Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Booked online, as pictured but it is next to owners property. Owners friendly and unobtrusive. Maintained to high standard. Summerhouse not as pictured (foliage growth meant it was rather shaded down there). We used it as a base for touring around Mid & West Wales for which it was ideally suited. Good space for a couple. Bathroom excellent. Overall, very satisfied and would readily consider booking again.
This was our second holiday at Cwm Derw and we will return. It was a home from home with caring hosts, for whom nothing is too much trouble. Our previous comment of 'perfectly perfect' still holds true.
It was a beautiful cottage set in beautiful surroundings. A perfect place for relaxing with wonderful views.
The cottage was wonderful with everything we needed. The location was excellent with lovely views over the countryside and lots of wildlife. The owners were very friendly and had lots of advice about the local area to help us enjoy our holiday even more. We look forward to visiting again.
What a beautiful cottage and area, if you're looking for a peaceful holiday this is the place to go. Had really nice and helpful owners, many thanks for a great week.
A wonderfully peaceful location and friendly owners.
Set in beautiful surroundings, Cwm Derw Cottage is a great place to stay. With its central location you are ideally placed to strike out to all destinations. If your into birds of prey, treat yourself to a trip to Gigrin Farm, see the sky full of Red Kites. I will be returning, loved every moment
My wife and I stayed at this cottage last weekend. WOW first impressions definately had the wow factor. Beautifully presented and very well furnished with views to die for. Had a great welcome and couldnt wait to light the very inviting log burning fire. We live in a large town so being deep into the country always offers a different life. The cottage has every thing you need with a fabulous shower, and the log burner made it very cosy and warm. The place was spotless and looked brand new. It was great to see all the different animals. Great place to visit the country, great views with a laid back feeling. Great to chill and relax and probably in the mid summer sitting on the decking with a beer would be tranquill and peacefull with no traffic noise. Will return.
WE WERE WARMLY WELCOMED BY THE OWNERS . THE COTTAGE WAS IMMACULATELY CLEAN & ALL THE BASIC DAILY FOOD REQUIREMENTS WAS THERE (BREAD,MILK,ETC.)HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Cottage was set in a beautiful location. The owners were very friendly & made us feel very welcome. Cannot recommend this place enough. Top class!!
The owners were more than helpful, the Cottage was excellent and the stay was excellent. My wife and I thoroughly recommend this Cottage.
We have just returned home from a week at this glorious place. The cottage was spotless and well furnished. We had a breakfast welcome pack, which was much appreciated. The scenery from the balcony was outstanding.Sitting by the summerhouse next to the pond with the ducks was very relaxing. Good walks from the door. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and gave us good information about trips around the neighbouring countryside. We will definitely come back another year.
Scenery was beautiful, and we knew at the end of the day we had a lovely, clean & comfortable cottage to go back to.
Beautifully presented, everything you need, stunning location. Loved all the animals !
We found the whole experience delightfully delightful and perfectly perfect.
Beautiful location, felt really welcomed by the owners.
The cottage had all we needed and the owners allowed us to unwind and relax and admire the beautiful surroundings
Very peaceful and tranquil setting with very friendly owner.
It was all wonderful...great location and beautiful surroundings.
The cottage was immaculate, well equipped and perfect for a real get away from it all holiday. The area was so peaceful. The hosts were friendly, helpful and on hand if we needed info/advice etc.
The views were fantastic, the family were very pleasant and helpful. Cottage very well furnished and provided everything we needed. Beautiful, quiet location.

Lovely decking with views. Lovely quiet location in a well furnished cottage. Would recommend!!
Beautiful scenery, friendly owners, cosy cottage.
Fantastic accommodation, beautifully maintained, great views, wonderful hosts. Peaceful location. Absolutely loved it!
A wonderful place with great hosts.
This was one of the best holiday cottages I have ever stayed in, and I am an old hand at self-catering holidays. The owners were charming and extremely helpful and interesting and obviously take great pride in their property. The kittens were cute too!
