Fantastic wee place, everything in it that you need, great garden for the dog, 2mins away from shops and pubs, already booked up for next year

Just back from a week staying in this 1 bedroom apt. Ideal base for bowness and surrounding area. The apt itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable , had everything you need . We were blessed with great weather and sat in the small garden which our dog loved. Would definately return at some point. Really enjoyed our week .

This is the second visit we have made to this apartment and it won't be our last. It is a home from home. It has everything we need. Wifi, iron, hairdryer, dvd, sky.... the list is endless. We have a dog so the small garden is brilliant. We come straight out of the apartment and into the centre of bowness we don't have to use the car if we don't want to.

Rated by BevMiller reviewed on 7th November 2016

The location of the property was ideal, only minutes from the centre of Bowness and lovely and peaceful at night. The property was clean and compact, ideal for two of us and a small dog. The patio doors opened out onto a secured enclosed garden with patio furniture, lovely for sitting out in the late afternoon sunshine.

Just home after spending 4 days (wish we could have stayed longer ) at Park View. Our children booked this for my husbands 70th birthday present as they know we love the lakes. Can't praise this wee gem of an apartment enough. Absolutely spotless and the quality of fittings throughout was exceptional. OK it's a studio but for a couple it's more than big enough, very private and the location is perfect. The weather was better than forecast, only one wipe out day, so very pleased with our stay at the Park View

Rated by jandon134 reviewed on 15th June 2016

Park View was very nice it had all you could require for a base from which to tour from we wished that the weather could have been a little kinder. The only downside to Park View was the noise from the above apartment which we imagined was their lounge kept us awake a couple of nights but maybe it was the people as well all in all very good.

Rated by Duval S reviewed on 19th April 2016

We enjoyed all of our holiday. Our home for the week Park View was amazing, we had everything we needed. It was great for the dog and in the perfect location. We would definitely love to return in the future and would recommend it to family and friends.

A lovely property in a fantastic location. It was lovely warm & cosy, with a brilliantly equipped kitchen. We loved being able to leave the car and walk to all the amenities of Bowness. Great pubs were just 2 minutes walk away.

Very comfortable ground floor accommodation and very well equipped. Close to all the local amenities of Bowness on Windermere and excellent walks for both us and the dog.

A lovely flat. In an ideal location for walking, touring and local shops. The small garden was perfect for catching the sun and totally enclosed for the safety of our dog. We will definitely go back.

Rated by Mrs Blair reviewed on 8th May 2015

Very nice property in an excellent location. The only problems we had was the noise from the accommodation above;we could hear the occupants snoring through out the night which resulted in us going home two days early as we were very tired. The other problem was the 'bedroom' which was tiny. The living/kitchen area was far too big for just two people and we couldn't see why an extra few feet couldn't be pinched from this area just to make the bedroom more accomodating. Apart from these two things the apartment was warm, clean and had everything you could need for your holiday.

A lovely apartment in a fantastic location. This is our second visit to Park View and we will be booking again really soon!

Rated by Mr Preston reviewed on 16th December 2014

Small flat but superbly equipped for all our needs. It was lovely and cosy in late November and in an excellent location.

Rated by Mrs Gregory reviewed on 30th November 2014

The apartment was perfect for our needs. It was warm, clean and private. The kitchen was well equipped with every appliance you might need and the washer/dryer was a real bonus as we had a very wet week. Instructions for all electrical appliances were in one drawer. The bathroom was spacious considering the size of the apartment and the shower was great. The lounge was comfortable and plenty big enough for two. We will certainly be using it again if we return next year, which we hopefully will. I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Rated by Mr Shanks reviewed on 2nd November 2014

It was good to be back at Park View. Since my last stay there have been some nice cosmetic changes to both the interior and exterior of the property, which is to the credit of the propriortor . I look forward to visiting again over the Xmas period.

Rated by Mr Carr reviewed on 12th October 2014

The location of the flat was excellent, Bowness town was within a few minutes walk. The standard of the flat was also very good, very nicely decorated and well equipped. We particularly liked the provision of a washing machine which enabled us to do some laundry during the week (so less of a chore when we get home!).

Rated by Mr Barfoot reviewed on 3rd August 2014

Ideal holiday property for a couple. Enjoyed a very pleasant week with everything within walking distance of the apartment. Property was very clean and in good order and parking right outside. Bedroom could do with a sliding door as not everyone goes to bed at the same time. Would recommend and definitely return when next visiting Bowness.

