A perfect find for our needs (travelling sports team). Lots of space and activities. Well equipped and well priced. I had some trepidation being responsible for booking the accommodation, but the feedback from the rest of the party was universally positive. The big tables were great for our breakfasts and takeaways (many options in Old Colwyn), and we were lucky enough to have the weather to use the outside tables. Plenty of bathrooms, with good quality showers. WiFi was reliable, in spite of the number of users, and having Netflix was an added bonus. Would definitely hope to stay here again should we return to the area.

We stayed at the Ship Inn with a group of friends in May, and had an absolutely incredible time. Reading some of the reviews, I was a bit nervous about whether the house would suit all of our needs, but I couldn't have been happier on arrival, and would 100% recommend this property to anyone looking for somewhere to host a large group. The house is even bigger than the pictures suggest, it was clean and tidy on arrival, the kitchen was excellently stocked and the bedrooms were nicely made up with towels and linen. That's without even mentioning the massive TV, two sitting rooms, pool and table football tables, outdoor seating space and a separate garage with a table tennis table! With a large group the house is big enough for people both to have their own privacy and to eat and spend time together without anyone feeling left out. Mark and the team were friendly and helpful to communicate with throughout the booking process and made us feel welcome and trusted in their house. I had searched for months to find a location or holiday home which would sleep thirty people, and I'm so happy that I discovered the Ship Inn. It met every single one of our needs, was easy to find and access, and close to beautiful beaches and amenities - what a gem! I am definitely thinking of returning to the Ship Inn in the future with family or friends, or to explore one of the other Huge Holiday Homes the team have available!

We have just celebrated an 80th birthday with a large family gathering. It was a great venue and eveyone - over 3 generations - found it comfortable and friendly. The duvets were really warm; the facilities good and the pool table was a highlight! We found the Co-op - just across the road - really good, especially its very long opening hours and the ability to buy delicuious croissants etc for breakfast every moring! Buses to Llandudno and Conwy are excellent. We were gratefgul to Mark who came and fixed a few small problems for us when we arrived on Friday evening.

We have just returned home from a weekend at the ship celebrating my sons 21st birthday with 30 of our family. What an amazing beautiful house! We had a brilliant time, and the house had everything that we could possibly need for every age. A big thank you to Kerry the housekeeper who was very helpful at the end of the phone at the weekend, and thank you Mark for letting us stay in your gorgeous house! We will be back! Returned from a weekend here celebrating our dads 60th, 28 of us in total plus 3 dogs. We expected chaos and bedlam but thanks to the large house we all left with our sanity in tact. The house was well suited for large parties with children and we had a whale of a time exploring the local village. The kids loved the table football and basketball and the adults loved the hidden ping pong tables, large sofas and projector screen! We all slept really well with super comfy beds and well equipped rooms which was a bonus. The whole place is well equipped meaning we had everything we needed, the kitchen and dining room were big enough for us to enjoy some pizza making on the Saturday night, the local takeaways were enjoyed on the Friday evening and were lovely- a special mention to the nearest chip shop which was top notch. My sister did the arranging and communication with the owner and he could not do enough for us, making sure everything was ready and the rooms were set up as we needed. Even rented us an extra high chair! We only had one tiny niggle which would have made life easier for us if the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs locked properly and the door out to the back door corridor closed properly as it was a pain trying to keep dogs in and downstairs and the younger children contained. I bet the owner would have come out and tried to sort this if we’d called him but we certainly weren’t going to interrupt his weekend when we were so happy with the house and in the grand scheme of things it’s insignificant. Already looking for celebrations we can use as an excuse to return, if they’ll have us!

21 adults, 2 babies and 1 dog. Stayed for a weekend to celebrate my husband's 30th. Guests were aged 0-75 and all enjoyed the stay. Lovely location. 20 minute walk to the beach, shops in Colwyn to browse also useful Aldi and Co-op nearby. Great for a party we got a buffet from local cafe/ catering company Country Taste for Saturday night, local takeaways nearby too. Comfy beds, many bathrooms (all clean and working) and a very well equipped kitchen. Washer and dryer was handy with a newborn. Pool table and football table well used as well as board games. People could easily get about fir days out in Colwyn Bay, Snowdonia, Llandudno and a track day at Anglesey Circuit. We only wished we had booked it for a week not just a weekend!

So lovely to be able to play table football, pool, basket ball & table tennis for kids & adults sharing family times and catching up. Plenty of bathrooms and beds very comfy. Co op & Aldi a few steps away if you have forgotten anything! Our 2nd stay at this fabulous place.

We have just returned home from a long weekend at the Ship Inn. 25 of us stayed as part of a yearly get together. The Ship provided everything we could have asked for a stress free and enjoyable trip away. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need. The pool table was in constant use as was the table tennis table in the out building. The sitting areas were spacious and comfortable for a large group of people and we are planning to return next year. Thank you to the team at the The Ship Inn.

