Rosmuc is set in the heart of Connemara in a picturesque location between the mountains and the sea. The town of Clifden is a short drive away, and is home to a fantastic range of pubs, shops and restaurants, and plays host to a variety of colourful festivals throughout the year. Just 15 minutes' drive from Rosmuc is Rossaveal Harbour, where you can catch a day ferry to the Aran Islands where you can step back in time and see some of the finest examples of Stone built forts in Europe. Connemara National Park is close by for a great day out, as is the world famous Kylemore Abbey with its breathtaking views and beautiful setting. With guided walking tours, world class golf, horse riding, angling, historic houses and boat trips to enjoy, there is something to please even the most discerning of visitors!
Towering cliffs stand next to vast stretches of golden sand, whilst vast mountain ranges cradle cool, low-lying lakes. The Galway region epitomises the term ‘great outdoors'; with fantastic walking and cycling and exhilarating water sports.
This is an excellent cottage in a great location! It is really old but very well kept and internally a modernized cottage. The owners are super friendly and helpful. We couldn't have asked for more and would love to return!
My family and I really loved staying at this beautifully renovated cottage. It was modern yet homely and very spacious. We thought the location was perfect as a base for travelling and we enjoyed the wonderful views out of the cottage into the mountains and lake beyond. The owner was so kind and gave us lots of information and did everything possible to help us to enjoy our stay and get the most out of our time in Ireland. She went above and beyond what we expected and we will definitely stay at Tigh Mhicïl cottage again. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the rural setting.
A good situation to discover Connemara. Very peaceful.
The warm and friendly welcome from the owners; the cosiness of the cottage and its location. We went to the lovely town of Westport and back on the magnificent drive from Louisburgh to Leenaun. Galway, one of my favourite cities, is less than an hour away and from there we visited the Burren but the best day by far was the day we spent on the Aran Islands. We highly recommend this cottage and hope to spend more time there.
Very good cottage.
