Reviews

This is a very clean and comfortable cottage in a lovely peaceful location. The decorations were very tasteful and modern; it was a real home from home. The facilities were also more than adequate with a well stocked kitchen and very comfortable living area.

This was a superb cottage in a really lovely location. There was an abundance of bird life singing throughout the day and the evenings and mornings. The nearby small market town had fine facilities.

An absolutely gorgeous property, a home from home. We really didn't want our week to end. After spending days out on the local beaches and surrounding sites of interest we really did appreciate coming back to this property for the comfort value. The property was spotlessly clean, very warm and very comfortable. We will definitely be coming back.

I particularly liked the accommodation, it was home from home which at this time of the year its what you need.

The property is in a superb location just a few miles from the coast. Having access to Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick and Lindisfarne just made the holiday experience even more enjoyable. Belford also has a fun chip shop which rounded off our wonderful holiday. The property itself is perfectly spacious for 6 adults and the log fire was a huge plus. The beds were super comfy as well. The owners visited to check we were settled and are happy for you to get in touch if you have any queries or required anything. We would totally recommend this place for your next family holiday!!

Gardeners Cottage was perfect, all of the rooms were beautiful and so clean we were amazed at the very high standard. The owners have thought of every thing to make the cottage comfy and cosy. The outside space was lovely too, peaceful but not to far from the village. We loved the area and will definitely be back.

In a peaceful location. There were really good quality fixtures and fittings, and comfy sofas and great beds. It felt like a home not a holiday house, highly recommend.

Rated by Mrs Wade reviewed on 5th October 2015

An exceptionally high standard of furnishings and finishes, the bed linen quality particularly was well above average for a holiday cottage. The owners were extremely helpful and very pleasant. Would happily recommend the cottage to anyone.

This was a fantastic retreat for a week of relaxation. It was in the middle of nowhere which was a real bonus, but was near enough to everything you need from a great holiday in Northumberland. The owners really know what a holiday cottage should be - well done!

After several cottage holidays in Northumberland, Gardener's Cottage ticked every box for us. It is a spacious well thought out and presented cottage in a beautiful area. It was very private with a large patio and well maintained lawn area which was ideal to sit and watch the children and dog running around. We will return to this cottage.

This was our second visit to Gardener's Cottage and the experience this year was every bit as enjoyable as on our visit in 2014. The peaceful location, together with the excellent level of comfort, contributed to a wonderfully relaxing holiday.

The cottage is clean, modern and comfortable with plenty of room. The location is peaceful and sitting out on the patio was very relaxing especially as we had fantastic weather all week. The owner visited us soon after arrival to ensure that we had settled in ok and she was very helpful when I arranged to have a wheelchair delivered to the cottage before we arrived. Would highly recommend this cottage and would love to stay here again.

This is a relatively remote location yet is still within a couple of miles of facilities. It is extremely well presented, this was our second visit to Gardener's Cottage and I wouldn't be surprised if we return again next year.

The welcome from the owner was warm and genuine. The property itself was spotless with all fixtures and fittings top quality. This cottage manages to combine modern and luxurious accommodation with a real cosy, homely feel that makes for a really pleasant holiday. The surrounding area is wonderfully quiet with lots of wildlife to sit and watch, even in February.

Gardner's Cottage is the best we have ever rented, either here or abroad. The place was really well equipped and the furnishings were excellent. We loved everything about it. I gave four stars to the sitting area only because we felt that a couple of side tables would have been good - we were afraid of leaving cups of coffee or glasses of wine on the beautiful wooden floor, and the coffee table was quite a distance from some of the seating. A minor thing really, this place is very good. Well done to the owners.

We had a superb week in an outstanding property amongst some of the most beautiful countryside the UK has to offer. We would definitely love a return in the near future.

Everything in the cottage was of a very high standard. The owner arrived to greet us and check all ok a few minutes after we arrived. We were within easy reach of all the places we wanted to go to visit. The best accommodation we have chosen so far, probably going back there.

The owners of this cottage have obviously put a lot of thought & effort into the layout, comfort and amenities for the place. The four of us who stayed here have done many self catering holidays over the years and this cottage was by far the most superior we've stayed in. It was an ideal base for visiting local attractions and we even had a drive to Edinburgh for the day.

Rated by Mrs Trew reviewed on 3rd April 2014

The cottage had everything that you might ever think you need and more. The location was lovely and peaceful, yet a short drive from all the villages along the coastline. The décor was lovely and the cottage was much bigger than we were expecting. Perfect place to explore and have a relaxing break, a real home from home experience!
