Visited here as a family group for a week. We were not disappointed. Everything was just right. Very spacious with an amazing big kitchen, the living area looks out through the enormous bi fold doors to fields and fields of sheep. So tranquil. There is a massive garden and patio for outside eating. We were pleasantly surprised on the first night to have a visitor.... the very friendly, tame peacock. He came everyday to see us. The location was perfect for Porthmadog town, and the Black rock beach which was beautiful. The owner was so helpful and gave us tips about beaches and places to eat. Also there is a shared games room with a snooker table, dart board and table football. Lots of board games in there too. There is something for everyone. An enjoyable week was had by all.

Beautiful accommodation with all the amenities you could ask for. Couldn’t have asked for a better week! Lighting system was brilliant although we couldn’t get any lights outside to work other than the ones on the wall. Only suggestion would be some new pool cues (or just new cue tips). Being trusted to be left to your own devices makes such a difference on a holiday like this :D. Thank you

This exquisitely converted barn provides everything to make a perfect relaxing holiday. The fully equipped kitchen makes cooking a pleasure and the comfort of the conservatory makes it difficult to want to leave. Very friendly and helpful owners. We have been so happy here and the dog loves the garden and the nearness to the beach. We will come back!

We have now been to the barn five times and not once have we been disappointed. The barn it self is beautiful and the views to die for. The games room we always use as it has a pool table and football table.the beach is close by and lovely. Can't wait to return next year. Don't want to go home.

Well what can i say but Fantastic. The property is stunning with views to match, weather permitting, and the equipment leavel is superb. As we were there with children it was important that the internet was good and it was. We have all been to places with poor internet and thats it your child life is over as we know it and your life too due to the moaning. Great location, great property and great luxuries, high on my list for a return visit and friends already asking for the details via FB. SUPERB.

Having stayed in this property in June 2015 in which we loved the property it was a excellent 5 star holiday property , so upon our return we didn't hesitate in booking again for the following year (June 2016) When we arrived this year we was extremely disappointed with the drop in standards in a year. The property its self is excellent with lovely surroundings so it's a shame that lack of cleanliness and property maintenance as dropped. When we arrived we found a wooden stool up against the freezer door !! We then realised that the stool was holding the freezer door shut !! Making the freezer unusable for us as you couldn't trust a stool keeping the door closed - there wasn't even a simple not to explain this or apologise. We found a plate with traces of dried food on it and a glass with lip stick marks on the edge of it so we ended up washing most of the dishes before we used them - we had to clean the upstairs bath out before we used as there was marks and bath scum left round the edges from previous use - when we had the doors open you wouldn't believe the "dust balls and hairs" that blew out from under the sofa and downstairs double bed. We opened one kitchen cupboard and there was one of the roof end caps in there what ad obviously came off and instead of being fixed was just left in a cupboard - and we actually found a kids matchbox car under a sofa - maybe from a previous guest !! Again prove the cleaner isn't doing a good job. It's a shame the such a lovely property in a brilliant location is being ruined my silly cleanliness and maintenance issues - and this as certainly put us off booking again for 2017

Garth Morthin The Barn is in a lovely location with stunning views, away from it all. The weather was ideal for barbecues and breakfast on the excellent patio. A lovely modern converted Barn, an architectural gem.

Really well appointed cottage suitable for all weathers and great for the dog. A good base for exploring surrounding area.

Rated by Mrs Ellis reviewed on 22nd May 2016

The big open plan living space was perfect for our needs and the views from the garden were spectacular. We had a fantastic holiday in the property and would definitely recommend to friends and family and will also hopefully return again soon.

Garth Morthin was an exceptional barn with all the mod cons. The kitchen is well equipped with all the utensils we needed. We were lucky enough to have sunshine throughout our stay which gave us the opportunity to make full use of the fantastic garden area which also has fabulous views.

Rated by Mrs Kelly reviewed on 19th March 2016

A truly outstanding barn conversion - so light and airy. We particularly loved the underfloor heating, which kept the property at an even temperature. It was also lovely to see sheep at the bottom of the garden. The location is stunning, with the most fantastic unspoilt views. We all totally relaxed and recharged our batteries in this fabulous property.

Rated by Mrs Thatcher reviewed on 5th January 2016

The Barn is absolutely beautiful. Tasteful decor, comfortable and with the added bonus of underfloor heating we were toastie all the time. Oustanding unspolit views of the surrounding countryside. We all loved it.

