This lovely lodge set in the owner's extensive garden was a real find. The wildlife visited daily (red squirrels, spotted woodpecker, blue tits, chaffinches, pheasants, rabbits to name but a few). The amenities were 5*, and extremely comfortable. We would highly recommend this self catering home. It's set in the countryside, but only a couple of miles away from Ryde, with great access to the whole of the IOW. We will definitely be back as it was so relaxin. We had a wonderful Easter Break. Thank you Justine (the owner) for making our stay so special.

This is a beautiful little lodge in secluded gardens surrounded by all kinds of birds including woodpeckers and barn owls as well as lovely red squirrels in the tree which can be seen from the kitchen window. Thoughtful owner has made sure there are all creature comforts including a very large, supremely comfortable bed. There is minimal light pollution in this area even though it's very close to the ferry terminal and Ryde. The Fishbourne pub nearby is very cosy and Christmassy.

We stayed at this lovely place for one week, the weather - a bonus, but what a beautiful setting and lovely 'Cabin' to enjoy our week, the cabin is appointed to an extremely good standard and has everything you could possibly need for a restful, peaceful week. The surprise was the abundant wildlife surrounding us, many RED Squirrels, Stoats, Rabbits, wild fowl, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Goldfinches, Woodpeckers, BARN OWLS - I'M SURE I've missed some out, but you get the picture I'm sure! Beautifully sloping lawn from the entrance down to the cabin, trees nearby cabin which are frequented by Red Squirrels all day, many birds too. This place is a lovely sheltered and property, privacy assured as owner away most of the day, the owner is a lovely lady who is so helpful and welcoming. We had no reason to go out much, the swimming pool a very welcome bonus. All in all, a fabulously peaceful place, restful sleep is assured, we'll be back ther in 2019 and looking forward to it immensly.

Luvley cottage/lodge. Very well furnished. All amenities catered for. In a very nice part of the Isle of Wight. The red squirrels and birds in grounds a real treat. And also the amazing giant sized bed.

The location was perfect for what we wanted to do; it was very quiet and peaceful with lots of red squirrels and a variety of birds in the grounds. The lodge was warm, cosy, beautifully decorated & furnished and contained everything we needed. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to return or recommend to friends.

Wow I love this place so much. The host Justine was fantastic and could not do enough to make sure all of your needs are met. The Lodge was a real home from home, down to the biscuits on arrival. The dogs Wilf and Dougal were friendly and regular joined us in the lodge. The area is like you are in the middle of nowhere but Ryde is a couple of miles away.We came here because we wanted peace and quiet, We were not disappointed. Behind the house is a delightful little woods. If you go up the hill you will get amazing views of the Isle of Wight. The Wildlife Red Squires, Hare, Buzzards, Pheasants, and the Barn Owl of which I was fortunate to see, but did not have a camera in hand. The Springs is a little Gem and we will be back.

Rated by Mrs Croft reviewed on 30th August 2015

My husband and I first stayed at The Springs in 2014 and booked 2015's holiday when we got back home, that's how much we loved it! It is a very comfortable and cleverly put together cabin that is perfectly equipped for two people. If you are a fan of wildlife then you really shouldn't pass up the opportunity to stay here. The red squirrels are delightful - and are right on your doorstep every day - as are the various birds that visit; pheasants, partridge, green woodpecker, lesser spotted woodpeckers, greenfinches, goldfinches, chaffinches, blue tits, great tits and the very shy jay. It is a perfect get away from the day-to-day grind and gives you time and space to truly relax and unwind. The owner is very friendly and on hand should you need anything, but is respectful of your privacy too. If you can drag yourself away from the antics of the wildlife then seaside towns and island attractions are all within quick and easy reach. Only about 15 minutes away are some clean, quiet and picturesque beaches in Bembridge and White Cliff Bay which are worth making a special trip to. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Springs and will definitely visit again.

