Reviews

We were lucky to have a few days here just before the second you know what... it was just what we needed to give us a break away from home before another month of the same four walls. We had such a lovely relaxing time. The apartment is cosy and comfortable and has beautiful views. The surroundings are gorgeous- the lakes, the fields and the wooded areas are lovely to walk around - I’m not sure we would want to share them if they were ours! So, it goes without saying that we are very grateful to Jackie and her family that they do share it all - thank you! Thanks to Alfie and Millie too for the visits - lovely dogs (sorry we couldn’t let you come and cwch on the sofa with us ). Loads to do in the local area as others have said. Sadly our Severn valley railway trip will have to wait until life returns to a bit of normality again. We rarely visit the same place twice but I’ve a feeling we will be back one day as I think Colin might try the fly fishing. Thanks again for your warm welcome, chats and information Jackie - a great host xx

When I wanted to get away from "it all" I searched for a cosy spot for 2 people in a quiet setting without having to travel to the wilds of Scotland. We struck gold. I can't believe the expanse of private land available to us, and the glorious view which, thanks to the design of the apartment, is before you whether you're standing at the door, sitting on the couch or at the breakfast bar, or waking up in the comfy bed. And the peace just pervades your being. The apartment is on the owners' land, near to their house. Jackie is there if you need her but not intrusive - the dogs checked on us from time to time! The apartment is well equipped - the only thing I would add to my bag next time is an extension lead so I could use my hair straighteners near a fixed mirror - but had I thought to ask Jackie I am sure she would have produced one, and there's a small stand-up mirror in the apartment. Otherwise the apartment is one mirror -handy plug socket away from perfection - just don't forget to duck for the sloping ceilings! Most of the "local" tourist attractions are outdoors and there are many beautiful walking routes. Jackie and Paul gave us plenty of advice about where to eat/drink/visit and we talked to plenty of friendly local people who gave us more ideas. So many, in fact, that we didn't cover everything, and are really looking forward to going back! It's such a lovely spot just to relax - if the weather isn't so good I could just sit and gaze out of the window. It's the perfect place to really be a human "being" instead of a human "doing"

The location is perfect and grounds fantastic. A great part of the country to visit and explore via footpaths going in and out of the grounds with great views from a nearby small hilltop. Plenty of things too do locally National trust properties, Severn valley railway and Bewdley to name a few. Witley Manor is a must visit just a few miles away. The view from the apartment is really wonderful, great just to sit and look over the lakes while having a drink. The atmosphere is tranquil and peaceful. Jackie and Paul made us feel really welcome and at home, never been intrusive. Jackie is really lovely lady and can be contacted at any time and has a wealth of local knowledge. Really glad we found this little gem we loved our time there and will visit again. Almost forgot the little visits from Alfie and Milly, their dogs. Both are lovely and very happy when they get a little fuss.

The Stilehouse Apartment was ideal for us as we wanted a peaceful holiday out in the countryside. The location and views were perfect. Sitting outside in the evening watching the house martins flitting around was so relaxing. Inside, the super comfortable king size bed and the roomy shower make for a very comfortable stay.

This was an excellent place to stay; the owner was very helpful, and the views from the window were beautiful. The locality offers much to offer for the curious browser. Would recommend this as a place to stay.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful setting. Couldn't be faulted. Lovely friendly welcome from owner.

The apartment was very nicely laid out, welcoming and felt airy and spacious. The patio type door and windows around them were east facing so we experienced the most incredible sun rises. There was a great feeling of privacy and privilege to be in such incredible surroundings. The garden is spectacular, as is the surrounding countryside and the trout fishing within the garden was a real pleasure. We fully intend to return.

Best New years location for us to date! Wonderful welcoming/informative hosts and amazing immediate surroundings with places further afield to visit. Stunning panoramic views just a 10 minute walk from the apartment and in a peaceful rural/friendly location, all the better for having exclusive use of the site. Amazing views from the apartment. A hidden gem just an hour away from Birmingham.

Rated by Mrs Bradburn reviewed on 4th January 2015

This hidden gem cannot be done justice from photographs, the landscape and views of it from the apartment are simply beautiful. As a quiet hideaway for a couple, who enjoy rural retreats, exciting fishing and lovely places to visit within easy reach, Stilehouse would be hard to beat. This, coupled with the fantastic welcome and warmth of the owners, made for a truly wonderful break that we look forward to repeating!

My partner and I were looking for the perfect place to take our four month old baby on his first holiday and I'm so pleased to say that we found it with this treasure apartment. From the minute we arrived, the owner made us feel at home and couldn't have been any nice during our entire stay. The garden (if you can call it that as it's so big and beautiful) created a wonderful view and was perfect for us to go and enjoy some time alone or as a family. The area itself is also very beautiful and allows you to escape reality without being too far from the local shops. We had some great days out to Bewdley and local attractions such as the railway and safari park. We didn't try any of the pubs or restaurants as there really was no need or want for us to leave our cosy apartment on an evening. It has all facilities required to just hide away and enjoy time together. We'll definitely be returning.

This is a unique place to stay, the studio which is accessed by steps has a small verhranda which over looks the magnificant view of the lakes and 13 acres of land which is yours for your stay. The lakes contain three species of trout, blues, browns and rainbows .I have never known trout to jump so high and fight so hard, the best weight i caught was 5lb but there were larger fish . All the fish caught were in perfect condition. The early morning chorus tells you that this a bird spotters joy! other wildlife can been seen along the lovely walks. The accomodation is clean, comfortable with self catering equipment and a lower outside decked area also with bbq and seating. The owners are lovely and own two adorable springers.Dont forget you are the only people using this wonderful facility!

Very helpful and friendly welcome. Ideal retreat for peace and quiet and a spot of fishing but close enough to Worcester and other attractions.

A very pleasant break from busy city life. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, with good local knowledge and advice about where to visit. The grounds were a fantastic view from the glass double doors of the apartment, and nice for a short stroll around. The apartment itself was lovely, very clean and cosy, with an open layout making it perfect for a couples retreat. Fantastic experience, and would definitely recommend.

Having just moved house we needed a bit of a break. Boy did Stile Cottage fit the bill. Our hosts were so welcoming. The cottage was perfect. Complete peace. Fishing on the lakes really good. Plenty to do in the surrounding area. We will be back.
