Reviews

Spotlessly clean, well furnished, home from home, with the bonus of a log burning stove. Very close to the town, beaches & Hornsea Mere. Everything within walking distance, parking right outside the house. Secure back garden, ideal for dogs. Just spent 4 nights there with my dog Maisie, would not hesitate to return. The neighbours were lovely, very knowledgable about the area.

Fisher Cottage is very convenient for Hornsea town, the Mere (lovely food at the cafe) and Tesco, which is just up the road. The cottage has been tastefully renovated and decorated by Anna and Paul. They are a delightful couple and genuinely welcoming. Anna makes a yummy lemon cake! All the rooms are comfortable, and there is a definite feel of luxury about the place. Thick carpets in the bedrooms and marble work tops in the kitchen add to this feeling. The garden is beautiful, and there is a splendid view of Hornsea Mere, and when we stayed at Fisher Cottage the sunsets were as good as we've seen in Paphos. We will most certainly be returning.

Lovely cottage with great facilities. The owners were very friendly and explained everything to us yet were not intrusive. Hornsea is great little place and a good base for seeing the area.

The property has been done up to a very high standard and the owners have been very helpful and very friendly. The bed is the best that we have slept in and to a higher standard than what you get in many hotels. They have provided top quality fixtures and fittings to make our holiday very relaxing and enjoyable.

My husband and I absolutely loved this cottage. We took our dog with us for a week and were swayed by the fact that the sea shore was only a short walk away. The cottage itself had all the creature comforts you could wish for with high quality fixtures and fittings in every room. The garden is beautifully laid out with table, chairs and a barbecue! There was also ample parking space at the front of the property. Fisher Cottage is lovely and cosy and is ideally placed for visiting nearby seaside towns. We would love to repeat the experience!

When walking in to property, it was an excellent first impression. It had a well kept garden with a patio and everything in the cottage was a delight. A walk around the mere which is at the back of the property is well worth the effort. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

A lovely cottage and garden with a great view of the Mere. It was done to a high spec throughout. An easy walk to the beach, with a dog friendly section of beach all year round, and town. A great base to explore the coast.

A lovely luxury cottage which was well appointed and with a lot of thought to the comfort of users. It was very warm and comfortable, nicely situated 5mins from Hornsea town and 5mins from a dog walk on the old railway line to the beach. Everything was of a high quality and everything worked, simply and efficiently. Thank you for a great holiday, see you next year.

Rated by Mr Sullivan reviewed on 10th March 2015

Having a break in early January meant we spent a lot of time in the cottage. We were so impressed with the high quality of all the fixtures and fittings. It was noticeable that the owners had gone "that extra mile" when fitting the cottage out. From cutlery to shower curtain to cooker they had bought good quality goods that were tasteful as well as being functional. Probably the best turned out cottage we have used in 15 years.

Nice cottage, nice neighbours and excellent local amenities. We just wanted a quiet few days to unwind after Christmas and Fisher Cottage was just right for us.

Rated by Mrs Walley reviewed on 4th January 2015

The location was spot on for what we wanted. The cottage was finished to a high standard with some extra thought given to detailing such as the I-Pod docking and the speakers in the ceiling, also the underfloor heating was really nice in the bathroom especially in the mornings. The walks to the beach was very good and overall we really enjoyed Hornsea and Fisher cottage and would go again.

This is a fantastic cottage and a credit to the owners. The neighbours are extremely friendly and very helpful. The garden is fantastic and it's totally enclosed which is great if you have dogs and/or small children. It is a fantastic base for exploring the South East of Yorkshire and the Moors are within reach. We would definitely recommend this cottage to our friends and family.

We loved our stay in Fisher Cottage. It felt like our home from home, from the moment that we arrived. The cottage was the perfect place for a relaxing stay in Yorkshire. A touch of luxury to come home to after a day walking along the coast or shopping in York. The bed was the most comfortable that we have ever stayed in. We will be back soon.

The cottage was extremely comfortable and very well appointed to a high standard. Everything included that we needed. Nice view from the rear patio overlooking The Mere. Well within walking distance to the village pubs, restaurants, shops. The owners and neighbours very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend this property.

Rated by Mrs Macaskill reviewed on 13th July 2014

The property provided a very comfortable base from which to explore the many interesting places in the area. The Mere provided us with a pleasant introduction to Hornsea in the form of many different wildfowl and a pleasant tea room. It was nice to have a view of this expanse of water from Fisher Cottage.

Rated by Mr Bateman reviewed on 14th June 2014

Beautiful house, gorgeous views over the Mere from the garden, convenient for local facilities such as supermarket but also easy to get to beach. Friendly neighbours, fantastic attention to detail in house, especially the TV, which we were able to connect up to our kindles to watch films in the evenings. House felt like home immediately.

Rated by Mrs Jones reviewed on 27th April 2014

Everything was just perfect. So many times you have to compromise on the property when it's so close to the sea but not at Fisher Cottage. Everything is done to such a high standard, from the very comfy bed in the master bedroom to the decent sized wine glasses in the cupboards. Nothing has been over looked and we are already planning our next visit.

Rated by Outhwaite reviewed on 29th March 2014
