Location Details

The fishing village of Kilkieran is on the dramatic coastline in County Galway. It features a stone pier and from here visitors can watch the fishermen as they process the day's salmon and seaweed. There are unspoiled beaches just a short drive away, as well as the beautiful National Park of Connemara and the magnificent Connemara Loop. There are many lakes in the area so it is an angler's paradise, and if fishing is not your thing then there are plenty of walking opportunities to take in the glorious scenery. A little further away are the Aran Islands, and a boat trip across to the islands can give you a taste of traditional Irish life. This area is the perfect place to relax and escape for a while.

Towering cliffs stand next to vast stretches of golden sand, whilst vast mountain ranges cradle cool, low-lying lakes. The Galway region epitomises the term ‘great outdoors'; with fantastic walking and cycling and exhilarating water sports.

Reviews

Lovely wee fishing village. Very restful and relaxing, good for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life. Very picturesque. Nice small beach nearby.

The house was the best holiday house I have rented. Spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standard. The setting outside was gorgeous, landscaped garden, trees and a decking area. My nieces were able to play around in safety. I would highly recommend this house for rental. Connemara of course was spectacular. No photograph unfortunately can do it justice.

Very nice cottage, ideal for 4-5 person, beautiful and quiet place, with garden and nice view.

Lovely, clean cottage with a great location in the tiny village of Kilkieran, 5 minutes walk from a shop and the pub. Great beaches nearby and although it was January we got wrapped up and got lots of fresh air! Very good for the children. Great crossing on the fast ferry with Stena Line.
