A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
We particularly liked the peace and quiet of the area. Though it was a working farm it was not intrusive and added to the enjoyment of the holiday.
Lovely, dog friendly holiday cottage, furnished to a high standard and extremely well equipped. The owners were extremely helpful. The cottage is ideally located with lots of walks direct from cottage but with easy access to Ludlow and Shrewsbury and various local attractions.
It was warm, comfortable and spacious. The location was excellent and easy to get to. There was plenty to do in the area and we had a wonderful week.
Great location, we had upstairs and downstairs apartments which worked well for two couples. Walks from the door so great for dogs. Recommended.
A warm welcome, a beautiful area, good pub food nearby and an excellent Italian restaurant within walking distance for a special occasion. There was a newborn calf on our first morning walk around with the farmer.
A lovely cottage on working farm. It was very good to be able to walk the dog on the farm footpaths then wash her in the ford without having to go out in the car. Excellent on site farm-shop.
Everything about Swallow's Nest was outstanding from the location, to the welcome we received by Mr and Mrs Morgan. Bearing in mind that the cottage was located on a working farm we did expect some minor disturbance, there was and it was minimal. we were able to take our Border collie that was no problem. There are plenty of places to walk straight from the door without driving and the scenery was stunning. We shall definitely recommend it to our friends and we will definitely go again even the weather was dry for the end of October,
Good walks from the door without the need to drive. A comfortable, warm cottage. Friendly, welcoming hosts.
