Reviews

Seascope far exceeded our expectations, with its best feature being the location. A stroll across the (shared) front garden are the steps leading down to the vast grassy dunes and the pebbly, dog-friendly beach beyond. Considering we were visiting in peak summer time, it was like having the beach to yourself, with other beach users just a speck in the distance. We even saw a seal pop his head out of the water as if to check us out. The property itself was tidy, light, clean and ideal for our requirements, and the view of the morning sunrise from the main bedroom was truly amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay, the chalet was clean, well stocked and the access to the beach (although a bit steep) was excellent along with the view. And the doggy was in his element on the beach. Our only disappointment was the attitude of the site manager who knocked on the door and accused us of putting dog poo bags an the wrong bin and didn't seem at all convinced when we denied it, he also spoke to someone further along and asked to inspect their doggy bags. Maybe a lesson in tact and diplomacy would help.

My partner and I stay here for a week as a birthday holiday break away, got to say it was a fantastic week, the view from all of the windows were amazing, on the first morning we laid in bed with the blinds open and watched the sunrise this was a breathtaking and so picturesque, we really couldn't wise for a better place as this cottage is dog friendly our pooch loved being a few steps next to the beach, the cottage was clean and everything we need was there, the complex is lovely and quiet and well maintained, we both would definitely love to return here.

We love the location of this holiday cottage. The facilities are excellent. We came last year and immediately booked for this year and are going to book for next year.

We loved our week here, we didn't find the beach too far, we also worked out a short walk along the cliff path to the north and go down the next set of steps you find gives quite a bit of sand. The place was clean and bright. We loved the children's outdoor toys and DVD's. We spotted a previous comment before we left regarding the shower upstairs but we found plug in the pump in the cupboard and it was the best shower ever, although the cable took a little wiggling to reach the plug socket. We would have liked a little info about the village, it would be nice if something could be written about where to find the shops/ play parks etc. There as a lot around which we found by exploring, which is fun but even just directions to the sand would enhance the stay. We would recommend this to others and if we visited the area again would certainly start with this place on our short list.

The location of the property was excellent in relation to the beach which was found at the bottom of some steps at the back of a grassed area. Amenities like shops and pubs were within walking distance through the village or via a short walk along the beautiful beach. There were absolutely fantastic sea views from the property particularly from the balcony on the first floor double bedroom - the sunrise in the mornings was a great way to start the day. An ideal property for those who have a dog as there are beach and coastal path walks on the doorstep. There were plenty of laundered towels available in the property which was a real bonus, and the property was well kitted out with other household items. We had a wonderful holiday and have recommended to family and friends. We would definitely return if the opportunity arose.

Bright holiday accommodation with amazing views. Don't be put off on arrival as you may be concerned about what you have booked. Park up and walk around to the front of the building where you have an amazing sea view which is undisturbed. The gardens are well kept and there is a private gate down to the 'living' beach. A great place when looking for somewhere to take the dog. We did come home two days early as the bed mattress was far too hard for me and the pillows are extremely flat even when folded in half - would suggest you take your own. The double bedroom has a fantastic view of the beach and the seating allows you to enjoy it either from the bedroom or balcony. Hangers in the wardrobe need to be changed as they bend almost in half when you hang a pair of trousers on them but there is plenty of storage for a holiday. You are left with a good variety of towels but would suggest you use the downstairs shower for power rather than the upstairs shower. You can walk to the Waterfront Restaurant or Sailors Inn along the coast as well as village shops. It is not a seaside village but a good location for visiting Suffolk. Would suggest you get the car to The Five Bells Inn near Southwold. Watch out for the estate caretaker who walks around ensuring all rules are obey - even though you won't have heard of them. I agree with the review in June that the place does need a clean - it was cleaner when I left it than when we arrived.

This is not a second home but a holiday home and so has little differences. For example there is no freezer and the microwave is also the grill and oven. Having said that there was everything that we needed. Seascope is on a small holiday estate that is very well maintained and peaceful. Shops (including a chippy) are half a mile away. The Waterfront Restaurant (very good and reasonably priced) and the Sailors Home Pub (busy but good food in large portions and reasonably priced) are three quarters of a mile away. The cleaning was the only slight downside - it was adequate but not as thorough as it might have been. We needed to move the settee to recover something and that hadn't been done for a while. Underneath the double bed hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner for a some time either. These were very minor points and overall the cleaning was fine. The rental price was very competitive and we'd go again.

Seascope was in a superb setting with stunning views of the sea and quick accessibility to the beach.

The location of Seascope is wonderfully quiet with a superb outlook and we loved the proximity to the extensive beach and walks, it was all very relaxing and the cottage was ideal.

We found the property lovely and clean, there is no conventional oven or freezer the area is very quiet an excellent place to take your dog really dog friendly. To reach the actually sea it was further away than it shows in the photos.Be warned to reach the beach there are several steep steps its quite a hike. . The views from this property are lovely. There are several shops nearby All in all a nice relaxing holiday

Firstly, our impression was, everything is just as the ads said, and more! There were lovely surprises in many cupboards, the special care and attention made all the difference to our stay from the outset. The location was easy to find and all the people we met were friendly. The accommodation lent itself to whatever the weather, it was up to it. The view from the main bedroom was nothing short of stunning! However, our stay was blessed with fab weather. All in all we look forward to booking again. Although we also want to try other sites, with Sykes of course. Very happy memories!

Comfortable property, good views and great walks.

Unique coastline. Good view. Not a typical beach front for bathing etc but relaxing and slightly wild. There are many historically interesting and attractive places nearby. I feel close to older cultures when I move around the churches, pubs and broads. I am a big fan of Ronald Blythe, the local author whose books have lived with me ever since I started reading him thirty years ago. I found brasses in churches that I had rubbed thirty years ago so it was pretty special.

Fantastic apartment, great view over the sea and lying in bed looking at the sea takes some beating, and the beach is just a very short walk across the grass. plenty of local shops but a very quiet location

We enjoyed it from the moment we arrived, it was better than expected. We felt whatever the weather it could not hinder any of the location's enjoyment. There were great views of the sea. The people around were friendly and even our dog loved the walks. We have stayed in many places, this must be counted in the top ten for views, amenities and general all round well-being.

Good views of the sea and the location around the property. The beds were very comfortable and the bed linen and towels were excellent; lovely and warm for a winter stay and there was plenty of hot water. This was our second stay and we will be back again.

We loved the location and how comfortable the cottage is. It really felt like a home from home. It was nice to have the Co-op nearby and the big Morrisons just up the road. The views are amazing and direct access to the beach was a great plus. We would definitely stay here again.
