From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
The location is superb, facilities great, very cosy.
The cottage was very comfortable and warm. The view was amazing in a beautiful village. It was only 5 minutes walk to the pub.
This cottage is a little gem, just a few mins walk to the village where there is a very nice pub at the end of the bridge which allows our doggy friends in the bar area. There are some wonderful walks in the area which are all covered by the literature in the cottage. The views are amazing and the cottage is really well equipped and beautifully clean. We had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed some lovely walks

What a lovely find, the cottage was lovely and very well equipped. It is wonderfully located; just up the road from the village and perfectly placed for some wonderful walks. The owner made us feel very welcome. We were extremely impressed with the cottage and enjoyed a fabulous holiday.
Great location, lovely cottage. We got in late on a Friday evening so the tea and biscuits were very welcoming! We needed accommodation for a wedding in nearby villages. My son is 3 so the extra home comforts were the real real for going for a cottage. This was a great find! Cosy, but with more than enough room for a small family. As it was lambing season too we had the added magic of seeing the newborn lambs. This a great place for active breaks or a completely relaxing holiday.

It is a very pleasant cottage in a nice countryside.Quiet and peaceful, clean and comfortable. I really liked the wood burner in the lounge and there was plenty of coal and wood to use.The local pub is in walking distance (take a torch with you :) and the food is all right. We haven`t really walked around the village but hiking and walking areas are within driving distance. The best thing about the place was that I instantly felt welcomed and comfortable, the cottage has got a really positive vibe. However the least I liked about the place that within the house there are 5 carved mice hidden and we only found 4!!!We looked everywhere but just could not find the last one.We will have to go back soon to find the the fifth mouse :)

This was one of the very best cottages we have rented, and we've rented a lot. The quality of everything was first class, the welcome from the owner, including biscuits, milk and tea was very welcome. The position of this cottage is perfect, the view spectacular, and the short walk to the village great. Would go back like a shot and recommend it to everyone.
The cottage was very comfortable and a cosy little place. The owner was friendly and chatty.
The location is excellent. Great views and walks from the cottage. Lovely pub short walk away. Cosy comfortable, wonderful open fire. Friendly owners.
The cosiness of the cottage, roaring log fires on chilly evenings and the beautiful scenery.
Excellent location, wonderful weekend. We will come again!
This charming, little cottage was a delight to stay in. The views are amazing, even in the rain, the perfect spot in the Dales. Will definitely be back.

Excellent location, ideal for walks with the dogs and handy for meals and drinks at the local pubs. Cosy and warm cottage, friendly owner.
The location was breathtaking and very conveniently located for endless walks in the Yorkshire Dales.
The warmth of the cottage and the comfort. Open views were a bonus.
Warm reception from the owner once again. Nothing is too much trouble to make your stay comfortable. Have already booked for next year. The wood burner on an evening creates a warm cosy atmosphere.
Loved the cottage and garden, the view was gorgeous. Excellent walks that were very accessable. Pubs at appletreewick were a great reward after a walk along the river (New Inn especially friendly to humans and dogs). A great relaxing holiday with all amenities to hand

Location excellent. Warm cosy cottage. Excellent shower. Lovely log fire. Garden good for bird watching, also dog friendly. Red Lion at Burnsall and New Inn, Appletreewick are good for food.

Lovely cottage in a great setting. Very peaceful but close to all the attractions. Host very helpful.
On arrival we were met with a 'welcome tray' of tea and cookies, which was much appreciated after our long journey. The cottage was cosy, extremely clean and well-equipped. An idyllic holiday retreat in a beautiful part of the country.
A very cosy cottage ideally placed to visit the various attractions but also close to the quintessential English village to stroll into and enjoy!
This cottage is perfectly located - fantastic views from the windows, peaceful and quiet. The cottage itself is full of character and very comfortable and the garden attracts huge numbers of small birds which are a pleasure to watch. We would definitely go there again if we were staying in Yorkshire.
Peaceful, relaxing cottage, so cosy and comfortable. The cottage has a lovely welcoming ambiance. It was a real home from home. Made to feel very welcome by the owner. Lovely views from the cottage and also walks from the doorstep. Central to get to anywhere you wanted to.

We'd rather keep this place to ourselves it's so great. Best cottage we've ever been in - and we've been in a lot.

Ideal location for walking. Wonderful views from the very cosy cottage. Well maintained and a warm welcome received. A perfect two weeks.
Great position with fantastic views and close to interesting points of interest. We actually had super weather contrary to the forecast which just shows how changeable the Dales weather can be. . . .
The friendliness and welcome from the family. The whole holiday was a pleasure with such a lovely cottage.
The location is perfect for walking and accessing popular tourist spots such as Bolton Abbey, Grassington etc. The accommodation is extremely comfortable, quiet and with beautiful views. Excellent pub food is located in Burnsall and nearby Appletreewick.
At a cold time, a really warm cottage. Very welcoming owner and a lovely walk to the village where there is a great shop.
Very warm and comfortable. Enclosed back garden and good car parking. Fabulous birds in garden. Wonderful views.
On arrival at the cottage we knew straight away we were in for a brilliant week. The cottage itself was cosy and beautifully decorated. The finishing touches made it so homely. The owner was welcoming and friendly. The location was perfect with lots of walks only a few miles away, however there was some great walks from the door. What we liked about the cottage was it was within walking distance to the village but far enough away to be peaceful. There was nothing we did not like, only that we had to leave.

I loved staying in a cottage with character.
The personal welcome by the owner. The cottage is in a lovely location and close enough to tourist attractions and shops; really nice fireplace that creates a warm atmosphere.
A beautiful character cottage set in delightful, picturesque area. Warm, cosy and comfortable. A dream retreat from the hurly burly of modern life. Can't wait to get back there.
The cottage was wonderfully situated and had beautiful views. We enjoyed the local walks and scenery, and loved the log fire in the evenings.
There was a beautiful view from the cottage and I liked the relative peace and quiet of the countryside. The garden was well maintained and had a picnic bench and kettle BBQ.
I loved everything!
We were very lucky to have nice weather but even without such luck, the cottage was very inviting and welcoming. The garden was small but easily enough space to sit out in and enjoy the 'British weather'. Already recommended to a friend.
Cosy and comfortable cottage in an excellent location with tranquil views.
The owners are extremely friendly. Lovely people and beautiful countryside. We had a great holiday!
Location and size of property. Friendliness of the owner.
There are dog friendly pubs in the village and Appletreewick. Brilliant walks straight from the cottage.
A perfect base to enjoy the wonderful area. Sandywood was a real retreat. A perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle to just relax!
This is a super location for those who seek good walking and all that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. Very cosy even in winter weather.
Sandywood cottage is lovely, I have been twice now and will be going again. Owner is very welcoming, considerate and helpful.
The situation of this cosy, well equipped and generally charming property enabled us to take full advantage of the fantastic walking opportunities available on the doorstep, in what is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas of the country. A truly revitalising break.

The garden is so typical of a country cottage. Walks from the doorstep and a lovely local pub. Stunning views make this a wonderful place to holiday.
