Stratford-upon-Avon is famous the world over for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and the historic town is home to the world renowned Royal Shakespeare Company. This beautiful Warwickshire town on the banks of the River Avon is rich in history and culture, and visitors can explore Olde England at Shakespeares birthplace and his familys former 16th century residences with their stunning Tudor grounds and gardens. History buffs will also love the National Trust properties around the area. Stratford offers great shops, pubs, restaurants and bars, and Warwick and Cotswold villages such as Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold are easily accessible for a relaxing day out.
Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area.
The apartment is fitted out to a very high standard was so clean on arrival I felt like I was the first person to have stayed here. However, what makes this apartment so special is if you plan to come and go during the day. The combination of a dedicated parking space and central location makes this place unbeatable. I've stayed in other central Stratford apartments that had on street permit parking but that still left me getting up at 8:00am to move the car in the hope of finding a space (which on a bad day could take 30 min). In 18 years of staying in Stratford the combination of quality of accommodation and convenience of parking makes this by far the best accommodation I have found.
9 Bancroft Place was just perfect in every way. It is close to all amenities, only a few minutes walk to the town centre. The apartment itself was clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped, one of the best apartments we have ever stayed in. We are looking forward to returning there next year.
We stayed here for 1 week in September. The owners could not have been more helpful. The place was spotless, and in a great location. It is only a 2 min walk to the shops. There are 2 pubs within 1 min walk, and lots of pubs / restaurants in the town. The property is right on the Canal and there are some great walks around the area, which is spotless. Stratford is very central for travelling around the area, and the station is a 10 min level walk from the apartment. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, and hope to go back again one day.
The property was extremely central and everything was to a high standard.
An excellent property which was minutes to the town centre. It was probably the best we've stayed in.
9 Bancroft House is in a great location, very comfortable with good modern facilities.
Had a very good holiday. It is in a great position, could not wish for better, everything was perfect.
Everything about this property was superb as was the location. It cannot be faulted.
Beautiful, faultless apartment situated close to the RSC and Stratford upon Avon town centre.
Had a week here and would thoroughly recommend this apartment. Warm and cosy , clean and welcoming with everything you could want, including parking. 3 minute walk into Stratford with it's many restaurants, pubs and shops - no need for the car. Ideal touring base for the Cotswolds too.
I grew up local to this area however I now live in the USA. I frequently travel to the UK with my young family and previously have stayed in National Trust properties. I booked 9 Bancroft Place as the location is perfect as you do not need to use a car and are literally in the centre of Stratford. However whilst being central due to the idyllic backdrop of the canal combined with the road being a dead end it is very peaceful in the apartment. The standard of the property furnishings, décor and content was excellent and in my opinion on a par with National Trust properties I have stayed in. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need and there is a local Sainsbury's supermarket and Marks and Spencer within walking distance for groceries although milk and coffee etc. were there upon arrival. You can walk to all attractions, restaurants and pubs in Stratford and with the benefit of having an allocated off road parking spot it is easy to head further afield into the Cotswolds. The whole experience was straightforward and I would strongly recommend this property. I will definitely look to stay here again in the future. Many thanks for a memorable and enjoyable holiday !
First class accommodation and I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anybody as it was perfect in every aspect for an enjoyable holiday.
Stayed here in April with husband, eight year old son and elderly mother. It was very central and clean and well decorated. The beds were comfortable and the shower worked well. RIght on the canal so although there's no real garden you can open the patio doors and sit out watching the barges. There's a patio table and four chairs and you can see the theatre tower which is only a three minute walk away. All downstairs - no stairs or mobility issues. Two hairdryers are provided, an iron and ironing board, high chair etc. You can park your car at the flat off road for free during the stay and probably won't have to move it for the duration as you are right in the centre of town. We loved it and would recommend it. Vikki the owner left us milk in the fridge and there were tea bags, coffee and sugar. Tonnes of DVDs and board games. Free wifi. A lovely wee place to stay in a fantastic town! Friday change over. If you do go, visit the theatre!
This is a property in a great location, convenient to town centre (short walk).Great décor, very comfy beds.Kitchen well equipt,Will certainly be back.
9 Bancroft Place is a comfortable apartment, I don't think we could find better anywhere else.
A first class property, would have no problem recommending it to anybody.Very convenient to town centre,Pub within 100 yards,
The closeness of the canal was very nice with the barges passing by. Being just minutes away from the town was lovely. We could not fault it in any way, we are two very satisfied holiday makers.
My husband and I spent a week here and really enjoyed watching the narrowboats and wildlife as the apartment is right on the canal bank. The other big bonus to this property is that there is a very good parking space and you are so central to Stratford that you don't need to take your car out if you don't want to. The apartment is lovely and comfortable and looks like it has had a completely new kitchen and bathroom. There also appears to be new carpeting throughout. The bedrooms also appear to have had new furniture and so everything was very clean and fresh. The bathroom had good water pressure for the shower and there was the choice of the overhead rainshower or the shower spray which was great. The kitchen had all the crockery, cutlery and glasses you needed for four and had a very good selection of pans and knives together with a matching kettle and coffee maker. It all looked lovely and smart. The living room doesn't have much natural light due to the mature shrubs on the canal bank, however, the lighting in the living room was excellent and you didn't notice at all with the lights on. I found the recycling/rubbish disposal instructions a bit confusing but I sent a text to the owner who was so kind and helpful and got back to me straight away. I didn't neet to make any other contact with the owner during my stay as everything else was straightforward. The outside canalside patio is wonderful and we sat out quite a few nights as we brought our BBQ with us. There is a lovely table and chairs and we moved these to where we wanted them on the patio and moved them back later on when we had finished. The neighbours were all pleasant and quiet and the property was very easy to find in the centre of Straford. The location isn't the quietest but that is only to be expected in the centre of a busy town. This did not disturb our sleep though and did not spoil our use of the fabulous outside space either. We found the property extremely convenient for everything in Stratford and enjoyed some lovely walks due to its proximity to the canal, canal basin and river. I feel that, if you are looking for a property to access all the attractions of Stratford-upon-Avon, you will not find better than this.
The apartment is very close to the theatre and shops but quietly situated next to the canal. It was delightful watching the canal boats coming and going. Being regular visitors to Stratford we've stayed in a good number of other places. This is, by far, the most convenient and we would certainly choose to stay here again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our week! The flat is beautiful, very well appointed, everything you could want is provided to the highest standard, and considering it's just a few minutes walk from the Canal Basin, it was very quiet. Close to all the amenities, we will definitely be going again! Good base for exploring all the area has to offer!
An excellent location ideal for all amenities. Nice to sit on the patio and watch narrow boats go by.
Beautiful apartment in close proximity to Stratford centre, everything was easy to get to, yet it was on a quiet little road. The flat itself was really well fitted out, everything done to an excellent, tasteful standard. It was a pleasure to be there, and we will certainly go again!
Very, very pleasant location next to Avon canal. Central to Stratford town centre, with all the restaurants, pubs, shops, galleries, RSC Theatre. Very comfortable living area. A super modern flat, easy and uncluttered to live in. Everything was provided including a welcome refreshment. Owner happy to be in contact, very welcoming positive and supportive.
