Kent is affectionately known as the Garden of England. Its history and heritage provide the region with a rich array of sightseeing possibilities, while the stunning choice of Blue Flag beaches offer the chance to enjoy the beautiful coastline.
A quaint & characterful cottage originally built for railway staff it is not the biggest property but more than adequate, Briony the cottage owner is on hand to welcome you to the cottage with a basket of essentials. to the rear of the property is a sun trap garden with seating & quite private in its aspect. if i had any qualms regards this property it would be the two seater chesterfield which is looking a little tired.
The location of the cottage was excellent for travelling around Kent. The cottage was stunning, so well looked after. Every room was beautifully decorated and the garden was lovely. It was so quiet too, giving us time to relax. We felt very pleased with our choice and will certainly be back to this charming little gem of a cottage.
Quality of the accommodation and the location were both excellent!
Our third visit to this wonderful cottage. Perfect location to explore Kent and beyond. Perfect cottage for 2 people to enjoy a relaxing holiday.
Loved the cottage and its close proximity to local pubs, Canterbury and surrounding coastal resorts.
This cottage was fabulous for us. The owner of the property was so lovely and kind and it was much appreciated. The cottage was quaint and it was obvious that everything in it had been carefully considered. I'd highly recommend it. Thank you!
A charming house which was very well equipped and in a perfect location for driving, taking the train or walking into Canterbury and other places.
We both love the cottage! It is perfect for touring round Kent. There is everything we need in the cottage, it was our second holiday here, and definitely not our last! As long as the cottage is available we will continue to return and stay there.
Everything was excellent, we can't think of one single thing that could improve the property. The location was great, just near the buses and trains. Other likes were the countryside and friendliness of the people. Strongly recommend this property.
Amazing holiday! That good we have booked to return to the cottage in September!
The cottage has been delightfully renovated. It is warm and cosy and well equipped. In spite of its proximity to the railway and a main road it is very quiet The conservatory is a particularly attractive feature. We found the bed extremely comfortable but for those wanting a softer mattress a topper is available. On arrival Brionny took us on a tour of the cottage and explained the appliances. She was friendly and welcoming. A basket of goodies was a nice touch. Pleasantly furnished this cottage has everything you need for an enjoyable break. It is ideally placed for access by bus or train to Canterbury. The Park and Ride is also nearby and is the cheapest option unless everyone has a bus pass! Within half an hour you can reach most of the attractions in this part of Kent. Sandwich was a favourite of ours. We would certainly return.
One of the cosiest, most welcoming cottages we have stayed in.
We love being independent when we are on holiday, the cottage and location add to the chiilout factor. River walk to Canterbury or drive to Dungeness Point, the options for one week are up to us. The cottage has been set up thoughtfully by the owners and you spot details during your stay.
A very warm welcome and clear explanation regarding where things were and how they worked. Cosy rooms, comfortable bed. Very convenient for buses, trains and as a centre to explore Kent. More than ample equipment and welcoming basket.
The position of the cottage opens up excellent transport, cycling and walking links to Canterbury and much more. The quiet was surprising as road and rail links are nearby. The gated railway crossing which is manually opened and closed by the signal man adds to the village experience. If you have never visited this corner of England you will need to look a long time to do a lot better than this cottage.
Very nice and lovely decorated cottage and nice owner who provided a lovely welcome basket. Well organised information materials. Accessible by train and bus.
What a charming Cottage and a lovely welcome from the owner. It is near to Canterbury and the ideal location to visit the wider Kent area. If you do not want to venture out, this Cottage makes the perfect little hide away to relax in. If going to the area again we would stay here again. The welcome pack was much appreciated as well.
A first class cottage, in a first class location, very well maintained.
Lovely location, thoughtful touches by the owner.
The cottage was well placed to access public transport with both bus and train travel available within 100 yards. There was also a local shop and lovely pub within easy walking distance. You can also walk into Canterbury along the river path. We were greeted by the owners who provided full details of all the amenities and were very helpful.
This cottages is ideal for couples who want a bit of peace and quiet. As it was an old railway cottage, the owners have purchased bits and pieces that tie in with the theme of it. They have fitted it out to a high spec. with plenty of kitchen equipment, it is very clean. They even provided a good selection of DVDs and candles for a romantic feel.
Everything was great. Very friendly welcome by the owner. Cosy, convenient and comfortable with many thoughtful touches. Lovely garden. Really useful to have wifi for us. Stairs are quite steep, so you need to be cautious if you aren't fairly agile, though we're seniors and had no problem.
We could not ask for a more relaxing holiday. Our second visit to this property, and it will not be our last.
The location to us was perfect. The cottage was very cosy and very comfortable.
The warm welcome from the owner was just the start to our excellent holiday. The cottage is warm and cosy. Handy for either walking into Canterbury, or a stone's throw from Chartham train station (only 5 minutes journey into Canterbury). Very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend it.
The warm welcome from the owner started our holiday well. Everything is provided that you'll need. A good mix of mod-cons (dishwasher, wi-fi, "smart tv" which hooks up to the internet so you can use iplayer, itvplayer etc) but the cottage still has oldy-worldy charm (wooden floors etc). So handy for Canterbury, either walk on the river bank or catch the train from the station just over the road. Local corner shop sells everything and is open till at least 9 each evening! Spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault anything with the cottage, would highly recommend it!
Charming property in an excellent location.
The cottage was very charming and homely, yet well equipped and had all modern conveniences.
The owner was on hand when we arrived took us round the cottage explained where and how everything worked which we found helpful. Location was perfect just 3 miles from Canterbury with a very good rail and bus service so no need to use the car if we did not want to. Nothing to dislike about our holiday going back for a second visit very soon.
The cottage was lovely, very comfortable, attractive and restful. The area was beautiful, with easy access by car and public transport to Canterbury, and other villages and the coast.
The welcome from the owner was first class as was the property. The owner was very informative about the area and all it has to offer which all helped towards a very relaxing holiday.
The property was charming and the attention to detail was excellent.
Lovely little cottage. Will visit again for sure.
