What a place! Private, peaceful, beautiful surroundings. The barn was well equipped with everything we needed and the hamper on arrival was a lovely touch, fresh coffee and eggs, marmalade, milk, homemade bread, butter, bacon...how thoughtful. We visited and hiked around Elan Valley, Brecon Beacons, Ludlow and locally ‘water-break-its-neck’ (walked from local Fforest Inn). The bath and log burner were a treat to look forward to after a long hike. The Fforest Inn did wonderful food (homemade chips) also The Hundred Inn but we did prefer The Fforest. Sue and Dave were really lovely, left us in peace but were happy to help if ever needed. They even gave us some puppy pads as we were picking up our puppy on the way home. Would love to return so hopefully our pup will become a well behaved dog and we can all go again. Couldn’t have had a more relaxing stay, thank you Sue and Dave xx❤️

Had a fantastic week at the barn, arrived to a warm welcome from Sue and the dogs, The welcome hamper had us off to the butchers first thing on Saturday, Sue's bread was delicious. The hens came regular as clockwork for their breakfast crumbs, our thankyou for their fresh delicious eggs. We came for a relaxing week and certainly got one, the barn was bigger than i expected and beautifully done out, the bed so comfy and the log burner was a lovely treat in the evenings. The views and surrounding countryside were beautiful and watching all the birds on the feeders was a treat. We pottered around the surrounding areas, during the day and relaxed in front of the log burner in the evenings, perfect! Sue and Dave couldnt have been nicer hosts, we will definitely be returning

You must go to this property, it is absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived the owners made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage itself is decorated beautifully and the added touches like the welcome hamper full of goodies really made the stay extra special. The location of the property is perfect for a relaxing break away. We were very sad to leave!

We have stayed here before. We have been staying in this type of accommodation for twenty plus years and it is unusual for us to go back to any holiday cottage unless we found it to be especially good. The Barn at Glanour is certainly one of the best all round packages we have experienced. We are quite likely to book again.

The property was absolutely stunning with everything supplied for us during our stay, the break was one of the most relaxing we have ever had. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts which made us feel more than welcome. We will be returning to this great place later on in the year.

We booked this lovely barn conversion to celebrate my wife's special birthday, and from the moment we arrived we knew it was going to be perfect. Sue met us,and handed the keys over and showed us in,explaing how things worked,we felt very welcome After she left,we had a bit of a reccy, and found a super welcome hamper, the free range home produced eggs were delicious not to mention, bread, marmalade, butter, bacon and milk As the barn is in quite a remote location, self catering is the obvious choice, and we couldn't think of anything we needed during are whole stay,it really is that well knitted out. The bed was super comfy,I slept like a log. And then as if things couldn't get any better,on the big day,(birthday). Sue popped round with a homemade cake, complete with candle playing happy birthday tune. We thankyou Sue and Dave, for making our stay so memorable, hopefully we will return one day,but until then, take care and all the best. Colin,Sally & Alfie the cocker poo

We booked this barn for a new years break for my husband myself and our dog, a three night break to escape reality and that is exactly what we got! There was a lovely welcome hamper for us and even some dog treats! The owners really have thought of everything with this barn, a log burning stove (with the first basket of wood provided), a luxurious bath overlooking the amazing window so you can see the beautiful countryside as you relax, so many DVDs and books to choose from and a kitchen with everything you could think of needing. It is in the middle of nowhere with at least a 15 min drive to the nearest shop. We did enjoy a walk in the countryside even though the weather was awful the whole time we were there. We would love to return to enjoy more walks with the dog and make the most of the lovely outside space.

The Barn was an absolute dream to stay in, and the area was very central to Mid Wales for exploring. The owners were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them, they were very knowledgeable about the local area and were able to recommend some excellent places to visit. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wishes to visit Wales.

My boyfriend booked our stay as a birthday present and it was perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better present. The location is so peaceful and as we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome from Sue. When we went into the barn we were instantly impressed. The welcome hamper of flowers, eggs, butter, bread, marmalade and coffee was lovely - a really nice touch. We felt at home straight away and it was so quiet; perfect to relax! The kitchen facilities were brilliant to save money and cook your meals. The bedroom was fantastic, the bed was very comfortable for a good night sleep and the bath was an added luxury overlooking the fields. The surrounding wildlife is something we enjoyed along with Sue and Dave's friendly dogs! We explored the area including the Black Mountains, Élan Valley and Water Break Its Neck - all fantastic! After the day of exploring it was perfect to come back to the barn and unwind. We put the fire on one evening which was gorgeous. Sue and Dave do everything to make you welcome and have some great suggestions on places to visit. After mentioning that my boyfriend was starting a new job, when we left Sue and Dave gave him a card to say good luck. Really lovely couple and a really lovely place! Would love to go back.

