The small village of Billingsley is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and is just seven miles from Bridgnorth. In addition to lots of walking and cycling facilities, the region boasts a wealth of country parks, great houses, museums and picturesque villages. Visitors can enjoy a trip to the nearby town of Bridgnorth - winner of âBritain in Bloom' - which is composed of the High Town and the Low Town connected by winding streets and flights of steps. The town's Saturday street market provides an excellent chance to explore the impressive castle ruins or to take a ride on the funicular railway. This passes what Charles I called 'the finest view in all my kingdom'. With easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum, Ironbridge Gorge, and the towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow, this is an ideal base for an enjoyable break.

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
The Byre is the best holiday let I have stayed in: clean and comfortable, with a high standard of furniture and decor. The owner was very helpful. The immediate area has a lot lanes and footpaths to explore and the Severn Valley Railway is close by.
This cottage is comfortable in lovely quiet location. Good base for exploring the area. The hosts are helpful and friendly. We would stay here again.
Beautiful holiday cottage, set in the beautiful and serenely quiet Shropshire countryside! The cottage itself was just stunning, couldn't fault it!
A very good property, close to many places of tourist interest and beautiful countryside. Though based on a working farm with other holiday rentals it was still private, quiet and restful.
A fantastic, rural location. A great base with stunning views and great walks! It was a comfy and cosy cottage, and has everything you need. The list goes on!
The Byre was very comfortable in all respects and lacked for nothing. The countryside round about us was wonderful, and we enjoyed our week getting to know a lot more about Shropshire.
Liked how quiet and beautiful the whole place was. Really nice surroundings.
The cottage was in a quiet location
Cosy, well equipped cottage on a working farm. Ideal base for beautiful Shropshire. Helpful host. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Quiet and peaceful location, perfect for anyone looking to escape from the chaos of everyday life. The Byre is a very clean, cosy and delightful cottage. It was the ideal retreat for me, and provided much needed time to myself. Lots of fresh air and good walking opportunities. The owners of the property are very welcoming, kind and hospitable. I am looking forward to another stay next year.
The accommodation was really good. The bedding, towels and furnishings were lovely quality. The location was excellent for getting about and the owners were friendly and extremely helpful.
A very warm, cosy cottage.
Our second visit to this super little cottage. Ideal for the Severn Valley Railway. Very comfortable and well equipped. We were snowed in for two days but we were very warm and cosy thanks to the excellent central heating. We will definitely be back again!
Beautiful remote location on a farm without the usual smells !!! A converted old barn ---with all the amenities. Nice private outside sitting area. Only problem was no Wifi !!! I feel it is very much needed to look up local activities, weather etc so you can plan your days out.
Everything was available that we needed. It was more of a home than temporary accommodation. The location was perfect for accessing the sites we wished to visit.
Fantastic location. We liked the peace, quiet and privacy.
The cottage was a lovely place to stay, very simple and clean living.
A very good quality cottage. Ideal for the Severn Valley Heritage Railway. Will almost certainly use again.
The property is in a quiet location and is tastefully furnished with sunny and bright rooms. The Byre ticked all the important boxes for me - it was very pleasant throughout.
This is a first class rental for two people. Extremely comfortable (wonderful sheets on the bed, duck down pillows) and very classy. Everything was good quality. We've stayed in many rental cottages and all too often you get the owner's 'cast offs' - not here! Clean, tastefully decorated, warm and cosy we found it was a great base to visit the Severn Valley Railway Gala. We can't comment on the walking etc as the SVR was our reason for visiting, but the countryside looked glorious. We will certainly visit again - for the next gala we come to.

I loved the cosiness of the property! It has warmth and character!
The owners were nice and friendly and very helpful if you wanted to know anything about the surrounding areas and where to do sightseeing and places of interest to visit. The only drawback is that there was no shops nearby if you wanted to buy a newspaper or run out of milk or bread. Bridgenorth is the nearest town and it has some nice shops and tearooms.
Quiet and peaceful if you want a rest. Owners are friendly and helpful if you need anything. Plenty of places to visit near by. Nice villages in surrounding areas.
The cottage was just perfect. Warm & cosy. Homely & comfortable. All modern facilities and equipment. The perfect base for visiting Ludlow,Bridgnorth, Ironbridge,Shrewsbury, and many lovely villages. We loved it and will return. Tony & Carol.
This was our first stay with Sykes Cottages but we will use them again. We loved the property - it is a great conversion, very well equipped and comfortable. It is small but was absolutely fine for two people. The location is very quiet and relaxing - you need a car but you are then perfectly located to explore the area - and there is plenty to see - wildlife, historic sites and towns, walks, cycle rides. We thoroughly enjoyed our week.
It was very peaceful and I felt very safe as a single woman alone. Good location for walking but also only 10 mins to Bridgnorth, a very pretty town and 25 mins from Telford with good shopping and cinema etc.
Visiting the many places around Shropshire - the location of The Byre was really good.
The property was comfortable and private. It was compact and easy to manage so it took very little time to keep it tidy and clean.
Cottage in superb location. Ideal for two people, very comfortable and well equipped. We had a peaceful and very relaxing stay. Beautiful area for exploring - immediate location lovely for walks, and loads to visit further afield. Only had a long weekend this time but will definitely book again.
Clean, tidy, well kept property. A holiday well worth booking.
The situation of the cottage was excellent for walking and exploring the county. Cottage very comfortable and homely.
Well laid out property perfect for a couple. Location was excellent with a variety of walks and places of interest nearby.
Lovely cottage for two!
The property and its location was excellent.
The Byre, located on the owner's farm enjoys both privacy and seclusion. We stayed over for New Year during a spell of very cold weather but the accommodation was very cosy and warm. We had taken an electric fan heater as a precaution but we didn't need it. The standard of accommodation is excellent we were made very welcome by the owners. Would definitely recommend and may return one day.
Ironbridge Gorge was 35 mins away. Severn Valley Steam Railway was good.
Lovely little cottage in very peaceful countryside. Lots to do in the area. Will definitely come back!
Pub at the end of the lane serves good food including Vegetarian options.
Privacy and quiet. Excellent conditions set in an area where there are many interesting places to visit within easy reach. This area we had not visited before and we thoroughly recommend it on this occasion.
Excellent, cosy holiday cottage, furnished to a modern, high quality in very quiet location. Good walks from the door. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Really comfortable cottage. Excellent weekend in the most peaceful of settings. High quality cottage with excellent standards.
The holiday was very relaxing. The property was ideal, a brand new barn conversion on a working farm. The owners were welcoming and friendly, and the scenery was wonderful. There were plenty of local walks in the area, and not far from the Severn Valley Steam Railway.
The accommodation was lovely and the owners friendly. It was located in a very peaceful setting but still lots to do nearby. We were very pleased with our holiday and would definitely consider revisiting the same place.
What a lovely surprise to find the accommodation to be exactly as advertised. We found everything to be first class, and will be returning.
Very friendly owners on site, helpful and very welcoming. Lovely quiet spot on a proper working farm.
