Brook Cottage, Milton On Stour

Brook Cottage was originally built as a barn, but has been tastefully converted to offer accommodation for four people; ideal for small families or a small party of friends. The cottage has been built over a brook and has retained much of its original character through the exposed beams that can be found throughout. All the accommodation is laid out over one level an there is a large, enclosed patio area beside the stream; perfect for enjoying a spot of al fresco dining in the long, summer evenings. There is off-road parking for 1 car and the local amenities are a mere 10-minute walk from the front door.

A lovely clean, well equipped, peaceful cottage. Had an enclosed area for dogs and a local field to walk dogs and let them off their lead. The lovely bath was much appreciated after long walks.

A very beautiful and comfortable cottage. This was a last minute break, and the cottage proved to be a bonus. We particularly loved the stream flowing under the cottage with all its wildlife, and we hope to return next year.

The Dorset countryside was wonderful. The small villages were well kept and welcoming. I would highly recommend going to this part of England and staying at Brook Cottage, which was always nice to come back to.

What a delightful cottage Brook Cottage is, a really relaxing and peaceful location. Whilst on a working farm of sorts my wife and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay. With walks on the doorstep and the delights of Dorset too, we were really hapy and satisfied. We asked the owner about the picture of this cottage, it was taken on a rainy day and we felt it let it down. If you stay here you'll relax and enjoy your stay.

A nice part of the country to visit and the cottage helped make everything for our holiday complete. The pictures on the Sykes site didn't do the cottage justice. We're really happy and would recommend the cottage.

This was the first time we had stayed in a cottage in this country and for a first experience this was lovely. The accommodation was very well equipped, clean and comfortable so even though we weren't very lucky with the weather we had a great time. There was good walking nearby and its a lovely area.

Rated by Mrs Balcomb reviewed on 13th August 2009

Very well equipped and furnished. Everything was good quality and very clean. There were flowers when we arrived, which is always a lovely touch.

Far enough away from "city life" to completely relax, but the local life was just a short walk away. The cottage was comfy, warm, and inviting and had everything we needed for our chilled family Christmas. we will be recommending Brook Cottage to friends and may look to return in the summer.

Rated by Mrs Mehrtens reviewed on 30th December 2008

The cottage was lovely, and unusual with a stream running under it. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Rated by Mrs Sayell reviewed on 12th August 2008

The location of the property was ideal. Plenty of allocated space for the dog to excercise on the farm. The property was particularly pleasant, overlooking the brook.

Rated by Mrs Hanley reviewed on 4th August 2008

It was a good central location for travelling around. The cottage was well appointed and the owners very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Rated by Miss Bedford reviewed on 18th June 2008

Beautiful countryside, close to nature and accessibility to various places of interest for all tastes. The cottage over the brook I think must be quite unique. A very interesting setting especially with ducks and their families swimming under your bedroom! During periods of quiet, the sound of the water and the birds - ducks, jackdaws, swallows and many others (bats and owls). In the main a true country idyll with nice people. I would return.
