Even though the weather was not the best ((plenty of Rain & Drizzle) it was in January ), we have just come back from a fabulous break, plenty of places locally to eat etc. Brock Barn Cottage is a wonderful find, ideal for a base to explore this part of Cornwall. The cottage was well equipped and had everything anyone could have needed. The welcome was not just friendly, it was superb. Added to this a lovely hamper, which was ideal for us. The cottage was warm, (much needed in January). We will visit again

Can only say what a unique & very clean barn conversion that made us feel that the occomadation was home from home in these crazy times of 2020, a very relaxing stay with fantastic views of rolling cornish countryside with the bonus of views from the lounge room of baby chick Woodpeckers and various song birds feeding from the bird feeder, the barn is in an ideal location to visit Fowey, Charlestown Padstow & Port issac ect with fantastic beaches shops and towns that have been covid 19 managed correctly, thanks once again Michelle. Thankyou

Our 19 year old daughter joined my husband and I for a lovely week at Brocks Barn. The cottage is a beautiful barn conversion with a fabulous skylight in the high ceiling in the lounge room which not only bathes the room in fabulous light but also keeps the room lovely and cozy. Michelle met us and showed us how everything worked. The cottage is very well equipped and there was not a mark on any of the paint work. Everything looked brand new. Michelle provided us with a lovely welcome basket and there were mini bottles of toiletries in the bathroom. The second bedroom was perfect for our daughter. The location was superb as it was an easy drive to just about anywhere in Cornwall. In fact, we traveled as far afield as Land's End. The approach to the cottage down a narrow country lane meant that there was no traffic noise - only the occasional car from a neighbouring property and a few people on horseback.

Our first stay in a Sykes Cottage and we were not disappointed. We'll be staying in cottages wherever possible now instead of going to hotels. Our host was very welcoming. Brocks Barn was in beautiful surroundings with several popular destinations nearby.

An excellent property to stay in, nice and warm for winter. Each time we saw the owner she asked us if everything was ok. The views were lovely and we enjoyed the birds feeding outside and the wildlife, pheasants, squirrels and chickens. Centrally placed for a less commercialised Cornwall. We will definitely visit again.

We wanted a quiet location to relax and unwind, and Brocks Barn proved to be exactly what we wanted. The cottage is comfortable, spotlessly clean, and the welcome from the owners lovely. The wildlife, especially the birds were amazing, and we would come again just to see them. The welcome hamper when we arrived was very impressive, we especially appreciated the local produce in it, and the owners were on hand to happily advise on local attractions. This is the best cottage we have ever rented, and we certainly plan to return as soon as possible!

Myself, my mother and my 8 year old daughter stayed in the lovely Brocks Barn this summer. Perfectly located for all the day trips we wanted to do, including Eden (twice). A very well presented two bedroom barn, all on one level, so perfect for my mother. The lovely welcome pack of milk, bread and some goodies was perfect after a 6 hour drive down to Cornwall. Sitting watching the beautiful birds on the feeder was a real highlight. Such a stunning setting, so quiet and relaxing. The owners was so helpful and friendly, I would highly recommend this lovely barn for a trip to Cornwall.

Rated by Sarah B reviewed on 25th September 2013

Wow, well what can I say about Brocks Barn? I don't think there are enough nice words to describe everything about our stay at Brocks Barn. We arrived early and were greeted by Michelle who showed us around the cottage. Not only were we shown around but Michelle also discussed various ideas of things to do while in town which was great considering we had a 5 year old to keep entertained. The cottage was stunning inside and out. There was not a mark or a speck of dust anywhere and this is a credit to Michelle's hard work and commitment. Being only a 2 minute drive from the lovely little town of Lostwithiel was perfect, plenty of restaurants and things to do. But this was also a great central location for Bodmin, the Eden Project, Restormal Castle and many more. The welcome hamper left by Michelle for us (and all guests I assume) was great as well. Was just a shame my partner is 7 months pregnant so we couldn't enjoy the wine. Brocks Barn will always hold great memories for me as it was where I proposed to my girlfriend while watching a meteor shower!!! I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and everyone. You really could not find a better cottage, owner or location. Thank you Michelle and family for letting us stay :)

The location of the property was quiet with countryside and wild life abounding, but still within easy access of many attractions. The owners were most welcoming, without being intrusive and their gift of a substantial welcome pack made for a lovely beginning to the holiday. The owners had obviously thought of all the possible details and needs of occupiers and the conversion had been carried out to a very high standard.

We were greeted by the lovely owner Michelle who showed us round the property and made us feel at home. A lovely touch was the welcome basket filled with goodies such as Cornish biscuits, fresh baked bread, local eggs, bottle of wine etc. A very good start to the holiday! The cottage was lovely inside - very light and airy. Lovely bathroom with a good shower and bedroom with a very comfy bed. The location is amazing down a very narrow country lane (in fact I did wonder if we were driving down a private driveway at one stage!) The cottage overlooks open countryside and has the added advantage of a well stocked bird feeder right in front of the patio window - very entertaining whilst eating your breakfast or having a G&T; in the evening. We really loved this cottage and the location (good for visiting all the sights) and are hoping to return next year.