The peace and quiet of the area. The stunning views. The cosiness of the cottage. The owners being very helpful and respectful of our privacy. Loved it!
Being remote, it was very quiet and peaceful with lovely views of the countryside. Also, the owners were very friendly and helpful with any request and the cottage was lovely and warm with a cosy atmosphere. There was ample off road parking.
The location of the cottage gave us the quiet tranquility we were looking for. The hospitality of our hosts were second to none. We also loved the animal life on their 14-acre small-holding and will certainly be returning at a later date.
A beautiful cottage in a stunning location, we would recommend this cottage if your looking for somewhere out of the way with lots of peace and quiet. We would go back and stay there again!
We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the cottage owners were very friendly.
We really liked the peace and quiet, the views and the friendliness of the owners!
Wonderful walks. Nice accommodation, friendly cat and helpful neighbours.
The hosts were brilliant - absolutely lovely people. The fact they lived right there was a plus. They were easy to talk to and gave us lots of useful ideas about things to do. At the same time we felt we had our own privacy as well. The views were beautiful!
The cottage was in a very romantic setting and the owners were great. A perfect location for exploring the Brecon Beacons.
Second visit to this cottage. Same high standard as previous year. Great hosts, very welcoming and informative. Quiet peaceful location with magnificent views.
The welcome was excellent, The owners made you feel at home. The location and views were brilliant.
Had a great time and the hosts were lovely. The log burner is brilliant to snuggle up to on the cold nights. Will definitely be booking again.
The views are spectacular and really should be on your website. The property is well laid out and well insulated. The log burner was lovely and well used (we had a cold week and snow all day on Friday). Owners are lovely and very helpful - they helped us dig out on the Saturday so we could actually get home! The welcome pack was very generous and the flowers a nice extra touch. Planning to go back next Autumn.
Prepared to a very high standard, well looked after by the owners. Very pleasant views from the patio.
We had a wonderful week spent at this cottage. The cottage was spotless and all that we could hope for. The owners have a splendid place and made us feel very, very welcome. Both my husband and I were sad to leave at the end of our stay.
The location was ideal for visiting most areas of Wales. The scenery was beautiful, the cottage was very well appointed and the hosts were very welcoming.
The cottage was beautiful, everything about it was lovely and very comfortable. The views from the cottage were stunning, a very peaceful 'get away from it all' kind of place. The owners were perfect hosts, nothing was any trouble for them. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it 100%.
A fantastic cottage in a great location. The views were amazing with lots of red kites and woodpeckers flying close by. The cottage was spotlessly clean with all mod cons. Our hosts Liz and Robert were very friendly and helpful, not forgetting Joan who helped to make our stay unforgettable. The welcome breakfast gift and flowers came as a lovely surprise. To sum up - peaceful, welcoming, relaxing and an ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside. We had a brilliant week.
The cottage owners were really thoughtful. There were lots of friendly animals around to entertain our daughter. The surroundings were fantastic and there was a large, safe, decked area for our daughter to crawl around in.
Another really lovely barn conversion with beautiful views. Very friendly and helpful hosts - lots of pets. The welcome 'breakfast pack' was a nice surprise. Lovely patio with great views for a leisurely breakfast. Superb meals at 'The Prince Llewelyn'.
Fantastic views from deck.
Very pleasent hosts on site. Well equiped clean tidy cottage. Great location for wild life and walking, got up the first morning to see a Red Kite soaring above. Limited places to eat out is the only downside.
Beautiful place with beautiful views, we will be back again!!!
Lovely cosy cottage with picture postcard views. Very friendly owners.
The owners were brilliant, so welcoming, even rescued us when we got stuck in the snow. We got engaged there on New Years eve and it was the perfect setting. We will definitely be going back again. We loved it.
A beautiful cottage with the friendly owners house next to it. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and the views were really gorgeous. We had a lovely time.
