An absolutely lovely stay here in such a beautiful part of the world...pat and ron are great. Two bedrooms bathroom kitchen living room off road parking...everything you need!
Comfortable accommodation, ideally situated for exploring the area.
A lovely bungalow, warm cosy and it was spotless. Could not ask for anything more. The owners must be so proud of having such an excellent property.
Fantastic location with lovely garden, a home from home with everything we needed. The owners were very friendly and informative about the area.
Owners very friendly and helpful. Great starting place for touring The Dales. Tourist info free guided walk round Richmond and Dales trail leaflets were both excellent.
As we had previously stayed at Thornlea before, we knew exactly what to expect of the cottage, and we were over the moon to be able to book it at quite short notice when most of the year is fully booked. The owners live next door but never make you feel as if Big Brother is watching you. A very enjoyable and stress-free break; we will definitely return!
Excellent all round thanks to great owners. Thanks very much!
Great bungalow in a fantastic location. Owners very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended.
One of the easiest holiday cottages I have booked. From first booking with yourselves, the experience was a pleasure. The owners were very friendly, living next door, nothing too much trouble for them, they were there if you needed them but not intrusive at all. A welcome pack was in the cottage to start the holiday which included a bottle of wine. It was a very enjoyable holiday, and a cottage I would use again.
From the welcoming bottle of wine one the table when we arrived, we knew that we were going to enjoy this break, and were not disappointed! It was a beautiful bungalow, with lovely views out over rolling fields and hills, so tranquil. We have visited Richmond many times before, but never stopped in a holiday home there and were 'over the moon' with the cottage for location and a comprehensive list of fixtures/fitttings. The owners were ever so friendly(next door) but without that 'big brother is watching you' attitude! Truly a lovely holiday home which we will return to, if we may, Thank you on behalf of my wife and I.
A comfortable and warm cottage. Appreciated this for Autumn break. Short drive into Richmond.
Friendly owners and a comfortable cottage made our break a thoroughly enjoyable one. We will return with pleasure to this lovely location!
Thornlea is in a very convenient location for touring and close to Richmond and all the facilities. We received a good welcome from the owners. There are some lovely pubs and restaurants within close proximity, and a number of country walks close at hand. Very cosy and relaxing.
Very cosy cottage, well equipped., comfortable and within walking distance of the town. Ideally situated for exploring the surrounding area.
Very comfortable accommodation. Good location and welcome pack from the owners. This was very much appreciated. We had a great week even though the weather not brilliant but no problem.
I required a small cottage for a weekend stay, and this was in a good location on the outskirts of Richmond and good value. Service was excellent with milk in the fridge and mince pies on the table when we arrived!
Our first visit to Richmond, a lovely town in a beautiful setting and a good hub for exploring in all directions. People very friendly. A good selection of places to eat.
Very peaceful, relaxing, in a lovely environment, with a nice view and the owners next door, were very welcoming and helpful.
A good time was had by all four of us .the cottage was very well laid out, as my mother in law has limited movement, but we found this to be just the idel place, as they are no steps to tackle The welcome tray that was left for us was so nice, oweners were next door and are very very nice will love to go back to this cottage at some time in the future
Good value for money. Bit lacking on culinary utensils. Bedrooms on small side. Pleasant walking and walking distance to Richmond etc.
Comfortable cottage with lovely views. Owners very helpful. Supplied some welcome essentials and recommended local walks.
This cottage is ideally situated on the very edge of Richmond and perfect to use as a base from which to have days out around North Yorkshire. The owners are very friendly & welcoming and the cottage is of an excellent standard. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks break and would not hesitate to return on another break.
The owners were very hospitable. Milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine were left for us. Lots of places to see and visit. The owners thought of everything. Had information leaflets of places to go and places to eat- very impressive!
Good location. Well thought out and appointed property.
The location, and the warmth and 'cosiness' of the cottage was top class. The owners living next door were there if we needed any thing and the welcome tray when we arrived after a long journey was very welcome. We look forward to returning to this property when we visit this area again.
Extremely helpful owner. Good welcome tray. We would go again.
'The Station' in Richmond well worth a visit - good cafe, bakery, brewery, cheese making etc.
The owners were extremely kind and nothing seemed too much trouble.
Very nice rural view. Also, it is ideally placed for visiting many places of interest and natural beauty.
Richmond was an interesting town with plenty to do and see around. Lovely little villages all round about. Plenty of leaflets with ideas in the cottage along with games to keep children amused at nights.
Great family garden with excellent views.
It felt like a home not just a house. The owners were very pleasant and welcoming.
Very private and attractive garden. Lots to see and do within 20 mile radius. Very suitable for disabled visitors.
The friendly personal service from the owners who lived adjacent to the bungalow (a welcome note, bottle of Cava for our wedding celebrations, milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, sugar, filter papers, washing up liquid, paper towels, washing powder, bin bags and a personal visit to make sure we arrived ok). We felt the bungalow offered general warmth & comfort on arrival.
As on our last visit, we liked the cosy cottage and its excellent position. The owners were most helpful & friendly.
Very accessible and easy to find. A great base for touring the North of England.
Property was centrally located. Plenty of places to visit within easy access. The garden was private with a lovely outlook.
A very compfortable cottage, we were made very welcome.
Excellent property in convenient location. Will book again.
We received a lovely warm welcome. As always we appreciated being able to make a cup of tea on arrival, thanks to owners leaving tea/coffee/milk etc. for guests. Its rare to find owners who go the extra mile to ensure the comfort of their guests.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Thornlea. The cottage was well equipped, warm, clean and generally excellent! The owners were the perfect hosts and we would definitely stay at again and recommend this property.
A warm friendly welcome from the owners together with flowers on the table, milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine and black sheep beer on the table! (as well as the more usual tea, coffee and sugar). Fantastic view from the sitting room across the vale, and a suntrap to sit in when one wished, in a colourful garden. Unobtrusive help available when required.
The Bungalow was the right size, well furnished & well equipped with a good garden and spectacular views over the valley.
The cottage was extremely comfortable, owners were friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated finding tea, coffee and milk on arrival. The fresh flowers were an nice touch. Beds were clean and comfortable, and lounge spacious. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed and I would certainly recommend it.
Good, convenient base for a walking/touring holiday. Short distance to town centre for shopping etc, but in a quiet location on the edge of residential a area. Overall situation excellent.
The garden was very pretty and totally enclosed so safe for children.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was so nice to just be able to relax and enjoy the garden and the views beyond.
Level walk to the shop and countryside walks from the door. Garden attracts lots of birds.
Richmond was a lovely town - and a great centre for exploring the rest of North Yorkshire
Great location. Wonderful Weather !!!
The cottage was well placed for touring the area and was very well equipped. Richmond town centre was a reasonable walking distance away. The footpath next to the cottage provided a pleasant walk to Easby Abbey. The traffic from the main road was never intrusive. The garden was very pleasant for sitting in and at night was visited by bats.
The bungalow was very well equipped and everything worked! The owners live just next door and we were told if we needed anything just to knock on their door and ask.We had a lovely weekend break although we would have liked to stay longer,in fact I could have lived in that little bungalow.