We found The Barn at Glanoer to be absolutely perfect for us and our dog. Inside the first impression is welcoming, practical and comfortable but very attractive. The owners are really nice people and they have everything just right. The Barn is very private and not overlooked. We spent most of the week at The Barn. It was so pleasant and relaxing there that we found no incentive to go anywhere else.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and were greeted by Sue and the dogs, a very warm welcome. Sue had left a welcome pack consisting of fresh eggs from her chickens, fresh baked bread, home made marmalade, tea, coffee and butter. the accommodation was just perfect. A lot of thought had gone into the design of the barn conversion. Dave and Sue have achieved a very high standard, you would be hard pressed (or very picky) to find fault. The setting is idealic and very peaceful. Abundant wildlife can be enjoyed including great spotted woodpeckers, Red Kites, Buzzards, and a host of garden birds. It is the perfect location to explore Mid Wales as once onto A roads there is so little traffic, it does not take long to get anywhere. A most relaxing week and this property is well recommended.

What a wonderful relaxing escape. Sue and Dave have made The Barn at Glenoer so welcoming it's hard to leave; from the welcome hamper with homemade marmalade and eggs from the free range ladies to soaking in that roll top bath while experiencing the views through that window. Your every comfort is catered for. The area is perfect for exploring further afield too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend The Barn at Glenoer particularly for pet owners as our dog loved it too.

The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. The hamper of bread, eggs etc was perfect and we loved the treats and toys left for our dog. We also asked for a meal to be provided on the evening of our arrival (as offered on the Glanoer website). This was excellent. Everything was done to make our stay as restful and comfortable as possible. It was no hardship to curl up on the comfy sofa while the rain lashed down outside and watch the numerous birds on the feeders outside our windows.

Hate writing this review because selfishly we don't want anyone else to book this hidden gem. However, we feel we owe it to Two lovely people Susan & Dave.(Your hosts at Glanoer) From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Susan showed us round the barn which is outstanding. There was even a complimentary welcome basket with fresh eggs laid by 'The Glanoer girls' ( the chickens), butter, a loaf of bread, milk in a jug in the fridge and a packet of bacon. Tha views from the windows which cover both levels of the barn are beautiful. Watching the birds feeding from the bird feeders strategically placed right in front of the barn whilst eating breakfast brings its own peace and calm much needed from our hectic lives back home. Although the barn has central heating for those colder evenings its much more fun to light the log burner which is easy to do even if you were never in boy scouts or girl guides. The bed is so comfortable we didn't want to get out of it. The wet room is far easier to use than a shower although for those who like to bathe, a cute roll top bath in the bedroom overlooking the hills is a treat. If you're a dog lover you'll love Poli & Kiti (Susan & Daves) wonderful pets. So lovable and will gladly tag along for a walk in the fields with you if you so wish. Susan and Dave were in the process of building a pond whilst we were there which we're sure will add to the overall feel of being at one with nature. There had also been concrete evidence of dog otters at Glanoer. For those who want get away from the stress of city life or just to use as a base for visiting the area, then we're sorry to say, Glanoer is simply 'Perfect'!

Near to Builth & Llandrindod for larger food shopping if you need anything. Everything at hand in the cottage,wi-fi good,TV modern,iPod dock & player, but we loved switching everything off (apart from the log burner) and just sitting there enjoying the moon & stars, would highly recommend and congratulations Sue & dave on a smashing place xx

Great base for hiking the surrounding areas, a very relaxing place in a lovely location. The hosts were very helpful and not intrusive in any way. It was great to wake up every morning and look out from the (very comfortable) bed, to see the dawn breaking through the full length glass front, then to sit and watch the many different types of bird that came in to feed from the nut feeders. It was hard to drag ourselves away from this fascinating viewing. Then when we returned after our days hiking, it was great to relax in front of the log burner and watch the stars with a nice glass of wine. Everything we needed was at hand and the owners were great at supplying information about the local area. To sum up, a beautiful place to stay with really lovely people to give you any help or information you require.

My girlfriend and I had planned a gorgeous sun filled week away in Greece, plans changed and I began to look for a cottage break in the UK. The first thing I saw of Glanoer was the roll-top bath situated on the bedroom mezzanine in front of a two story window that framed the beautiful Welsh countryside. I was sold and booked 8 days at the start of August. Expert directions (courtesy of the hosts) had us comfortably cruise through beautiful Wales and arrive at the Glanoer farm early evening. Upon arrival we were met by the wonderful Sue Stone who after making us feel welcome and at ease, preceded to show us all we would need to know about the barn. Our new home for the week was spotless, modern but with tons of period features and old world charm not to mention ridiculously well appointed. Anything you could ask for was there at hand. A beautiful gift basket with eggs laid by the farms own fabulous Glanoer girls, homemade marmalade and freshly baked bread was just the first of many surprises. During our stay our hosts were on hand if ever we required anything but the best thing they offered was privacy. We felt like we were completely alone at times, apart from the birds, butterflies and occasional rabbit that is. We cooked, ate by the babbling brook in the dying sun and then lit the wood burner and watched movies on the comfy sofas and big screen tv. Heaven. Leaflets provided by our hosts led us to a number of walks and days out namely, renting a boat on the Brecon canal. We could not have wished for a more beautiful place to spend our holiday. We will definitely be returning to where we both spent the best holiday we have ever taken.

