Betws-y-Coed, known as the Gateway to Snowdonia, is North Wales' most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
A fantastic family cottage, we had three generations staying and the cottage was loved by all. The house is so well equipped, it is closer to going into someone's home than a holiday let. The log fire creates a lovely cosy environment in the main lounge, and having the second lounge for the kids to play in was brilliant. The bedrooms are all of a great size with plenty of storage and the beds are very comfy! For a cottage with such history the house is warm and quickly warms up once activated. The showers in both rooms were great with hot water and good pressure! The kitchen was amazing! A range cooker was great and easy to use but what we liked the most was how well equipped it was, with big pans and plenty of cutlery to feed the whole family! The outdoor area is a lovely place to spend time in, and the views from the back are gorgeous. The location is five minutes out from Betwys-coed and we were able to go anywhere from Conwy to Portmadog in less than an hour from the cottage, through some of the best country side the UK has to offer! Cannot fault this property at all, and host gave us loads of great advice prior to our holiday starting. Perfect holiday!
Liked the beautiful views from the garden and the quiet location of the property.
Superb location and a lovely cottage, could not fault our holiday.
The sitting room with the woodburner was amazingly cosy & the bed was very comfortable!
We have stayed here before and loved the location. The owners left some goodies for the children and a bottle of wine for us with Christmas card, very thoughtful thank you. We had a lovely time and even though the weather was not ideal, we managed a walk from the house and then Conwy Castle and mountain the next day.
The cottage was just what we needed for the family and dogs. Lovely location, warm and cosy. Neighbours very friendly and we had a lovely few days. WI-if free zone so the kids had to play games with us!
Beautiful views from the garden, everything we needed, had great weather too
Very comfortable property. A good situation and wonderful views from the garden.
We loved our experience. The cottage was the perfect fit for us. It was secluded, the scenery was beautiful and it was a great location to tour Northern Wales.
Location was great, cottage and garden was perfect, couldn't ask for more!
Arwel is a home rather than a holiday house! It was comfortable and very well equipped, especially in the kitchen. We really loved the location - off the beaten track, but Snowdonia and surrounds very accessible.
A fantastic character cottage in a beautiful setting. It was so comfortable with great access to beautiful Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia!
A lovely spacious cottage that is spotlessly clean, in a great location and has splendid views.
Lovely cottage. Very well equipped. Great location
The cottage was in a beautiful setting and the views from the garden were magnificent. The cottage was very homely and had everything you needed.
An amazing time with amazing friends, the cottage was just what we needed to relax after our walk up Snowdon.
A wonderful place to stay, the photos don't do it justice. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped and the lounge with wood burner was cosy. The second lounge is great for kids to use as a play room. In beautiful surroundings away from it all. Feels like you're in a second home and not just a rented cottage.
Arwel is a lovely welcoming cottage in a great location for exploring Snowdonia.
A lovely cottage, a home from home with all furnishings to a high standard. Lovely garden with outdoor furniture and BBQ, and fantastic views over the mountains.
Very comfortable and welcoming property with nice touches ie. dog towel and feeding bowl.
The cottage was lovely, in a great location and contained everything we could need.
A really comfortable and well furnished house in a great location for exploring Snowdonia and the Conway Valley.
Lovely cottage and location, close to Betws-y-Coed, which has plenty of shops and places to eat. Highly recommend.