The cottage was as described . the owners were welcoming, friendly and helpful. the extras on arrival were much appreciated. the cottage was beautiful, furnishings and decor of the highest finish. the location was a little out of the way , but this is what we wanted and expected. the ducks coming for breakfast each morning was a lovely touch . we would visit again with pleasure.
The "cottage" was beautifully furnished and had everything in it that we could want for our stay. The welcome pack awaiting us was much appreciated. It was in an idyllic location - and if you love animals, this is the place for you - if we could have fitted all the menagerie in our car, we would have taken them all home with us. We were made to feel very welcome and very much "part of the family". It was a great base to explore Wales - and we were blessed with glorious weather. There were two fab pubs nearby so we were spoilt for choice - no need to fire up the oven except for breakfast, which we enjoyed eating outside on the decking, taking in the wonderful landscape on our doorstep.
Location, location, location! It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. Just a couple of farms in the distance. Wildlife all around you... woodpeckers, kites, ducks, horses. It's what made the holiday. The family were very friendly and were always on hand with good local knowledge, and the accomodation they provided was finished to a high standard. The woodburner was the finishing touch - needed, even in July! My only issue was with the close proximity of their front door to our property and the lack of any real privacy, something that wasn't made clear in the advertisement.
The cottage was perfect as was the location and the animals and wildlife made even better. The surounding area was fantastic and we WILL return. We can only say thankyou to our hosts from our hearts. Neil and Eve
Excellent accommodation with excellent hosts. The views of the countryside were great and the locals were friendly. Well worth the visit and will be visiting again.
A very warm welcome from the owners. Milk, butter and a jar of marmalade was an extra welcome. The whole cottage was very good and the decking offered a fine view over the valley. Red Kites and Buzzards flying in the fields directly in front of you, what more can you ask? The Red Lion pub is a must !!
This was a lovely cottage, close to the beautiful Elan Valley. Ideal for a quiet break. There was also great food at the nearby Red Lion.
There were several features of our holiday to put in the like category: Views of the Welsh hills, from the lounge and patio were great. The welcome from the owners was equally great and there happened to be sheep dog trials next door!!!.
The cottage was fantastic and its owners were extremely friendly and hospitable. The surrounding countryside was amazing with plenty of places to eat and drink.
A good 4 star property with lovely views and a large decking area. The owners were very friendly.
The location of the property was perfect with stunning views and lots of wildlife right on your doorstep. Very friendly people and animals made for a lovely stay.
The property is excellent and well located for walking, the Elan Dams and reservoirs.
As soon as you enter the cottage it has a warm and cosy feel. We were after a nice break from London over Easter and we couldn't of picked a better place. The owners were lovely and very accommodating on our arrival. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.
An all round superb place to spend a holiday. Friendly helpful owners and the decking area is great in warm weather!
Friendly reception. Close proximity of numerous days/walks/cycles out. Cracking food in local pub - including exciting Halloween evening walk to pub!
We were personally welcomed and shown around. The welcome pack of bread, milk, juice and butter,( with tea and coffee available if necessary) was a great help as this property was extremely rural. It was an ideal position to explore both North and South, with both being within an easy drive. It was lovely to have the use of such a good kitchen and facilities, home from home.
Friendly people, lovely accommodation, beautiful views from the cottage. Marvellous landscapes and interesting places to go.
A relaxing place to be, wonderful views.
Friendliness and welcome of the hosts. small personal touches e.g. milk and bread and some breakfast starters which were provided. Excellent standard of the accommodation.
The owners were very welcoming & the property became a real home from home. Very cosy & had everything you could need. We also found it an excellent base for exploring this part of Wales which is beautiful. A very enjoyable week away thank you!
The cottage itself was lovley, very cosy with everything that we wanted. The views where lovely. The hosts were very kind and friendly. The bedroom was very comfy and the lounge cosy with the open fire. The cottage was very clean and I would love to come back.
The owners were excellent hosts. The view from the patio of the black mountains was superb and the walks and cycle routes in the vicinity were good family activities.
