This cottage is lovely: nice and spacious for our family of four, spotlessly clean, good quality fixtures and fittings with lots of equipment for home cooking if required. The photos do not do it justice! The real fire was also a bonus on cool evenings, especially with the kids! We saw an abundance of wild birds and red squirrels on the decking. The woods and burn at the back of the house provided endless entertainment for the kids. The owners live on site and were extremely friendly and helpful when required. It's worth noting that it is a bit of a treck to get anywhere (single track road for 20-30 minutes in either direction to a main road) but that makes it all the more appealing as it is lovely and quiet. Despite the rain, we explored lots of the west coast. The Crinan trail was a pleasant surprise, giving the most amazing views over the Sound of Jura. And Oban and Inveraray are worth a visit. I'd definitely recommend this cottage to families or couples who enjoy the outdoors.
Lovely cottage in pretty much the middle of no where. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Cottage is nice and small yet plenty of room for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids, one 3 years other 7 months). Nice fully equipped kitchen and living space with a lovely log burning fire. Nice big master bedroom with loads of room and a big twin room perfect size for 2 kids. Garden is nice and big and perfect for 2 kids to run around in. In the evenings it catches the setting sun and is a lovely sun trap on the decking. Would highly recommend and love to stay there again, so peaceful and quiet.
Set by the shore of Loch Awe this cottage is tucked away just off the single track road, it's about 30 minutes drive to Lochgilphead but well worth it. The cottage has a lovely large lounge area that commands a large corner sofa & dining table with french doors onto a decking area with table & chairs perfect for an evening meal looking out over the loch. The owner came and introduced herself shortly after our arrival and explained that the cottage was on a private water system, this means that even with filtering the water sometimes looks slightly brown due to peat, but she provides 2 bottles of spring water & a welcome basket of shortbread goodies & a vase of flowers. The cottage is well stocked with DVDs, jigsaws, books & games suitable for families and a number of information leaflets. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials. we had dinner in the cottage on a couple of occasions and had no problems with having the utensils we needed, the kitchen also boasts a dishwasher & washer. This is a great base for exploring from if you don't mind a drive around we visited, Isle of Bute, Arron, Mull of Kintyre, Oban and had a boat trip out to the Corryvreckan whirlpool - trips from Ardfern where there is a post office/general store which is the closet shop to the cottage.
A very warm and comfortable cottage and had everything we needed. We have had a fantastic Christmas which included lots of walks. Thank you for making everything enjoyable!
It was well equipped and off the beaten track so it was quiet.
The cottage was very well appointed and the area was beautiful and interesting.
The property is in a beautiful location, very quiet and tranquil. It was a great place to get away from it all and explore the local area!
The cottage was excellent and the welcome and hospitality provided by the hosts was superb. The peace and tranquillity made this a restful and relaxing holiday.
A beautiful, peaceful, private location with wonderful views along & across Loch Awe. There were many varied and interesting opportunities to explore from this location by foot, bicycle, car & boat. The cottage was very comfortable, superbly equipped and beautifully decorated. The friendly and welcoming owners of the property lived nearby and were very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife.
Beautiful countryside with lots to do and see. Cosy, well equipped and comfortable cottage with stunning views over Loch Awe, including lovely sunsets - so peaceful!
A real home away from home, the cottage was perfectly furnished with everything we could wish for and more. Books, DVD's and games for all ages. Very comfortable, great bedding, very clean and welcoming. The owners are very friendly and ready to give advice if needed, although very discreet.
The house was well equipped, and the scenery was fantastic.
Lovely, well kept cottage in a beautiful area. Friendly, helpful but non-intrusive owner. Highly recommended.
The views from the property are superb. It was a very relaxing place to stay.
We stayed one week in this house. It is well equipped and cozy. The road to the house is situated near a scenic lake.
The history of the surrounding area was very interesting. The scenery around the lochs were spectacular and the views from the cottage were fantastic. The peace and quiet at the cottage was unrivalled, just the sound of the nearby waterfall.
The location is very special. It is a quiet place in very beautiful surroundings.
A warm, comfortable cottage and welcoming owners. Very peaceful, off the beaten track which suited us very well. Many places of interest within a reasonable distance.
The cottage was the perfect place to return to after a day of walking or sightseeing. Clean, comfortable and with the log burner - extremely cosy! Beautiful views of the Loch and the chickens in the garden made our stay even better!
The cottage became home fairly soon, and the views are just stunning every corner you take it takes your breath away. Definitely a beautiful part of Scotland, worth to go back to see more.
A lovely peaceful location and the surrounding area is absolutely stunning.
The cottage was a real home from home. There were flowers in a vase, biscuits and fresh eggs waiting for us when we arrived. The information pack was very helpful, as were the various leaflets of local attractions. We felt that it was good value for money. The whole process of choosing the right cottage and booking was uncomplicated.
Cottage was beautiful and extremely child friendly, the views were amazing and was lovely to have an enclosed/safe outdoor space for the little one to run around. Not forgetting our new found friends - the 4 chickens.
