This cosy bungalow was ideal for us. The facilities were good and it was very comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the time we spent in the garden. The owners were very welcoming and are keen horticulturalists.Their garden is wildlife friendly. The bird feeders were restocked daily and attracted tree sparrows and siskins. The fields nearby held yellowhammers and brown hares. We spent each afternoon on the swing chair overlooking the garden pond whilst enjoying a G and T. Idyllic!
We liked the warm welcome from the owner, the immediate environment and the ease of access to the regional sites and attractions.
We enjoyed our peaceful stay at Sunbeck Gatehouse. The owners made us very welcome, and we were delighted to share their wonderful garden, it was bird paradise. The location allowed us to explore some lovely villages, yet it was very close to York. We were pleased to return to this delightful hideaway every evening.

The cottage is in a secluded spot, surrounded by lovely gardens and it is very well maintained. It is just the place to go if you need to relax and unwind, which I did! The owners gave me a very warm welcome, and were there to give advice when required.
There is not a better place to stay in the area, it was a delightful cottage and dream garden, a very peaceful and tranquil setting. The owners are very friendly hosts, cant say enough about the place, it was wonderful, very relaxing - 10 out of 10.
The location was perfect; a great location for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors. The cottage was warm, cosy and tastefully furnished. Kitchen was fully equipped to make a Sunday roast! The garden was stunning even in Autumn. The owners (living on site) were very friendly and helpful. Hopefully be back next year.
Your photographs do not do this cottage justice. It is a very cosy place with excellent facilities and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The garden is superb and the owner encourages one to make full use of all the areas. We were fortunate weather-wise and so were able to spend time outdoors. We definitely give this cottage top stars and would gladly visit there again.
Good size for two. Nice quiet location. Good heating and a warm welcome. Overall a very nice detached cottage in a good location to get to many interesting towns, villages and sites of interest.