The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The wildlife was brilliant, with bird and red squirrel feeders placed just outside the kitchen window, which provided hours of entertainment. The garden was large and laid mostly to lawn. We made the most of the opportunity to use the swimming pool and the bed was wonderful - easily the most comfortable we've slept in.

So many times you visit a place with 5 stars and a luxury tag only to be disappointed. The Springs does not fall into that category. Rated 5 stars it is 5 stars plus. Everything about the accommodation is wonderful. Then there is the bird life. Oh and the red squirrels. Every time you glance out of the windows there are red squirrels, woodpeckers, long tail tits, blue tits etc massing the feeders so thoughtfully provided by Justine, the owner. Take a good camera and binoculars. Sit back with a cuppa or a glass of wine and enjoy.

This lovely Scandinavian style pine cabin was very comfortable and situated in peaceful surroundings. It is situated in the garden of a country house which was visited by very interesting wild life eg red squirrels and rabbits. It is the only cabin in the garden therefore it is ideal if you want a quiet romantic holiday with privacy. It is situated near Ryde on the Isle of Wight and is ideal for exploring the island. You will need a car to enjoy this property.

'WOW' just about sums up our stay at The Springs. Both myself and my partner normally enjoy holidays abroad but decided to do something a bit different and hire a cottage and our choice did not disappoint. The cottage itself is beautiful with everything you need for a short break (and I really do mean everything-from coffee right down to kitchen cleaner!!). The surroundings are stunning and if you're lucky, you will see an array of wildlife. Being in our early 20's, we wanted to explore the isle of wight and this could be done with great ease as we were so close to Ryde town and much much more. Unfortunately we didn't get to spend much time with the owner but she is such a gem and even offered to pop us into town so we could enjoy a romantic dinner without having to drive. She even posted my partners missing t shirt back to us as it had been left in the cottage by mistake! I would recommend staying at The Springs to everyone and we will 100% go back!!!

Rated by Becca B reviewed on 29th January 2013

We had a lovely stay here for a week in the summer - not that there was a lot of summer about! We chose this cottage because of its rural location but central(ish) to the island. In fact we thought the location was absolutely perfect. Not especially easy to find, being up a long quiet lane but well worth the effort. The owner's house is next to the cottage and is entirely secluded. We particularly enjoyed the fact that the cottage was visited by red squirrrels every day and in fact we were sometimes woken up by them scampering across the roof to get at the peanut holders that were so thoughtfully provided by the owner. The cottage had everything you could need by way of kitchen equipment and bits and pieces - dishwasher tablets, cleaning materials etc. Should we visit the Isle of Wight again we would try to come here.

The springs is a great place, gorgeous gardens and lovely interior too. We had a great time and enjoyed visits from the owners dog (he's harmless to those scared of dogs!) We went in November which meant that it was a lot cheaper but it also meant that a lot of place we wanted to go to had shut down for the winter (a lot shut on 31st Oct) I would recommend this place to people looking for a relaxing week to get away from it all!

Rose Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage set in rural surroundings. It's very spacious and airy and a great place to unwind. We particularly liked the natural light that the cottage benefitted from due to it's thoughtful design. We were lucky enough to see lots of wildlife during our stay at Rose Cottage. The owner took great care in ensuring that we had everything we needed, whilst being careful not to intrude on our short break. Due to the time of year we went, we think that Rose Cottage would benefit from some double glazing. Although the cottage was well insulated we found that a lot of the heat just disappeared out through the windows, thus making it slightly challenging to retain a comfortable ambience on very cold days of winter.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 3rd February 2010

Our hosts were lovely, friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable, but did not intrude. The cottage was charming and luxurious. Well fitted out with everything you could possibly need. Everything was to a high standard, stylish and very comfortable. The location was perfect for us. Very pretty surrounding, lovely views, lots of wildlife for interest and so peaceful and quiet. We could relax without being overlooked or bothered by neighbours. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely want to return. Can't think of anything we didn't like.
