A traditional detached cottage in an idyllic hillside position on the outskirts of the delightful village of Burnsall, with uninterrupted views of Burnsall Fell. Originally a farm worker's cottage, the property has been fully renovated to provide warm, cosy accommodation with immense character and charm, retaining many original features such as the stone fireplace, oak beams and mullion windows. The lovely enclosed garden provides an excellent spot for alfresco dining, whilst just a short walk away is an award-winning pub, serving real ales and fabulous food. Enjoy good walking and cycling from the doorstep, or explore Bolton Abbey and the infamous Strid, a notorious stretch of deep water where the River Wharfe is forced into a deep, thundering channel. The elegant market town of Grassington, with its cobbled square littered with local shops, pubs and cafes is just 5 miles away, making this an ideal location, to be enjoyed whatever the time of year.

Situated in Wharfedale, the village of Burnsall is set on a bend in the River Wharfe and is perfectly framed by the dramatic backdrop of Burnsall Fell. Full of traditional constructions, the 12th Century church is thought to be the oldest building in the village whilst the school is one of the oldest in the country. Burnsall's most famous feature, however, is probably the stone bridge supported by five arches. With a small shop selling sweets and ice-cream as well as a pub and hotel and a tea-room, the village provides most amenities that visitors will need. Nearby Grassington and Skipton offer a wider selection of shops for anything extra visitors may need. The area is the setting for numerous popular cycling trails and bridleways, making this an excellent holiday destination for walkers and those looking to explore this beautiful region.

This cottage is a little gem, just a few mins walk to the village where there is a very nice pub at the end of the bridge which allows our doggy friends in the bar area. There are some wonderful walks in the area which are all covered by the literature in the cottage. The views are amazing and the cottage is really well equipped and beautifully clean. We had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed some lovely walks

What a lovely find, the cottage was lovely and very well equipped. It is wonderfully located; just up the road from the village and perfectly placed for some wonderful walks. The owner made us feel very welcome. We were extremely impressed with the cottage and enjoyed a fabulous holiday.

Great location, lovely cottage. We got in late on a Friday evening so the tea and biscuits were very welcoming! We needed accommodation for a wedding in nearby villages. My son is 3 so the extra home comforts were the real real for going for a cottage. This was a great find! Cosy, but with more than enough room for a small family. As it was lambing season too we had the added magic of seeing the newborn lambs. This a great place for active breaks or a completely relaxing holiday.

It is a very pleasant cottage in a nice countryside.Quiet and peaceful, clean and comfortable. I really liked the wood burner in the lounge and there was plenty of coal and wood to use.The local pub is in walking distance (take a torch with you :) and the food is all right. We haven`t really walked around the village but hiking and walking areas are within driving distance. The best thing about the place was that I instantly felt welcomed and comfortable, the cottage has got a really positive vibe. However the least I liked about the place that within the house there are 5 carved mice hidden and we only found 4!!!We looked everywhere but just could not find the last one.We will have to go back soon to find the the fifth mouse :)

This was one of the very best cottages we have rented, and we've rented a lot. The quality of everything was first class, the welcome from the owner, including biscuits, milk and tea was very welcome. The position of this cottage is perfect, the view spectacular, and the short walk to the village great. Would go back like a shot and recommend it to everyone.
