Location Details

Launceston is situated on the Devon and Cornwall border and is dominated by the ruins of a Norman castle which sits high above the town. Launceston also offers wonderful architecture including exquisite Georgian buildings. Just three miles away is the Tamar Otter Park and taking a trip on the steam train from Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley on a 5 mile round trip is essential. Other places to visit are the stunning Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor and with delightful seaside towns nearby, Launceston is a perfect base all year round.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Reviews

When we arrived, the owners gave a friendly welcome and we walked into a lovely clean cottafe, with fresh picked flowers and an amazing welcome basket of goodies, a lovely touch that set the high standard of expectations, which we where not disappointed (which we enjoyed biscuits and chocolate throughout our stay). Large rooms, very clean and homely. Heaters when cold or even better enjoy the wood burner fire. Lovely Garden and fields to walk round, down to the river and back a good 30-40min walk. The owners have thought of everything to make our stay as welcoming as possible, from kitchen utils, foil, dish cloths to tea, coffee and sugar (saving us that dash to shops for the 1st shop) and a chance of a cuppa on arrival. Quiet days in, cupboard full of games when it rained. Absolutely loved the place. Only downside: wifi is intermittent, so if you have children or rely on it for searching your next days visits, can be annoying. Wifi speed is fast but internet access is intermittent. Would we stay again - absolutely without a doubt. This stay has set a high standard for others to follow.

A lovely spotless cottage with large rooms and everything you need for a quiet and peaceful week away. The Gardens and the scenery views from the windows are fabulous. Very well looked after with an array of wild birds constantly swooping in on the feeders. There is a large Woodburner in the lounge that's very easy to use and a basket of logs are provided. Easy off road parking. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone. Situated on a working farm and far away from the madding crowds. A truly fabulous week away.

We had a fantastic week, the cottage was perfect and our hosts were friendly and very helpful with information. Our only regret is not booking 2 weeks at this lovely cottage.
