Positioned on the Kintyre Peninsula, this property offers panoramic countryside views and period accommodation. With three double bedrooms – one en-suite, two twin rooms, one of which is also en-suite, and a single, this is an excellent place for a large family reunion, a group holiday with friends or a small tour group. The rest of this impressive house is composed of a fitted kitchen with dining area, a separate dining room with flame effect electric fire, a lounge with wood-burning stove and a sunny conservatory. Outside, guests can enjoy the use of a lawned garden and off-road parking for five cars. Even two well-behaved dogs are welcome, making this a welcoming and friendly property at any time of the year.

Enjoy a round of golf at Machrihanish Golf Club's links course, try rough shooting or fishing with the owner, and with beautiful scenery to enjoy, a walk amongst the hills is a must, before returning to this delightful, cosy Campbeltown cottage for a drink in the garden, or to curl up in front of the open fire. With plenty of activities on offer, plus the chance to spot a dolphin or seal basking in the local waters, this Campbeltown cottage is an ideal base for exploring this lovely part of Scotland.

Once boasting a vast fishing fleet and (apparently) 34 whisky distilleries, the town now produces two popular single malts - Glen Scotia and Springbank. The Campbeltown Heritage Centre, housed in an old church, is definitely worth visiting, as is the Tartan Kirk - a striking construction that provides an interesting insight into its past life. The 'Wee Picture House', the country's oldest working cinema, is an art-deco fan's dream, whilst just a few miles to the south is The Mull of Kintyre â formerly the Mull of Cantyre â made famous by the Wings song.

Homestone Farm is a lovely, big house in a lovely spot. The owners are really friendly too. We would love to go back in the summer.
The house was huge, there was plenty of space for us all. There was an ample supply of logs for the fire, and the sitting room was really cosy when the fire was lit. Nice to wake up to the gentle sound of the cows in the barn. The owners and their two delightful collies were friendly and were particularly kind in letting my teenage daughter help groom and have a little (led) ride on Dusty, it was the highlight of her holiday as it is not something she would usually get the opportunity to do. The house was well situated with lovely walks for the dogs on the doorstep and the beach walks are only a short drive away. There is lots to do and loads of wildlife to see, plenty of buzzards and deer. We were over the moon to see two Golden Eagles, and the seals in the sea at Southend were close enough to almost touch!
Welcoming and warm atmosphere, local walks, friendly dogs and unlimited firewood! We could not have asked for any more for our New Year stay. This was our second time at Homestone and it exceeded the great experience we had the first time round. What a great place to stay for a large group of friends or family!
This holiday cottage provides the 'get away from it all' and relaxation that anyone could wish for. As a family we needed a home away from home and this ticked all boxes.
A group of 11 Glaswegians and one dog spent an amazing week here over New Year and all our dreams came true - a fantastic experience! The house itself is beautiful, always kept warm by the log fire and portable heaters, with 2 friendly farm dogs - 1 that will literally follow you anywhere! We were left to our own devices, but the owners were always on hand if we needed anything. I would recommend visiting the Springbank Whiskey Distillery for a tour in nearby Campbeltown (although the super-strength rum should come with a health warning!), as well as a trip by car (or bike as one of us did) to the outstandingly beautiful Mull of Kintyre. Cannot think of a single negative thing to say about our trip, would recommend to anyone and would love to back in the future.
Our large family group felt at home immediately, particularly with the welcome from the beautifully behaved farm dogs, Ruby and Poppy and the housemartins nesting in the eaves. There was a double bed in every room, plus singles in some. The house has a very comfortable feel about it, and the area is so beautiful that we would go back at the earliest opportunity. This is no designer property, but that wasn't what we were looking for!
A lovely big house, and perfect for a large family with young children present. The views and location are excellent and the position makes it safe enough for the young ones to run by themselves for a while.
I found this farmhouse not too bad, nice size we were left alone to get on with things ourselves any thing I had to ask was done ok no problems, One of the main problems with the place was lack central heating we had a nice open fire in the lounge but all the other rooms had very cheap electric fires and I'am sure must have cost a lot in electicity as we used five bedrooms and the dining room & kitchen as we were up at the end of October/nov. it was cold at night, the cooker in the kitchen some of ovens did'nt work, it was quite clean and enough amenities for all us five adults and four children, The best I liked about the place was a nice location to the town, lacked any use of telephone and no signal for mobiles unless you walked to the top of the hill worried me a little if there was an emergency
Loved the fact that it was in the countryside, as we are all from Glasgow we are not really every in the countryside. Love that there are 2 friendly dogs outside the house all day and night.
The amount of space in the house is excellent. Excellent landlords there to help but not intrusive. Peace and quiet even though the farm is a working farm.
Nice and peaceful, restful location.
This house is a lovely large size, feels spacious. The bedrooms are comfortable with great en-suites. Great rural views.
Secluded, safe for kids, spacious accommodation, woodburning stove with plenty of logs provided and topped up regularly.