Garth Mothin, The Barn is an amazing barn conversion, very high standard of fixtures and fittings. Open plan living and kitchen area perfect for big groups. Close to beach, walking trails and Portmadog. Would highly recommend

Garth Morthin The Barn is a fabulous place to stay, it's picture perfect. A great base for days out and an amazing place with a large garden for family fun. There were spectacular views. We chose to stay there as a surprise for my partners 40th birthday, and when we arrived, let's just say it wasn't just him who was very pleasantly surprised. It couldn't have been a more perfect choice, just wish we were staying longer. 10/10 on everything.

Rated by Mrs Key reviewed on 24th June 2015

Just arrived home from a week at this beautiful barn conversion. It is the perfect place to unwind and relax. A nice walk to the dog friendly beach. Comfy beds, good facilities, well equipped. The only negatives were the previous occupants hadn't washed the crockery and utensils properly but this was easily remedied, and quite a few fly's around but hey...its the countryside so only to be expected. A fantastic holiday!

Rated by pangykins reviewed on 11th June 2015

The standard of this property is exceptional. If you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday in a stunning location then this is it. The property is close to the beach (20min walk or 2/3 minutes in the car) and within reach of Porthmadog and Criccieth (both within 10 minutes drive). The open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area makes this property a real winner, with views across the fields to the "Black Rock" mountain. We truly did not want to leave and we will be returning in 2016.

Stayed here for 3 nights, which was not long enough - need at least one week to explore the beautiful surroundings. Have stayed in many places throughout the UK and must say that this was the best by far. The cottage is stunning and clean set in a jaw dropping location. The owner of this cottage has thought of everything you need for a relaxing stay. Have just booked my next visit and cannot wait!!!

Found this holiday let in Sykes cottages brochure, a very friendly, helpful agency. The brochure pix look good but in reality this barn conversion far exceeds them. This place will not disappoint anyone and the price is good value for this high level of accommodation

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 17th August 2014

The Barn is in an excellent location, close to the beach & to Portmadog for provisions. It is such a peaceful spot with lovely panoramic views with the rear garden catching the sun all day long. The conversion has been sympathetically done with just enough modern features to provide comfort. The open plan downstairs living area works very well making cooking an absolute treat. We would love to make a return visit.

Rated by Mr Balding reviewed on 9th August 2014

Cottage was in an ideal location and well designed. The bi-fold doors meant we could really make use of the garden and it was perfect for the children and dogs to go in and out. The BBQ was excellent. Beautiful views from the house. A nice selection of games, books and DVD's in the games room. The lighting and sound system are amazing! We would definitely return here.

Rated by Miss Sargent reviewed on 25th July 2014

The weather was superb, and the accommodation, location, standard of equipment, and the feel of the property and the grounds were a close match. A perfect base for touring the peninsula and only a short drive along a quiet lane to the delightful beach at Black Rock Sands.

Rated by Mrs Schofield reviewed on 28th June 2014

This property absolutely has the WOW factor, from the moment you open the door. For those of us who live in modern bungalows or Victorian semis, The Barn gives a taste of an up to the minute quality barn conversion. Porthmadog is a sweet small town with good access to outstanding mountain and coastal areas.

Rated by Mr Heald reviewed on 9th June 2014

The Barn was set in a beautiful location, close to the beach and other surrounding areas, such as Harlech, Criccieth, Abersoch and Caernarfon.

Rated by Mrs Myerscough reviewed on 2nd June 2014

The accommodation is superb. A very homely yet open feel is given in the open plan living room and kitchen area. The centre piece is the conservatory area with the lengthy patio doors, which transform the feel of the room once they are open. Nothing quite beats sitting outside with a beer on the patio taking in the air whilst listening to friends chilling inside. Already have friends asking me for the accommodation details, and will be happily forwarding them on.

Rated by Mr Greene reviewed on 24th May 2014

Excellent property in an excellent location. Very high specifications throughout with everything that we needed and more. Highly recommended.

Rated by Dr Pope reviewed on 10th May 2014

It was everything we had expected by the description, and more. There was nothing that we wanted for, every consideration had been given to ensuring the occupants had a wonderful place to stay. I would strongly recommend The Barn and The Stables, which we also occupied, to everyone; particularly having rented properties in this area for the past eight consecutive years. We will certainly be back on a regular basis in the future. Thank you for everything.