24 of us stayed for a week. The boys aged 3-10 enjoyed sleeping in the dormitory and the adults drew names out of a hat for the lovely room with four poster and ensuite! My husband and i were blessed with it . There is also another large room on the top floor, while the rest are ordinary double rooms, perfectly adequate for sleeping! The kitchen diner works well, with room for our size of group to all sit round the tables. The main sitting area is spacious too, although lacking windows and this is where the projector is for the large screen. The outside area has the potential to be a lovely space with a bit more work. As it is, there are picnic tables and barbecues and we enjoyed being outside together for a couple of meals. There is lots to do close by, and it's great being able to walk to the beach and other pleasant walks. Snowdon is within easy reach too, which makes a change from the seaside.

Celebrated my 50th birthday at this Ship Inn with 30 members of my family ranging from age 4 to age 60. The house is perfect for such an occassion with plenty of space for all. The pool table and table tennis were a hit with everyone and the bunk room was ideal for the children/teenagers in the party. The house was clean and the facilities were spot on. I am sure we will be returning for future family celebrations.

The house was so spacious and extremely well equipped, everyone loved it. The location is also excellent with shops, supermarkets, pubs and all manner of takeaways just minutes away.

Where to start? 27 of us from 7 months to 70 and we were all blown away! Kids loved the big dorm (some sleeping was done), we all loved the sky tv and the projector, and the beds were fantastic. Even with this many occupants the house still felt big with loads of space for everyone. Two dishwashers is a genius idea. We had some rain which kept us inside for a while but with the pool table and all the other distractions nobody was short of something to do. We planned a wild west murder mystery for one night and that was great - all the charity shops for miles knew us by name! This is a perfect venue for big families, class touches that make the stay special, but nothing precious that you're afraid to relax and live there. No hesitation in coming back whatsoever, if the Sheriff hasn't caught us by then!

We stayed at the ship for a week 12th Dec for my husbands surprise 40th birthday! I still can't believe we managed to keep it a secret for a year and actually pulled it off to perfection it couldn't have gone any better. My family arrived before us and accessed the ship by code, they were able to decorate the downstairs with photos, banners and balloons which we had arranged to be delivered by Sandra at Clown Around just up the road which is good to know if you want somebody local to deliver balloons and reasonable to. All we needed then was the guest of honour who thought was going away with just me for a quiet romantic weekend in a remote cottage (something we have done before so easy to trick him). I delayed our travel by telling him the cottage had had a power cut and the owner had asked if we could come later and call in the pub he runs to collect the keys. He totally fell for this hook line and sinker and at 7pm we arrived at The Ship! I stopped at the services ten minutes before to make a call to family to get ready as we were nearly there. Outside The Ship he reluctantly wanted to stay in the car and wanted me to run in for the non-existent keys. I had a wobble at this point as I had to get him inside but he didn't want to leave the dog in the car. After a mini disagreement with my defence as I don't like walking in pubs alone he reluctantly got out to come with me. Heart was in my mouth at this point as I encouraged him to push the front door which leads to the main lounge area. Party poppers went off and cheers went up (they had the ligthts off) as he pushed the door open! His first reaction wasn't good as he thought we had walked in on a private event and ruined somebody else's surprise, then the lights went up and he focussed in on the family faces and realised we had got him good and proper, it was brilliant and so glad I did it. He had the most amazing time partying, relaxing watching footy on the humongous projector screen and spending time as a large family. Cannot fault the ship, yes it had a few leaky radiators in a few bathrooms but nothing is perfect and nothing ruined our stay. I was surprised at some of the petty complaints in the guest book as it's over 100 year old probably listed building which has been tastefully upgraded. All the bathrooms were modern and clean, everybody commented how comfortable the beds were, being zip locked beds we expected them not to be but couldn't fault them. The kids loved exploring and we had the most funny murder mystery game on the Saturday which my brother arranged. It is the ideal place to play a murder mystery game as there are so many rooms. The log burner kicks out powerful heat and wall radiators keep you nice and toasty so don't worry about being cold and the lovely down duvets were a hit with many guests vowing to go home and switch to them. The kitchen communal area is just fantastic, very adequately equipped and just a lovely space to be together. We did our own buffet on the Saturday night, both Tesco's and Icelands deliver here which made life easy as I ordered the week before. I could go on and on about the Ship as we had the best time, most of the guests left on the Sunday with a few staying on the rest of the week with us which was nice and chilled. The only negative I have which would improve the Ship is some outdoor lighting at the back door for the smokers and also if you have a dog so you can see where they are doing their business. Mark was great to deal with, and promptly replied if we had any problems, we had slight issue getting the projector to come on it seems to be connected to the light switches but we figured it out. To sum up the Ship Inn is the ultimate venue to be together as a group and we were all ages and everybody had a great time. Thanks Mark for providing a great place to party at a reasonable cost.

