Reviews

Didn't quite know what to expect, but I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations- The cottage had everything we needed- fully kitted out kitchen with dishwasher; we had access to the washing machine and drying room (where we safely stored our bikes). Seems that the current description of the cottage is not up todate on the website- there was in fact excellent wifi in Lily cottage. Finally, water pressure and hot water in the shower was also excellent (thankfully not one of those flimsy electric heaters which barely warm up). Location- You won't be able to walk out or cycle out from the cottage but as long as you don't mind driving out, this will not be a problem. No issues for us- location was perfectly placed for day trips (which we did) to Llyn Peninsula, Aberglaslyn, Beddgelert, Llanberis and Cwm Idwal. There were also excellent cycle routes from Caenarfon (which is just 5 minutes away by car). Since we've been back, we've recommended Lily Cottage to numerous friends- will definitely stay again when we return to North Wales!

This cottage was excellent in every way - it was warm welcoming and attractive and had lots of lovely, homely features. Set on a farm, the whole complex was beautifully clean and well maintained, and there were many interesting curios scattered around giving the place character. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

The accommodation was clean, comfortable and provided everything we needed for our stay. The owners made us very welcome and we were even befriended by her cat who spent several hours with us. As we are both disabled we found access to the cottage easy and the wet room an added bonus.

We had a warm welcome from the owner. The place itself was in a wonderful conversion, we could not fault it in any way; hopefully we will be back in the future.

Had a good welcome, with clear attention to detail. Properties and immediate area developed to a very high standard. In a good location for a wide range of activities and interests. There was sufficient local services for our needs, with a larger town only a couple of miles away. Ideal.

The cottage was just lovely. When we arrived we were so taken by the whole area. Very well maintained cottages and gardens. Being on the farm was so relaxing just sitting out in our wee private garden listening to the cows. Terrific central area for the whole of North Wales. Owner was lovely and helpful. Good laundry area and pool table room. The most amazing sunsets I have ever seen. No hesitation in recommending this cottage and the area.

The standard of everything was of a very high level. It was very cold and windy outside during our stay, but very warm and cosy inside. Everything we needed was to hand. We had a great time!

The friendliness and helpfulness of the owner and the lovely touch of a little welcoming refreshment of a Welsh cake with jam and cream! Also, as my wife is disabled, we very much appreciated the facility of a walk-in wet room for the shower.

Lily Cottage was very clean, nicely layed out, every item that you could think of was there in the kitchen, all you had to do was supply food and turn up. The location was very quite, but close enough to town if you wished to go and do shopping. I could not thought the anything, and i liked the underfloor heating in the cottage.

'Ouzo & Olive' - Greek Restaurant in Caernarfon, serves excellent food. Local towns within a few miles; Beddgelert, Betws y Coed, Llanberis are all worth a visit. Excellent for hiking & nature trail lovers.

Rated by Mr Harland reviewed on 9th July 2010

The cottage was in a good position for visiting many places of interests including steam railways, castles and National trust properties. It was a lovely welcoming property to come back to at the end of the day. The weather was good and we were able to have some meals out on the attractive patio in the sunshine.

Rated by Mrs Rapson reviewed on 3rd June 2010

Situation and surroundings perfect. Privacy good. Very quiet. Gardens and surrounding area immaculately kept.

Rated by Mr & Mrs Jackson reviewed on 19th April 2010

The people that run the cottages were friendly and invited us for champagne and fireworks on new years eve. Very nice. Owners kindly left milk, biscuits and some wine, very thoughtful.

Rated by Ms Morris reviewed on 4th January 2010

Very enoyable stay. Lovely converted barn building in pleasant surroundings. Great location to visit mountains and coast especially for NT properties. Owners live on site and are available if you need them but the cottages are entirely self contained and private. Would definitely use them again if staying in this area.

A delightful 1 bedroom cottage in a quiet and peaceful location close to all that Snowdonia has to offer. The owner was very welcoming. A modern decor with all the mod cons to make our stay comfortable. I would stay here again on my next visit to Snowdonia.

Rated by A FlipKey verified reviewer reviewed on 2nd December 2009

A beautiful cottage in a lovely location close to Snowdon. Lovely welcome from the owners with Welsh scones, tea and coffee on arrival in cottage. A perfect get away from it all holiday.

Rated by Mr Sturrock reviewed on 2nd November 2009

The location is excellent, quiet enough to be relaxing with superb views, but close enough to the local town and supermarkets! The cottage and its setting were absolutely stunning.

Rated by Mrs Ambrose reviewed on 21st September 2009

Friendly, easy-going hosts and lovely cottage.

Rated by Mr Davies reviewed on 25th August 2009

The location of the property was perfect - out in the countryside but close to the town. Good base for exploring the western area of Snowdonia.

Rated by Miss Green reviewed on 21st July 2009

The cottage and surroundings are a delight. We were very satisfied and enjoyed our holiday all the more because of the high standard of the cottage. The situation is central for so many locations: beaches, mountains, mines and walks and we could make full use of our National Trust membership at the properties nearby.
