Great place to stay, owners very nice and friendly, and if you like Bill will have the fire ready for you on your return.. Just tell him what time you will be back and you enter a really toasty cottage.. wonderful, Highly recommended. Safe, secure and so so peaceful, and even the deer pop in the morning on the lawn for breakfast.. Thanks We will be back..T
Our expectations, based on various reviews, were high, but were easily surpassed by this cottage. The quality of furnishings and fittings is high and the amenities comprehensive. It is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The owners are delightful, very helpful and unlike some holiday lettings, provided all the day to day requirements. The cottage is extremely private, facing a beautiful orchard to the front, open fields to the rear and surrounded by well manicured hedges. It is ideally situated for New Forest exploration but not too far from shops and pubs.We spent a week at The Bothy when the weather prevented us from spending as much time outside as we had planned. The cottage proved to be a haven from the inclement summer. If there were to be a criticism it is that the photographs do not do justice to this superb property.
This was our third visit to this property, it's ideal for us.
The owners were very helpful when we arrived. The accommodation was first class, very clean and well maintained. All in all it was a very enjoyable holiday and I would heartily recommend it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. It is in lovely surroundings overlooking fields - it was so private. We will go back again.
Very helpful, pleasant and friendly owners and the cottage was ideally placed for access to the New Forest area.
The owners warmly welcomed us and on entering The Bothy we both said 'Wow!' The house is set in a well kept garden with mature fruit trees and a sheltered patio area. The garden itself overlooks open fields which was lovely. We particularly liked the accommodation; its comfortable furnishings and equipment were just right for the two of us. The owners kindly tended the log burner and gave some good hints and instructions for its use. There was an ample supply of information leaflets on places to eat and of interest in the surrounding countryside. We had a most enjoyable stay at The Bothy and would certainly recommend it to our friends.
The whole holiday was fantastic. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the log burning fire in the living room. Couldn't have asked for more.
We were very impressed with the cottage, it suited our needs perfectly and the owners were very friendly and helpful. It was a surprisingly spacious property and the wood burner was a wonderful source of warmth on a December night! The location was ideal for exploring the New Forest and was very easy to find. We would certainly recommend it and hopefully will come back to stay there in the future.
The cottage was situated in a quiet peaceful location but within excellent distance to all the amenities and towns. The cottage was very clean and spacious for a one bedroom and very cosy. The cottage has everything you could hope for. We would definitely stay there again in the future.
A very nice cottage in lovely surroundings with very friendly and helpful hosts.
The Bothy was a home from home. It was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and had a very well equipped kitchen. In a very nice quiet, secluded location but the owners were on hand should you need them. We had a truly enjoyable holiday and would commend the owner on the way she had just made a few touches to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.
The Bothy was lovely, in a beautiful spot and we were very well looked after. Would definitely go back again and recommend to others!
Liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner as well as the lovely cosy wood burner and firewood freely provided. The situation of the cottage was also very good.
It was larger than what we expected from the pictures and we found it neat and clean. The owners were friendly and very helpful but unobtrusive. Perfect for our romantic week in the new forest.
We have stayed in many self catering holiday lets for a considerable number of years. The Bothy was all we could have wished for. The cottage was very clean and tidy and well furnished. All the equipment worked well. The Bothy is situated off the main road and well secluded surrounded by an orchard and a paddock. Many places were easy to visit. Mudeford Quay is a very interesting and lovely place. A trip to Hythe on the river especially at tea-time usually means you can see the large holiday cruisers depart from Southampton and the ferry trip is interesting and you can view many of the boats in the harbour. Lyndhurst is a very busy small town and the Forest Drive is a really lovely experience. A car ferry from Lymington takes you to the Isle of Wight and Osborne House (Queen Victoria's residence.) The owners were absolutely charming and very helpful and we found them very friendly. The holiday was a delight and we loved staying in The Bothy. We thoroughly recommend it.
A beautiful cottage and very welcoming owners. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend to others.
Highly commendable. This property is top range, set at a realistic price and well designed for a couple to stay in for a quiet relaxing week. Plenty of places to visit locally, although some might be tempted to just stay home and enjoy their holiday break in The Bothy.
Had a superb stay.
We have been self catering for the past 35 years or more. The standard in accommodation during that time has risen to a very high standard. We were certainly not disappointed with The Bothy. The cottage furnishings were so pretty, the kitchen really easy to work in and all the equipment worked. The outlook over the garden from the lounge was a delight. The owners were kind, helpful and unobtrusive. A big thank you to them for a really happy time. We will certainly recommend this cottage.
The Bothy is an outstanding cottage, very well equipped, in lovely surroundings and the owner has put a lot of thought into what is needed. The owner is very nice and helpful in everyday, definitely a cottage to return to.
The cottage was very secluded and very well appointed. The owners were very pleasant and made us feel welcome. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week and would have no hesitation in recommending The Bothy to others. The addition of a New Forest car park pass was a bonus which came in very useful.
A lovely little let. With fields on two sides, and secluded garden on the other two. A very pretty place with a lovely outlook. There was even a friendly horse that could almost be stroked from the kitchen and bathroom windows. The bothy is light, spacious, and comfortable. It is very close to the lovely town of Lymington and also the new forest. On the down side, there was supposed to be a starter pack of fuel for the fire, but we were told that wasn't lit at the time of year we were there. The use of the woodburner is quite a draw, and having woodburners ourselves, we took extra fuel of our own, which we then had to take back. It's quite wrong to make a big thing about a feature then say someone cannot use it. The shower needed a whole bottle of bleach to remove the mold and make it safe to use. And the mugs and general kitchen cutlery etc. could have been cleaner..
Lovely comfortable cottage. Situated in grounds of owner's home, close to all facilities but standing alone with outlook over fields. Well equipped and very comfortable.
A very nice cottage in a peaceful setting. This cottage is a great place to stay and is in a very good location for the New Forest and the Dorest/Hampshire coast.
Our holiday cottage, The Bothy, was a delight to stay in. Like home from home. And the views over the grounds are lovely. It is very peaceful there with lots of beautiful bird song. The cottage is a credit to the owners who are friendly and helpful but not interfering. The New Forest is just a wonderful place to visit and there is a lot to see.
The friendliness of the owners and the overall atmosphere of the cottage.
The cottage itself was lovely - very peaceful and private - and the owners were very friendly. Everything we needed was provided, and the free parking pass was a very welcome surprise.
