This self catering place has the most amenities and equipment you could wish for, plenty of room and very comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend it for a stay in Cornwall.

We have stayed here for the last 5 years. This stay was for 3 weeks and we have loved every single minute. Howard & Anne are lovely nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is clean and is lovely and warm on these cold winter nights. Its lovely and peaceful but not to far away from the coast. Can't wait for my next visit

Stayed in wheal rose for a week, what a beautifull cottage,. Has everything you need, with a little welcome pack of milk, tea and coffee plus a bottle of wine. The owners are lovely and couldn't do enough for you. If you don't have transport like us you can walk to dairy land and the bus is outside, but it doesn't run bank Holidays or Sunday. But we just got taxis which where 17 each way roughly. The bus stop is a good half an hour walk, but got us fitter. All in all we still had a fantastic time at wheal rose. Newquay was superb as well will defiantly come back.

A very comfortable and well appointed cottage which made an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Cornish coast path.

Rated by Mr Monk reviewed on 7th August 2016

The cottage is ideal for us. My wife, who is partially disabled, found that the layout of the cottage, especially the bathroom couldn't be better.

Rated by Mr Grimshaw reviewed on 10th July 2016

Just returned from a week at Wheal cottage. It is an amazing cottage, very clean and well presented and excellent for disabled guests with walk in shower room with shower seat and wide doors for wheelchair access. Attention to detail is excellent down to the essentials supplied on arrival, like tea, coffe, sugar and milk. All dish washer tablets and liquid are also provided. The only downfall is that the wifi access isnt very good and they do offer full sky package with movies, but the satalite signal goes down a lot too. But due to the excellent weather we had we were out every day. It is centrally located, with the beaches and pubs, bars and restaurants of Newquay only about 10-15min car ride away. List of local taxis in the cottage information. We also had a very warm welcome from both Mr & Mrs Farmer, the owners of the cottage. We cant wait to go back and take our daughter next time.

Wheal Rose was well laid out and easy for supporting a seriously disabled person. The owner was lovely, friendly, helpful and informative. Attention to detail ensured a safe, and beautiful cottage which made our stay one of the very best.

Rated by Mr Robinson reviewed on 17th May 2015

The cottage was very nice, well thought out and we were delighted with all the little extras that were in the cottage, making self catering easy.

Rated by Mrs Fyles reviewed on 10th May 2015

This cottage had everything required. The little touches made it all the more special, such as the games, books, DVDs, jigsaws, and the pair of binoculars to bird watch with.

Rated by Mr Wyatt reviewed on 23rd February 2015

Just returned from a week's stay in Wheal Rose. It is an amazing cottage with plenty of character and very comfortable. The location is great, being within easy reach of all the major attractions and only about 15 minutes drive to the beaches of Newquay, Crantock and further afield. The little touches made this a great stay, such as the milk, tea and coffee there when we arrived, to the binoculars for birdwatching, the DVDs, books and board games already there for the rainy days when we didn't want to leave the cottage. The whole place, the comfort, decor, and furnishings made it a brilliant stay. Of note is that Wheal Rose would be ideal for those with disabilities, as the bathroom has a walk in shower with seat, and the doors are all extra wide. Parking is also available right at the door. Thanks again to the owners who allowed us a much needed break for a reasonable price.

Our second stay at this cottage, everything in terms of fixtures and fittings is of high quality, with lots of nice little touches that made it special.

Rated by Mr Wisher reviewed on 10th August 2014

We have just returned for out second visit to Wheal Rose, and again we have only the highest praise for this property. A few things have changes since our last visit including some new furnishings, and new single bed making it capable of sleeping an additional person. The property is a credit to it's owners who have fitted it out to a high standard, and have added those "little touches" that make it feel warm and welcoming. Access is via typical Cornish lanes, but the Post Code in your SatNav should get you there without any problems. Being so close to Newquay is a major bonus, especially as we visited during the "BoardMasters" surfing and Music event. Wheal Rose is a "home from home" with everything you could need for a great stay in Cornwall. Highly Recommended!

First class location and holiday cottage, well furnished and spotlessly clean, every thing there that you need. Friendly owners.

We were very grateful for being provided with a shower chair for my disabled son. The wet room, wide access door frames and level thresholds into rooms and the gardens were perfect for us and made for a stress free holiday in relation to accessibility. The cottage was in a beautiful setting and within easy reach for exploring local beaches and towns. We had a lovely holiday, thank you!

Rated by Mr Grimshaw reviewed on 13th July 2014

The cottage and the views were stunning. We could sit outside and it was so peaceful and relaxing. With a small town only a 5 minute drive away, we had everything we could wish for. Would have loved to stay longer.

Rated by Mr Jarvis reviewed on 12th June 2014

This was our second visit to Wheal Rose and the fact that it is situated in a quiet rural setting, similar to where we live, is the main attraction for us. Also it is central for visiting the parts of Cornwall that we really like.

Rated by Mrs Brannan reviewed on 4th May 2014

We spent 4 nights at Wheal Rose in February during a week where we had some severe storms across the country. Once inside the cottage however we were warm and cosy, and felt cosseted from the outside world. The facilities were ideal for a couple, though the option of a foldaway bed in the living/dining/kitchen offers flexibility for a third adult/child. The equipment provided for self-catering is excellent, and far exceeds the amount normally allocated for a property designed for 3 people, resulting in guests being able to put the dishwasher on when it was full rather than after each meal. The property was extremely clean and sufficient space given to drying of clothing which can get wet in the showers that blow through. We hope to stay here again later in the year.

The owner was a good and friendly man. We were really impressed with the whole thing. The good comment I read about the cottage inspired me and it is home to home. We did not lack anything. We will definitely recommend Wheal Rose and be back in summer.

Rated by Mr Afolabi reviewed on 6th March 2014

The cottage was extremely well equipped and the owners thoughtfully left a variety of store cupboard and cleaning items. It was beautifully warm and welcoming.

Rated by Mrs Kemp reviewed on 15th February 2014

Spacious, well presented accommodation, relaxing and peaceful. Easy to find, not far from the main road, and yet with fantastic outlook over fields. Wider doorways and plenty of space made it easy to move around inside. A real escape from it all.

Rated by Mrs Mee reviewed on 15th January 2014

The location was perfect for us as we live in a quiet village overlooking countryside and this was in the same kind of location. The owners were very helpful and friendly, and there was nothing else that we needed in the cottage. Also it was the perfect location for travelling in Cornwall, without being in a busy environment. All being well we hope to book this property again in the future.

Wheal Rose was delightful in terms of location, cleanliness, and friendliness, and helpfulness of owners. We enjoyed every minute.

Rated by Mr Lee reviewed on 3rd August 2013

Everything was as advertised, and nothing was too much trouble for the owners, who were very friendly, but not in your face. I asked for a chair in the shower, and it was put in there straight away. As I rely on oxygen there was no problem as the owners took delivery the day before my arrival on my behalf. Everything you've got at home was there, so just unpack, and get on with your stay. I enjoyed it so much in april, I am going again in September.

Having just returned from a lovely sunny week in Cornwall with my partner, we felt we should write this review to say how lovely Wheal Rose Cottage was. Met on arrival by Mr Farmer, who kindly pointed out local amenities and had left the basics for a welcoming drink. A modern, spacious, open plan layout with everything you could need including lovely underfloor heating, which was nice to come back to after chilly, cliff walks. Ideally located for accessing all Cornwall has to offer but enough away from the busy towns to be a peaceful retreat with stunning views over the countryside. Would return again at a later date, preferably in the summer months to make the most of Cornwall's beautiful beaches. Thanks for a lovely week.
