We stayed here in December the same weekend as the Stratford Christmas market. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room. The house had been beautifully decorated including a Christmas tree and immediately put us in the festive spirit. Home made scones were also a welcome touch. The house was warm and comfortable. We just like to spend the weekend relaxing and enjoyed the selection of dvds available. We cooked all our own food using the aga and separate oven. There’s a large fridge freezer for storage and a pantry. We also lit the coal fire although it was more for effect as we were never cold. A word of advice if you decide to go into Stratford at Christmas. Get a taxi. It’s too far to walk and the roads are too busy. We drove in, got stuck in traffic and then struggled to park. There is also a National Trust property nearby where we also paid a visit. I would definitely recommend this property and would love to come back sometime.

We recently stayed at Highcroft for a 70th birthday celebration. The house/cottage itself is very large with an 'old world' feel. The first impression is one of a home from home with a cosy feel although the aga does mean a very warm kitchen throughout the summer. The home made scones are a nice touch on arrival. The overly personal items such as family passports in the drawers left us feeling as though we were slightly intruding on someone's space. The older members of the group loved everything about the house and the furniture was exactly what they like. Unfortunately, those of us with children were concerned about several safety issues; the rugs that slipped, the glass greenhouse in the garden, the wobbly chairs, no locks on Windows etc The grounds were lots of fun with swings, slide etc being used a lot by the children. Again unfortunately the safety padding on the trampoline didn't fit so we didn't use. The tennis court was a great addition and the children loved playing here. On arrival we were setting up the rooms ready for the rest of family to arrive when we discovered the roll away single bed was broken with one set of the legs not working. We phoned the owner who did not see a problem with this and suggested one of the children sleep on the floor, this is not what you expect. We specifically booked a house for ten, there were ten people so we needed beds for 10. We lost all confidence in the owner sorting this issue and sorted a put up bed ourselves. Not what you expect! Lots of games, jigsaws, racquets and even a rocking horse but overall this would suit groups of older visitors and not ones with small children.

A lovely homely large house, perfectly suited to house our guests celebrating a special birthday. The tennis courts were a bonus. There was a lovely atmosphere to it all.

Very comfortable family home and a great garden, especially for young children.

Rated by Mrs Barber reviewed on 6th April 2016

Such a great atmosphere to the cottage, it was just far enough outside of the town that you could enjoy the birds. Plenty of things for the young and old to do at the cottage, we particular loved playing tennis and my niece loved the trampoline.

It had great character and facilities, the kids couldn't keep off the tennis court. Would love to stay again.

Great for groups and kids. Spacious rooms everywhere. The Aga supplied cosiness and warmth. Highly recommended. Scones on arrival. Very clean and tidy. Plenty of kitchen cupboards to store supplies. Would be even better in the spring/summer when you could use the tennis court fully.

An excellent location and the facilities were superb for the children. The grounds were beautifully maintained. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed all that Stratford upon Avon had to offer, including the theatre, the river, the Mad Museum and the excellent children's playground.

This property was much better than we imagined. When the sun was out we sat out on the patio area and when it got a little cooler the big lounge room was fantastic!

A wonderful, safe, self-contained, well-provisioned family home which was very obviously just that (a family home) and has retained that feel through the transition to holiday let. Lovely garden and grounds; very exciting to have the tennis court; trampoline loved by the kids. Super convenient for Stratford and a Waitrose only five minutes away. Owners very friendly and helpful. I couldn't recommend this place more.

In a great location and the house was big enough for us all. Had easy access to Stratford, good for dog walks and generous gardens. It was a well equipped cottage with the feel of a family home - oh yes and a tennis court!

Thank you for a lovely holiday house!

Rated by Mrs Darby reviewed on 13th September 2014

Property is situated just outside Stratford, which is a bustling town with a big traffic problem, so being a mile or two away helped make our stay more peaceful than being in Stratford itself. The facilities at the house are first rate, lovely HD television, WiFi and the house has lots of character; the Aga cooker is a real treat. The garden is bigger than you might expect, with a small and safe trampoline, and the tennis court was enjoyed by young and old(er) alike. Plenty of car parking.

Rated by Mrs Tuckett reviewed on 3rd July 2014

Lovely, comfortable house, a home-from-home. The owners were so friendly, welcoming and most helpful. The garden was a delight, with wider grounds to enjoy as well. All in all, a wonderful holiday location; lots to do in the locality to suit all tastes with a beautiful, well-equipped and relaxing base to come back to. Can't praise it enough!