What a wonderful break from the rat race of life. Me and my husband stayed at park view in January 2014,although the weather had its off days this did not spoil our stay. Park View was very easy to find on our arrival and we were so pleasantly surprised of our accommodation. It was very clean, and very light , and had everything we could have needed. The space was well furnished and it had a modern beautiful kitchen, perfect for cooking those romantic meals. it was so close, a matter of 100 yards, to Bowness where you can find plenty of idyllic shops, catering for all tourists alike, from craft shops to Beatrix potter museum . There are numerous bistros and restaurants. The walks were beautiful with idyllic village pubs and cruises you can take to neighbouring villages. Park View was lovely accommodation (home)to come back to, rest and relax. Park View was perfect for us, very beautifully decorated ,quaint, very clean and very ideally situated , perfect place to stay. We couldn't recommend it enough , we will most definitely be returning. thank you web cottages

I booked this apartment based upon the price, location, photographs and the other reviews I had read on Ta. Our only concern was that it was pet friendly and whilst we are dog lovers and have owned dogs we currently do not have one and we were worried about the potential 'doggy smell'. We need not have worried. Upon arrival we found a spotless, clean apartment with no smell of animals. It was so clean I found it hard to believe it was pet friendly. I do agree that it should be listed as a studio apartment as the bedroom is split with a wall that come across 2/3 of the way with no door but that does not matter when only two of you are staying. The apartment is extremely well equipped with a kitchen not out of place in a 3 bed house. All the appliances are top notch and nothing cheap. For holiday rental we were delighted with the standard. Its location is fantastic, close to the centre of Bowness ideal for all shops, pubs, restaurants and the lake. Another plus was the key lock on the wall meaning you could leave your keys every night without worrying about losing them...in closing, spotless, very well equipped with good standard equipment, ideal location, will definately return.

Rated by Mr Stafford reviewed on 18th September 2011

My husband is disabled (ie walks with 2 sticks and sometimes uses a wheelchair) and before booking I ensure we are on one level, have walk-in shower and access is suitable. On this holiday we found there was a very steep hill leading from the apartment to the town which was totally unsuitable for my husband either with his sticks or his wheelchair. I mentioned this in a review I completed and was told by one of your staff to expect hills in the Lake District! I am aware that the area is hilly but I am also familiar with Bowness and knew that it is quite flat by the lake and park. The address of this apartment being park view I thought we were on to a winner. We did cope with the holiday but with difficulty and enjoyed ourselves. The apartment itself is lovely. What has upset us is the attitude of your staff when we mentioned this problem and as a result I am very hesitant about booking another holiday with your company.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 18th August 2011

Online booking process very easy and straight forward, once booked kept informed very well throughout as to our next steps. Once we arrived at our apartment we were very pleased. Would not hesitate to recommend Sykes cottages and the property Park View. Thank you.

Rated by Mr Proctor reviewed on 12th July 2011

The apartment is small but was well equipped with everything you need for a comfortbale stay. The kitchen is fantastic. The secure garden is also a great benefit for dog owners owners like us. The only point I would like to make is that we feel this should be classed as a studio apartment rather than one bedroom. The lack of a door into the bedroom because everything is open plan makes it more like a studio apartment. We only mention this so that you're not disappointed on arrival Other than that, this a fantastic place to stay in a great location. We would definitely book again and recommend to friends.

After reading the previous reviews, i was looking forward to a lovely clean well positoned cottage, and i wasnt wrong, this place is beautiful, so well looked after, and so comfortable. January in the Lakes was cold, but the cottage was so cozy with it remote control fires, and having sky tv was a bonus on the first and only rainy day we had on the Sunday. All in all its a really lovely place to stay. So close to everything you will need.

Very good value for money. The apartment was absolutely spotless and beautifully maintained. My thanks to the owner for helping make a brilliant holiday.

Rated by Mr Baker reviewed on 28th December 2010

This little apartment represents budget accommodation but size and budget isn't everything. What impresses when entering the apartment is the level of cleanliness and the fact that nothing seems tired or worn. After a few minutes in the apartment you begin to notice other good things: the fact that you have Sky TV, remote control lighting, a washer dryer and a dishwasher. But none of these things are fitted just for the sake of looking good on the brochure: everything is excellent quality: the washer/dryer is AEG and the dishwasher is Bosch. The owner of this place has really made an effort to make it not only welcoming but also a comfortable stay for a week or much more. When we stayed, during the big freeze of December 2010, a water pipe burst somewhere outside which caused no inconvenience except for a loud hissing of water. On contacting the owner, he visitied the property, rectified the problem and offered 'a large discount' if we ever wanted to book again. Better and cleaner than most hotel rooms and yet a fraction of the price. Oh and I forgot the location. Perfect.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 3rd December 2009

Excellent Service. Spotlessly clean, everything we needed included, comfortably furnished. 5 minutes walk from Bowness centre, 10 minutes to the lake. Great for using the lake steamers as a bus service. Bus pick up point at Lakeside, we didn't use the car all week. Plenty to do in Bowness, shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs. The lighting level was lower than we liked and we found it difficult to read without augmenting the lighting. You are working at the cooker and sink in your own shadow. We would recommend considering installing under cupboard lighting over the work surfaces and providing a reading lamp in the lounge area.
