Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Didn't quite know what to expect, but I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations- The cottage had everything we needed- fully kitted out kitchen with dishwasher; we had access to the washing machine and drying room (where we safely stored our bikes). Seems that the current description of the cottage is not up todate on the website- there was in fact excellent wifi in Lily cottage. Finally, water pressure and hot water in the shower was also excellent (thankfully not one of those flimsy electric heaters which barely warm up). Location- You won't be able to walk out or cycle out from the cottage but as long as you don't mind driving out, this will not be a problem. No issues for us- location was perfectly placed for day trips (which we did) to Llyn Peninsula, Aberglaslyn, Beddgelert, Llanberis and Cwm Idwal. There were also excellent cycle routes from Caenarfon (which is just 5 minutes away by car). Since we've been back, we've recommended Lily Cottage to numerous friends- will definitely stay again when we return to North Wales!
This cottage was excellent in every way - it was warm welcoming and attractive and had lots of lovely, homely features. Set on a farm, the whole complex was beautifully clean and well maintained, and there were many interesting curios scattered around giving the place character. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
Liked the location and layout of the cottage. It was very peaceful with space to relax indoors and outside.
The accommodation was excellent; very quiet, peaceful and the location was handy for exploring the area.
The accommodation was clean, comfortable and provided everything we needed for our stay. The owners made us very welcome and we were even befriended by her cat who spent several hours with us. As we are both disabled we found access to the cottage easy and the wet room an added bonus.
We had a warm welcome from the owner. The place itself was in a wonderful conversion, we could not fault it in any way; hopefully we will be back in the future.
Had a good welcome, with clear attention to detail. Properties and immediate area developed to a very high standard. In a good location for a wide range of activities and interests. There was sufficient local services for our needs, with a larger town only a couple of miles away. Ideal.
Cottage was very comfortable and owner was very friendly. Very quiet surroundings. Really restful holiday.
The cottage was nice and central for many of North Wales attractions.
A nice place to stay, very clean and tidy with a friendly owner.
A good welcome from the owner and clean accomodation. Location is excellent and I have no complaints about any aspect of the accomodation or surroundings.
The cottage was just lovely. When we arrived we were so taken by the whole area. Very well maintained cottages and gardens. Being on the farm was so relaxing just sitting out in our wee private garden listening to the cows. Terrific central area for the whole of North Wales. Owner was lovely and helpful. Good laundry area and pool table room. The most amazing sunsets I have ever seen. No hesitation in recommending this cottage and the area.
It was great, I could not think of anything that would have made the cottage better!
The location was perfect for travelling around North Wales. The cottage was a lovely place to come back to after a long day out. The scenery was beautiful and most importantly the weather was amazing.
The standard of everything was of a very high level. It was very cold and windy outside during our stay, but very warm and cosy inside. Everything we needed was to hand. We had a great time!
Great area to visit and Lily Cottage is ideally placed. The welcome from the owner was lovely, and we have already booked to go back next year.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the owner and the lovely touch of a little welcoming refreshment of a Welsh cake with jam and cream! Also, as my wife is disabled, we very much appreciated the facility of a walk-in wet room for the shower.
The cottage was so cosy and we found that we relaxed straight away. We went out each day but could have stayed in easily. An excellent base for exploring North Wales.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. A very peaceful area.
An ideal location close to mountains.
The cottage was just perfect. It was in a lovely location and we received a nice welcome.
A very cosy and comfortable cottage within easy reach of the places we wanted to visit.
Well maintained. Warm welcome. A very quiet area with lovely views over the Menai Strait. Easy access to Caernarfon.
The accommodation was great. It was situated in a good position along the north coast so that attractions were within easy reach. Not too far out of town, easy shopping in the day and good pub meals in the next village at evenings.
The welcome from the owner was very warm and friendly, we felt at home straight away. The property was excellent and in a very quiet location but close enough to reach good beaches. We definitely want to go back soon!
The cottage was relaxing and quiet yet near to shops if required.
Quiet place with beautiful surroundings and no interference from the owner.
Lily Cottage was very clean, nicely layed out, every item that you could think of was there in the kitchen, all you had to do was supply food and turn up. The location was very quite, but close enough to town if you wished to go and do shopping. I could not thought the anything, and i liked the underfloor heating in the cottage.
It was quiet, nice views, good location and very well decorated. I would live there if I could. Will recommend to friends!
Private, snug, homely and convenient location and facilities.
Very pleasant, tidy, clean property, situated in a quiet area which suited my wife and I. The Owners were very helpful in assisting with any requirement and also knowledge of the district. They made us feel very welcome.
Lovely accommodation, lovely area, very welcoming and helpful landlady. Will definitely visit again.
'Ouzo & Olive' - Greek Restaurant in Caernarfon, serves excellent food. Local towns within a few miles; Beddgelert, Betws y Coed, Llanberis are all worth a visit. Excellent for hiking & nature trail lovers.
The cottage was in a good position for visiting many places of interests including steam railways, castles and National trust properties. It was a lovely welcoming property to come back to at the end of the day. The weather was good and we were able to have some meals out on the attractive patio in the sunshine.
Situation and surroundings perfect. Privacy good. Very quiet. Gardens and surrounding area immaculately kept.
The people that run the cottages were friendly and invited us for champagne and fireworks on new years eve. Very nice. Owners kindly left milk, biscuits and some wine, very thoughtful.
Very enoyable stay. Lovely converted barn building in pleasant surroundings. Great location to visit mountains and coast especially for NT properties. Owners live on site and are available if you need them but the cottages are entirely self contained and private. Would definitely use them again if staying in this area.
A delightful 1 bedroom cottage in a quiet and peaceful location close to all that Snowdonia has to offer. The owner was very welcoming. A modern decor with all the mod cons to make our stay comfortable. I would stay here again on my next visit to Snowdonia.
A beautiful cottage in a lovely location close to Snowdon. Lovely welcome from the owners with Welsh scones, tea and coffee on arrival in cottage. A perfect get away from it all holiday.
The location is excellent, quiet enough to be relaxing with superb views, but close enough to the local town and supermarkets! The cottage and its setting were absolutely stunning.
Friendly, easy-going hosts and lovely cottage.
The location of the property was perfect - out in the countryside but close to the town. Good base for exploring the western area of Snowdonia.
The cottage and surroundings are a delight. We were very satisfied and enjoyed our holiday all the more because of the high standard of the cottage. The situation is central for so many locations: beaches, mountains, mines and walks and we could make full use of our National Trust membership at the properties nearby.
