Reviews

Stayed at this property in May after a long wait due to coronavirus restrictions. Upon arrival the place is extremely tricky to find unless you know your way around. Rang the owners to be greeted with sarcasm and unfriendly tone - after an already stressful journey this was disheartening. Upon arrival the other owner showed us to the property. In the description the hot tub is described to believe to be your own however this was shared which we thought was absolutely preposterous seeing as we are in the middle of a global pandemic. You have to book a time slot to use it - yes we know hot tubs are self cleaning however this did not make us feel comfortable as you had to trust the previous user to wipe it down. Once inside the property itself it had all of the utensils you need for a self catering stay. Upon first look it looked clean. Areas of the property could do with decoration. However wherever we looked there was dust everywhere. Dust was found in the carpet, in the tiles, under the sofa, the sofas did not look clean enough to relax on - we used our own towels to cover them to sit on. Tables were marked by scratches left by I assume animals that had been in the property. The garden is not dog friendly especially for dogs that struggle to toilet on gravel and concrete - if you have a dog that struggles with this be prepared to have them on a lead and walk them to the paddock. Upstairs the bedroom looks impressive, again on first look. However, when looking and living in this there is more dust where it has not been cleaned thoroughly. The bathroom has no roof so be prepared to hear whoever you are staying with do their business with no privacy! No cleaning products were left in the bathroom to clean it which is just appalling. During the day owners would go out and leave their dogs for hours barking - not great in the first instance but especially not great as the property is attached to their house! Again, something that is not made clear in this description. Be prepared to drive everywhere because there is nothing to do around the area - you are literally in the middle of nowhere. The beaches are lovely and there is lots to do with your dogs if you are prepared to drive! As far as the facilities for pets goes it is very dog friendly. With the bath taps outside and cleaning products/anti-allergy sprays within reach, this was definitely something that was well thought-out. Also the paddock area to walk dogs was okay for a short evening stroll. As you can probably tell from the previous points mentioned we are highly disappointed with our stay but wanted to show a true reflection of how this property is wrongly presented. Didn't feel like we had a relaxing break at all.

Had such a great time at the Dairy, we were concerned about location but it was perfect. So much to do in the very local area and not too far from our Favourite Beach Brancaster. The cottage was perfect felt at home straight away and our hosts were very friendly, helpful and able to offer good advice on place to go. Have recommended to all our friends and family, have been coming to Norfolk for a few years and this was the best yet. Very dog friendly and the hot tub is a must after a day walking the dogs.

WOW what a gem! I have absolutely no problem recommending The Dairy. Our week here was perfect in every way possible. Karen made us feel at home from the moment we met her and a very big thank you Karen for making our break just perfect. The Dairy is so cosy and comfortable. The lovely log fire. The amazing bedroom. It's four piece bathroom suite. The photos do not do it justice. I hope you will allow us to share your beautiful home again in the near future. Very best wishes, Andrew, Paul and Jack. X

The owner was a very welcoming host. The Dairy was a cosy comfy cottage with everything you could possibly need. The bedroom was very spacious and the bed and pillows were sooo comfortable. The garden and surroundings were delightful and the whole place was very relaxing. It was very pet friendly with a paddock to let your dogs off the lead.

This is a beautiful property in quiet location with added bonus of hot tub. It is reasonably accessible to most places of interest. A place to relax with a warm helpful host.

We have had the most relaxing week ever. The cottage is so warm and welcoming in a way it was great that it was such a freak cold week. We explored the north Norfolk area which was new to us had pub lunches, returned mid afternoon and lit the log stove which was so cosy! The bed must be the most comfortable, large bed ever, I have never slept so well! Totally dog friendly, you can even leave them and go out. All in all do not want to leave, can't recommend highly enough.

We felt so relaxed with our two dogs. We were made to feel very welcome and the hot tub was to die for. Even down to the plastic glasses and wine in the fridge and candles to light in the hot tub. We will be back.

Interesting location, excellent for dog owners as there are two adjacent fields belonging to the property. Very comfortable and peaceful.

Rated by Mrs Knighton reviewed on 15th June 2014

The Dairy was a cottage on the outskirts of a small village so had a real country atmosphere about it. The couple running this cottage were extremely pleasant and very welcoming while the cottage itself was wanting for nothing in comforts or amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay and would definitely recommend The Dairy to others.

Rated by Mr Hegley reviewed on 17th May 2014

The location was quiet and relaxing, ample grounds for the dog who was allowed to be free and enjoy it all too. The hot tub was one of the main reasons we booked this cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The size of the gardens and the paddock is perfect to give your dogs a lovely walk - all fenced in so no escaping. Bedroom is stunning, so light and airy. A beautiful, peaceful, relaxing environment. The hosts were so accommodating, lovely bottle of wine and treats for the dogs left as a welcome gift.

The Dairy is everything one could want from a holiday. Outside the lounge is an enclosed patio which is an absolute sun trap, we ate all our meal here. The gardens and the paddock are super. There is a hot tub which although enclosed you are able to sit in, and watch the stars it is a great experience not to be missed. The owners are fantastic, and very caring about there guests.