This was one of the very few places that we found that could accommodate the number of people we wanted to get together. We had people ranging in age from 1 to 88, with people coming and going during the week. It was excellent for our group. The facilities were spot on, clean comfortable bedrooms, plenty of storage in the kitchen and lots of space for feeding large numbers of people. The large lounge and games were brilliant for the younger ones in the party, while the smaller lounge upstairs provided a quieter area for others. Best of all was the price. When shared out it was extremely good value. The only down side: the distance we had to travel to it! I would thoroughly recommend this place.

Property is ideal for big groups as a party house or for family groups. We are a group of 15 adults and 11 children (ranging from 3 weeks to 7 years!) The property was fantastic as it has lots of room for children to roam and adults to sit and chat. The kitchen was a lovely space and the upstairs lounge was very cosy. The downstairs living space was huge and a bit industrial. The kids loved the games area and the projector for films. All the bathrooms appeared new and very clean. The bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor were all lovely, the downstairs rooms were slightly less welcoming (2 by the front door and one off the games area) but were very functional. Mark was really easy to communicate with and phoned to make sure that we were happy when we arrived. Any issues that we had he quickly resolved. The kitchen was missing a few bits (corkscrew being the main issue!) Mark said to get what was needed and settled up with us at the end of the holiday. The tumble dryer didn't work, which with a newborn was a bit of an issue, but once Mark was aware he arranged with the local laundrette to dry it for us at no cost to us. We couldn't have asked for more. It was a great holiday (my son says you will love it!)

Well equipped, close to shops (including good chippy), friendly & helpful owner. We were looking for a place for up to 30 of us. As it turned out there were only 18 but it would have been ok for 30. We were a mixed group ranging from 4 years to 71 years old. It was great.

We liked the space that the property gave us. The town centre location was for us very good, particularly as it was good for food shops, takeaway food shops and just a few minutes walk from the beach. We liked the fact that Old Colwyn is central to several nearby towns so we could visit them without spending a lot of time travelling and it did not cost a lot in fuel. Our grandsons had a marvellous time.

Dog friendly property with enclosed garden - make as much noise as you like without disturbing anyone. Loads of bedrooms, comfortable beds, good sized dining space. 2 dishwashers and loads of glasses. The snooker table got lots of use. Good base for Conway, Llandudno and Snowdon.

We loved the fact that we could easily sit and eat at the same time and cook for so many. A wonderful short break!

Booked this property for a birthday celebration. Great location easy for family travelling over from Ireland. Had great communication in advance with the owner who informed me of key collection. Arrived earlier than had thought and the cleaners were still there. They were very welcoming and didn't mind us being there. The lovely lady even gave me a guided tour. The house is amazing. Is has great character and so spacious. We had a party planned for the weekend for over 25 people. The house has been refurbished but not too modernised, it has a homely feel to it. We partied on the Friday and dined on the Saturday. The house has everything you need to cater for these occasions. Highlights: 2 TV rooms - great when 25 people are feeling a bit delicate and need room to chill out. large, spacious kitchen, 2 dish washers, 2 fridge freezers plenty seating The dorm room - loved by the younger members of the party (aged between 16 - 21) Huge master bedroom bagsied by myself and husband during the guided tour. Pool Table and area - we set up a band here and still had room to dance All rooms were spotlessly clean and beds made up. We only had one query over the weekend, which was with the gate. I called the owner, Mark, and he reassured me a repair had been booked and that he was sorry this had not been seen to before we arrived. After a fabulous weekend of partying by Monday we were down to 4 people and the house was the perfect place to spend a week relaxing. The house is within walking distance of all amenities and with a good number of takeaways we had a week of no cooking :) My birthday celebrations were made even better by being here. The Ship Inn is not a hotel its a home from home for large groups to get together and have a great time. We will definitely book here again for our family gatherings and have already recommended the place to others

Just come back from a weekend stay at the Ship Inn, some of my family are taking advantage of the place for longer. The Ship Inn is a converted pub that is now a brilliant place for large groups or extended family to spend time together. the location is wonderful with local walks along the promenade. Also greatly accessible for many local attractions. The property itself has been renovated to a high standard but has kept plenty of the old charm of the building. 2 living room, a huge kitchen and a massive projector wall for the TV meant even in the house we were left with plenty to do. Even better was a pool table which all the lads enjoyed. I cannot rate this place highly enough.

I stayed at this property over New Years and it's fantastic! The property was originally an old pub apparently and has recently been fully refurbished to a high standard. The kitchen is fully equipped and we liked the fact that the downstairs is totally open plan - ideal for larger parties. There are bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor for some of our less mobile friends which was fabulous. The kids really enjoyed the "bunk" room and the adults made the most of the snooker table! It's also in a great location, close to Conwy and Colwyn Bay. I have booked to return again later in the year.
