The shared garden was great for the children. The sofas were very comfortable. The cottage smelled fresh and was clean when we arrived.

Rated by Mrs Moore reviewed on 2nd August 2014

We liked the remote country location and the fact that it was on a working dairy farm. It was furnished as if it was a home not a rental property, a real home from home. The owners were so friendly and were there if needed. A real getaway to enjoy the peace of the countryside. The village pub served very good meals at reasonable prices, but book ahead for 'pie night'! If the chickens are laying,Emma can sell you free range eggs.

It was a very nice cottage and was within driving range of a variety of activities. It was very nice to find we had complementary eggs from the owners that had been laid by their hens. We enjoyed watching the cows going to and from the fields daily.

Rated by Mrs Briggs reviewed on 27th October 2009

We had a very warm welcome throughout our stay, nothing was a problem. We enjoyed being part of a working dairy farm for the week it made us feel relaxed and at ease straight away. The owners of Downside made us feel welcome, giving up their own time to show us around the farm and the tractors, which gave our young son much pleasure. The cottage was well equipped for our requirements and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
