Reviews

This is a lovely cottage and was larger than expected. The location is perfect. It felt secluded as surrounded by farmland, but is actually very close to Caernarfon and is an ideal base for exploring North Wales. The owner is very friendly and will give you lots of ideas of places to visit and things to do. There are several leaflets provided to help you select activities during your stay.

Our stay was just as we hoped it would be. Beautiful accomadation and very friendly owners and as they are your immediate neighbours this was important. Lots of fab places in the area to visit. As Caernarfon was only one and half miles from the cottage it was a slight disappointment that we could not walk to it, indeed really no where was excessable without first having to drive. Road out side the site of the cottages was a very busy one indeed and would have been very dangerous to tried to have walked anywhere.

The cottages are well maintained and beautifully done throughout. The pictures do not do them justice as they are actually a lot bigger than the pictures appear. A lovely welcome with fresh cream tea and milk in the fridge!

Have just returned from a week in Lavender Cottage - what a beautiful place to stay. The cottage is a real find - a quiet location and yet easily accessible to all the wonderful sights in the area. The cottage itself is furnished to a very high standard and is extremely comfortable and cosy. We were met by the owner who was delightful and made us feel very welcome. The owner had also included very thoughtful touches such as a welcome tea tray which went down a treat after a long journey. Rarely have we stayed in accommodation that is such a good standard - highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again either in the summer or for a winter break.

Rated by Mrs Simpson reviewed on 27th June 2011

The owner was very welcoming when we arrived and arriving back to a nice open plan living area with lovely shower was a real joy. The photographs on the website do not do the property justice as it is actually quite large which the pictures don't really capture.

Enjoyed it all. Cottage was lovely and in a nice place. The grounds were beautiful. The owners couldn't do enough for us, they are lovely. Definitely be returning and have recommended to our friends and family.

Rated by Mrs Murray reviewed on 6th January 2010

Despite the description it is not practical to walk to the nearest pub-- main road no footpath. The pub doesnt do food anyway. However not far to drive to a reasonable choice. Property ok for 2 adults-no more. Might be ok for family with 2 children but sofa beds in living room make different bedtimes difficult to accomodate. Very nicely converted barn and surrounding grounds but very difficult to cook-in due to non matching cooker grill pan etc .In fact rather hazardous!

Good standard of accommodation, clean and good decor. Children enjoyed the games room.

Rated by Mrs Austin reviewed on 3rd November 2009

Everything about this holiday surpassed our expectations. The high standards that have been achieved in every area from cleanliness of the cottages to their location made this an ideal choice. Our best wishes and congratulations to the owner on making it a holiday to remember.

Rated by Mr Whitfield reviewed on 24th August 2009

We loved the quiet rural setting of Lavender Cottage and its location was perfect for exploring the North Wales coast including Anglesey and also Snowdonia. We loved Lavender Cottage itself and it was a pleasure spending time there. We particularly enjoyed going for coastal walks around Anglesey, taking boat trips from Caernarfon along the Menai Strait and around Puffin Island from the lovely town of Beaumaris. Climbing Mount Snowdon was a highlight with some stunningly scenic views along the way.

Rated by Mrs Smith reviewed on 10th July 2009

A fantastic place in a great location. We received a warm welcome at the cottage and it set the tone for a great holiday. The accommodation was thoughtfully designed and tasteful. The location was superb, an ideal spot as a base for exploring Snowdonia - family friendly and a memorable place to relax and enjoy the sunset. Highly recommended
