The pretty village of Aberdovey is often called an artist's paradise because of its picturesque pastel painted cottages, eclectic little shops, traditional pubs and speciality seafood restaurants.
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Absolutely loved this little cottage, 2 mins from Aberdovey seafront, harbour and beach. Very cosy with both central heating and a wood burner, has a good size fridge/freezer, full size oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Iron and hairdryer provided. Although compact it is more than adequate as a holiday cottage, the bathroom is very small but has a good hot shower, the only thing my husband struggled with was no mirror in front of the sink to shave (there is a mirror but on a different wall.) The rear yard is small and only got the sun in the morning when we were there, it did have a washing line on which was great for drying bits whilst you were out for the day. No parking at the cottage but a permit is provided for the main car park. You can stop outside to unload. We had great weather when we were there, we walked the Roman Road, had fish and chips then sat on the beach and watched the sunset, the next day we walked up to the bandstand then got the train to Tywyn (not much there), walked the Panorama Walk on the ridge of the Happy Valley to the Bearded Lake, drove to the Dolgoch Falls, Dolgellau and onto Barmouth. Did the Wednesday market at Machynlleth then drove to Aberystwyth where we walked from the harbour round to the Cliff Railway up the mountain (amazing views) then back through the town. Also did a day to Aberaeron which is lovely. So many places to visit in a stunning part of Wales. We highly recommend this cottage and you won’t be disappointed if you book to go.
The location of the cottage was excellent; in the centre but not too close to hear any noise at night. It was just a short walk to the excellent beach, cafes and shops. The cottage was just as advertised; very cosy, well equipped to a high standard and very comfortable. Would highly recommend and hope to return again in the future.
Ty Gwyn was warm and cosy and the beds were comfortable. The shower room was small but with a good shower. The owner was helpful. Having a parking permit was useful.
This was my third stay at Ty Gwyn. The house is the perfect size for me and is always well decorated, clean and well equipped.
A very characterful and well appointed cottage.
We stayed for a week in beautiful Aberdovey. The cottage was clean, well maintained with all mod cons including Wi Fi, dishwasher and a superb kitchen. The cottage is decorated in the beachcomber style. It does have a small upstairs shower room, with basin and toilet. This did take some manoeuvring, and was a challenge for my son as he's tall. The bedrooms, a double and a twin were very comfortable. Bedding is provided and plenty of fluffy towels. The owner lives a couple of doors down, and is very helpful and knowleable, suggesting days out etc. Parking in Aberdovey is in the main sea front car park. The owner provides a car park permit for free parking. We hardly drove at all, except for a visit to the local Co Op and a day out. This cottage is superbly appointed central to the beach, shops and pubs and restaurants. We loved our stay.
The cottage is in an excellent location, just 2mins from the town & beautiful beach. The owner was most welcoming & helpful on arrival. The parking permit was a bonus! The cottage was beautiful & had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be going back!
We loved the cottage, it felt very homely and cosy. Aberdovey is a lovely little place with a great beach and picture perfect village and harbour. There's a great butchers down the street which I would highly recommend and three really nice pubs with a good selection of food on the menu.
A super cosy cottage in a superb location. Perfect for our needs.
The cottage was cosy comfortable and clean. Also there was good heating throughout. It was in a great situation, took pets and was just what we wanted. The owner was close by and very pleasant but not intrusive. We'd definitely come back.
Just loved the cottage and the owners were extremely helpful, lovely people. Would definitely stay again.
Ideal location close to beach, pubs and restaurants. Lovely cottage and very well equipped.
The close proximity to the beach and amenities. Friendly locals. Lots of wonderful walks and beautiful scenery. Kitchen was very well equipped. Log burner in the evenings was lovely and cosy (when we could get it lit).
A| lovely cottage and a very pleasant welcome. Very considerate of the owners to supply a parking permit. Close to the beach and lovely restaurants. Can highly recommend this cottage.
Had a brilliant holiday with the family and dog at this lovely old Fisherman's Cottage. It was furnished to a high standard with everything you need for a relaxing break after a long day on the beach. Aberdovey is a beautiful place, so clean and very dog friendly with a stunning beach and lovely seaside pubs and Shops. Will definitely book this cottage again and would recommend highly.
We liked the location of the cottage and how comfortable it was to stay there. The cottage had everything we required to enjoy our holiday.
The cottage was in a great location and the perfect size for our needs. It was really cosy and had everything we needed. The owners were really helpful prior to our holiday and everything was well organised. Lots of things to do in the area and around and it was great that there was a dog friendly area of the beach.
A really lovely and well equipped fisherman's cottage in a lovely village with lots of fantastic walks on the beach for the dog, good local pubs and great public transport that allowed us to visit other places in this beautiful area of Wales. Can't wait to come back!
Fab little cottage close to the beach. Lovely friendly village too! Lots of fantastic walks with the dog. The cottage was well-equipped to a high standard, cosy and well presented, comfy beds.
