delight and the contents of the kitchen were very thoughtful. We managed to be quite ambitious with our catering for the whole family as quite simply we had the confidence that we would find everything we needed in order to prepare the meals. The area is of course absolutely beautiful.
Very friendly and helpful proprietors. Barn conversion of the highest quality. Beautiful situation. Areas in front and behind cottage very nicely landscaped, with lots of feeders for the multiplicity of birdlife.
The setting was idyllic, and came fully up to expectations. A very quiet location, and totally relaxing. On-site owners very pleasant and helpful. The quality of the barn conversion was to a very high standard, and retained the character of the property.
Swallow cottage was very cosy with real attention to detail, this made for a very relaxing stay. The play field was excellent and the children really enjoyed all the equipment that was there. We would definitely come back.
The accommodation was better than expected. Lots of local information available. Lovely countryside. Local villages closer to the property than we thought.
This was our third visit to Swallow Cottage and the high standard remains. It is clean comfortable and has everything we need. This cottage deserves only the highest rating because the quality outweighs others.
Wonderful well equipped cottage. Great attention to detail, lovely bedding and towels etc. Very spacious and perfect for our needs. We had quite a few visitors. Boys loved the park, play area and toys.
A truly stunning cottage. All the home comforts have been thought of, and it is very welcoming. A lovely location with lots to do in the surrounding areas.
The cottage was beautifully finished and excellently equipped.
Top quality cottage, welcoming and friendly hosts - a beautiful area.
The best UK rental property we have used! Wonderful riverside walks. The Lion provides really super food. Ardvaark Books at Brampton Bryan, a fantastic place to while away a few hours, even if your not a keen reader.
Beautiful barn conversion in lovely countryside. Very well equipped.
The cottage is spacious, it is quiet and the whole ambiance of the place lends itself to relaxing and watching Mother Nature at work in the surroundings. The owners friendliness is genuine and welcome.
Lovely peace and quiet. Cottage well equipped. Childrens play area briliant - we used it every day. Once again we've had a perfect cottage. Thanks!
The cottage was wonderful and the owners very welcoming. A lovely, quiet location.
Very friendly and obliging owners who gave us a very warm welcome. The property had been nicely decorated for Christmas and homemade mince pies and a bottle of wine were provided for our arrival. A beautiful area for walkers which we took advantage of.
The play area with swings and sandpit and plenty of grass is excellent.
The quiet location in beautiful countryside. Lovely cottage. Friendly owners. Very relaxing. Apart from the weather (rain) there was nothing to dislike!
An excellent location for a walking holiday for fit and active people. A very clean and comfortable cottage. Definitely 5*!
The cottage is outstanding and should be given the highest rating. This was a return visit and the improvements to the garden have made it a huge attraction to young children.
The peace and the swallows!
Extremely comfortable. The owner has obviously invested a lot of effort into creating a real home-from-home for their guests.
A beautiful barn conversion, equipped with everything you could need. Huge attention has been paid to detail and the cottage was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the remote setting and loved our walks on The Long Mynd and Stipperstones.
Very pleasant and helpful owners. Stunning barn conversion. Quiet location and although it felt remote there were lots of attractions within easy reach. Beautiful and unspoilt countryside. Hidden England and Wales at their best.
We found Swallow Cottage delightful. It was well furnished, well-equipped and well maintained.
An excellent cottage, clean and spacious with lots of games. The owners should be commended as they had thought of everything.
It was a delightful cottage, very tastefully decorated and furnished, in a beautiful location.
Our second time back and it was as good as the first. The owners are great hosts and this is a great place from which to see the surrounding area.
The location of the cottage guaranteed a peaceful holiday. We were able to take beautiful walks from the front door, untroubled by traffic. The cottage was easily the best equipped we have ever stayed in (in over 25 years of taking two or three cottage holidays a year!). Spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable.
It was fantastic and the hosts were very hospitable. We're already planning our next stay at the cottage.
The cottage was very cosy and suitable for children. It was good to have an enclosed space at the back for a BBQ and space in the front for our bikes.
Very friendly owners, who were always happy to help with any issues. Lots of extra items provided making it a real "home from home" property. Particularly appreciated the welcome card, wine and tea left out for us when we arrived.