The cottage is perfect we have visited three times a real home from home, well stocked kitchen, great views, peacefull, very comfotable, we love this part of argyll lots of places to explore and a great cottage to return to after a day out.
The scenery, solitude and walking. Our accommodation was wonderful, a real home from home. The holiday was perfect.
Beautiful and very clean house. Owners very helpful and kind. Definitely will recommend to friends
We wanted seclusion and we most definitely got it ~ a fabulous break for us ~ our own personal paradise!
A wonderful holiday! The cottage was very clean and nicely furnished. Very kind and helpful owners. Beautiful area with views from the windows. Perfect for those who like peace and calmness. We hope to go back later this spring!
Quiet location - a get away from it all holiday! Accommodation superb with lots of little surprise gifts given by the owners - free range eggs, basket of biscuits, bottled water, bed to die for - the best we have slept in. A 'home from home'.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The location was superb, very quiet and peaceful. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. This is the nicest cottage we have stayed in.
We love the area and this cottage is perfect to either stay in and enjoy the lovely views or come back to after a day spent exploring. The cottage is just what we were looking for and we have stayed twice this year. Perfect.
The cottage was outstanding, better than we hoped. The owners were helpful but left us to our own devices. All in all a great holiday in a lovely area.
We loved it! Mt boys would like to go back to Drover's Way and to Loch Awe - rowing and fishing!
Loved the location of the cottage, right in the middle of everything we wanted to see in Scotland. Set on a beautiful loch, the cottage itself just perfect, very beautiful and up to high standards. Lovely and friendly owners.
The cottage was really lovely, a proper home and had everything we needed. It was better than the pictures! The location was remote but we got used to it and enjoyed the peacefulness. We loved the area and all the activities we did.
This was a very comfy cottage in a beautiful location. th warm elcome from the owners and their children helped make this a great family holiday.
Peaceful with beautiful views. Being lucky with having weather helped a lot!
The cottage was tastefully furnished, very clean and well-equipped. We loved the wood burning stove. The location was tranquil and the scenery beautiful, just a few minutes walk from Loch Awe. There were a lot of activities and sights to see in the local area. We particularly enjoyed the horse riding lesson.
The property is done to an excellent standard with everything you could ever want or need.
A very comfortable cottage with lovely owners. We had an excellent time and will definitely be returning there in the near future.
This property was just like home from home. All equipment required for a relaxing stay. Onwers who live next door are very friendly and helpful Fresh eggs from hens roaming the garden. Property very isolated but the comfort and peacefulness more than made up for this. If you want a holiday away from it all with fine views but with all the mod cons you would not be dissapointed if you stayed here. Thank you to the owners for making us feel so welcome
Lovely well equipped, very comfortably furnished cottage with beautiful setting and lovely views as well as the most delightful hosts. Host family children played for ours with ours. Only slight downside for us, was that is was a bit more cut off than we would like - with a 25 mins car journey just to reach the main road, and start to go anywhere, which limited our opportunities to make the most of the sightseeing in the area.
We had no problems with booking or route planning, cottage was spotlessly clean, owners left us some special treats which was a nice touch. attractive location. We enjoyed fishing and pony trekking and sight seeing, one minor drawback was long drive down single track road, but would not stop us from going back again
Cottage and location were excellent. Very quiet retreat. No good if you want to socialise as its 8 miles to nearest pub! Perfect holiday for us though, great for walking, resting, peace and quiet!
Warm, cosy, elevated quaint cottage with loch views, ideal location to explore Argyll & Bute - 10/10 - I would highly recommend this cottage time and time again.
There is nothing about the place that we could fault. The view is excellent. There is a lot of walks that can be done in the surrounding area.
The cottage had everything required to make our holiday perfect. It had been renovated to a very high standard while skill keeping it's original character. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The views from the cottage were stunning especially in the evening when the sun was setting over the Loch. We would definitely stay at this lovely location again.
Everything was brilliant. We enjoyed our holiday so much.
Peaceful surroundings, owners were discreet but available & very friendly. Very warm welcome on arrival. An excellent base for exploring mid-Argyll with many places of interest within easy reach. The views from the decking were superb!!
I would highly recommend this lovely cottage to friends and family. It had everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. The rooms were bright and fresh and it was extremely well equipped. The views were beautiful. We enjoyed this area very much and hope to visit again soon. Thank you.
Everything was beautiful, we felt like we were at home, the hosts were very friendly!
Owners extremely friendly. Decoration of property excellent throughout. Property warm and comfortable. Extremely pleased with accommodation. Property isolated but this was the beauty of it and the surrounding scenery was superb. Blissful peace!! Will definitely recommend to others.
Scenic location, lovely cottage, wildlife, fishing, pony trekking, local walks.
If you want a get away from it all holiday this is the cottage for you. All the fixtures and fittings, also furnishings, are of the highest standard and we had no negatives with the cottage, highly recommended.
Gorgeous, immaculate cottage, just newly refurbished throughout - we were only the second guests - what a treat. Lovely lovely views too which were also a nice surprise! The hosts were lovely.
