Location Details
Nestling at the head of Coniston Water, the pretty village of Coniston is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lake District National Park and makes a superb base for touring, with Hawkshead, Ambleside and Windermere just a short drive away. Superb walking, mountain biking and climbing is available locally on Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam, and the lovely woodland trails at Grizedale Forest. For water sports enthusiasts the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, whilst the less active can enjoy a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht 'Gondola'.
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Swallow's Nest was very quiet and extremely comfortable. The location is just right and the view out of the bedroom window was always inviting and impressive. The spacious bathroom was much appreciated, as was the very comfortable bed and lounges. Free WiFi was excellent. Thanks a lot; we loved our stay there and would definitely come back, it was excellent value for money.

The accommodation was spotless - couldn't fault a thing. Everything worked properly and we were very comfortable. Fixtures and furnishings were all good quality and the WiFi worked well too - and a good phone signal! The location is excellent for local walks and sights and there are some lovely places to eat within an easy walk.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Swallows Nest. It was a lovely, clean, cosy cottage with everything you need. Myself and my husband would recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to visit Coniston.
An extremely well furnished and equipped apartment. A fantastic location in the town with plenty of places to eat and drink, and lots of walks without having to drive. Can thoroughly recommend Coniston as a base for exploring the Lake District.
The cottage is very well situated for touring the Lake District. It is clean and has wonderful bathroom and modern kitchen. It is well located within Coniston itself and has been modernized. It is very clean and warm.

The apartment was very central and convenient for shops and pubs/restaurants. Even though there was no allocated parking we had no problems parking on the road outside the apartment. The view from the bedroom was particularly good and even though we were next door to a café and on a main road it was quiet. The apartment was modern, very well decorated and clean and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The icing on the cake was the weather which couldn't have been better.
Swallow's Nest was the perfect Lakes location, with easy access to good walking, lovely scenery and good facilities and attractions in Coniston. The apartment was beautifully appointed with all the comforts we needed for a top week. We especially appreciated the very helpful maps, walking guides and books that were available. They really helped us plan our days out. Highly recommended.
Had a really great holiday, the flat was excellent, warm and comfortable. Every possible need was catered for and provided. The location was ideal with shops, pubs and cafes all within easy walking distance. The lakes were also within easy reach, and a great place to walk and discover the delights of the mountains and fells. I would definitely recommend this lovely holiday flat!

We were delighted with Swallow's Nest. Everything was immaculate, and there were lots of unexpected extras. The location was ideal for us, as it was close to cafes, shops etc.
This property is in a very good location. Although Coniston seems quite quiet, it was very close to several pubs serving good food and close to the shops.

Fantastic property, everything thought off right down to there being a washing up sponge etc, small details but needed. Brilliantly placed within Coniston. Ideal for both lake, village and mountain.