There are so many positives to this place, I'm not sure where to start so I'll just start at the beginning! We arrived last Friday to the barn and were immediately welcomed by the owners Sue and Dave and their very friendly dogs. The place itself was stunning - totally out in the countryside where all you could hear were the birds and the trickling stream. The barn, which is attached onto the main house, was immaculately clean, and yet felt very warm and homely. My favourite thing about the barn was the view out onto the gardens and fields. Waking up in the morning and being able to see nothing but greenery and sunshine was just perfect. To make our stay even more memorable, Sue and Dave had provided us with a beautiful hamper full of homemade goodies - the orange marmalade and the seeded bread were very much enjoyed! As well as this, there were also some lovely treats left out for our dog Bertie, who, like us, had an absolutely fantastic time frolicking around the fields and investigating new areas. There are some great walks in the local area if that is the sort of thing you or after. Likewise, if you want to go a bit further a field, there are lots of good drinking spots and quirky shops to explore in Llandrindod Wells and Hay-on-Wye. All in all, this is a great place to recharge your batteries and we certainly can't wait to return.

We also really appreciated the company of the resident doggies and also the chickens (thanks for the eggs girls). We have just got back from a weeks stay in the Barn. Pictures do not do it justice. although small in size, it felt, because of design extremely spacious. The views from the floor to roof pentagon shaped window, which occupied most of the end wall, were delightful. We were able to watch birds such as, greater spotted woodpecker, redstart, pied fly catcher, dipper , nut hatch come into the garden and the stream running through it, from this window. The downstairs was open plan with a wet room, powerful shower and toilet. Upstairs a mezzanine super king size bed with a freestanding roll top bath. Everywhere was tastefully furnished Primarily we were on a walking holiday and this did not disappoint but even on the one extremely wet day we experienced it was great to stay in and watch the rain, reading our books in comfort. The welcome we all received was extensive including that given to our well behaved dog she also enjoyed her stay! We cannot recommend this more highly

This small barn has been really stylishly renovated. It's beautiful. The mezzanine bedroom is very special - waking up to the view from the enormous window is truly good for the soul. Everything in the barn is new, high quality and clean, and great thought has been put into ensuring that you are really comfortable. Sue and David are just lovely - they are welcoming and helpful. Lots of local knowledge and helpful advice. Sue's home made bread is part of the welcome hamper which is a stunner - bread, home made marmalade, butter, eggs, bacon, milk and filter coffee. Wonderful. Probably the highlight for me was the view. To be able to sit with a coffee and watch a woodpecker come back and forward for peanuts, to watch sheep wandering about and the soppy and affectionate dogs lollop around was so relaxing and joyous.

From the warm welcome and the most generous welcome pack I have ever received in 15 years of holidaying at cottages to the extremely thoughtful dog welcome pack to the lovely fluffy towels and bathrobes this is a couple who know all about catering to their guests needs. The Barn has been architecturally modernised but retained a warm and rustic feel which gives it a unique and special charm. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage and know that the dogs and I will be back.

The impression of space both inside and outside this property means that you will not feel the need to venture very far. It is very much a getaway, peaceful location but with two large supermarkets and a number of restaurants in nearby Llandrindod Wells a beautiful six mile drive away, you are not too isolated. We understand that we were the very first self catering guests to stay at The Barn,as the Farmhouse already offers B &B; and we are sure it will it will quickly become fully booked. If you remember fondly how bright the stars used to seem at night then this is the spot for star gazing.

The accommodation has been skilfully converted to make it feel very spacious. Outside felt the same, with a large sheltered patio and a private garden area with a stream. This meant that if the weather forecast was not so promising, one felt happy just pottering around and watching the birds through the gable end of the barn which is all glass. If it was a clear night the stars were amazingly bright. A great all year round getaway location.

If you're looking for a quiet and secluded spot to get away from then look no further. By their own admission the owners, Sue and Dave, are new to B & B and that could be what makes them so keen. Nothing was too much trouble and we were really well looked after. We chose to have breakfast in the house rather than cook ourselves - excellent decision on our part. Sue has great attention to detail and we think that this B&B; has a great future. Recommended!!!
