Perfect setting , cottage very tasteful decor, everything we could possibly need for our comfort and catering, Charming hosts. Wonderful rest full and beautiful country side. Close to so many interesting places. Many thanks we will always remember this week in Cumbria Catherine and Bob Cape Town

Woodside Barn very clean and well maintained house throughout - better than some properties we've paid double the price for. The downstairs extra bathroom was a fantastic feature for a property of this size. The owner was a very friendly but discrete. The weather was beautiful so the garden made the holiday-sunny from dawn to dusk & well maintained.

The cottage was excellent, very peaceful and tranquil. Far better than we could ever have expected.

Finding places to stay with a two year old and ten month old is always a challenge. It was lovely to stay somewhere equipped with cot, high chair, stair gates and even plastic cutlery! The cottage was beautiful and the garden ideal for playing out. Well situated for days out including the south lakes animal park and aquarium. The owners were really helpful when we needed them and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woodside Barn.

The cottage was well equipped and situated in a peaceful location with many attractions easily accessible. The owners were very welcoming but at the same time not intrusive.

How beautiful the cottage was! The location was gorgeous and the owners were extremely helpful and polite, with nothing too much trouble. Loved the whole long weekend, kids loved it with plenty to do and we will definitely go again.

It was a fabulous week. I would like to go back again, it was a nice place and we had a fabulous time. Very clean and fabulous decorated house. I will recommend to my friends and family.

Excellent, comfortable cottage with all of the facilities you could need and more. Very quiet location surrounded by countryside and around 3 miles from Ulverston.

The overall standard of the cottage and its quite peaceful location were above our expectations. The welcome of pack of milk, eggs and biscuits left by the owners was a nice touch.

Quiet and relaxing Lovely cottage and garden - like being in Springwatch with so many baby birds and feeding parents. The Welcome pack was very welcome after a long drive. Couldn't fault the accommodation or the friendliness of the owners. Will definitely book up again.

The owners were very helpful and welcoming, we felt very at home from the beginning. Cottage very well furnished and decorated and the gardens were lovely with plenty of seating. No hesitation in recommending this property to anybody who likes a more secluded area to stay but still have access to lots of tourist must sees.

A well-stocked, clean and roomy cottage in a picturesque location. The kitchen was excellent and even came with free eggs and milk. Good range of DVDs and books in the living room catering for all ages and a Wii console also provided.

Really nice barn conversion with awesome views and surroundings. Only downside is the remoteness. It really is slap bang in the middle of nowhere with only ulverston nearby for those sans voiture Steve was extremely friendly and gave us a free lift into town one night Excellent stay with great accommodation

The peace and quiet was lovely; it was wonderful to just sit in the garden and do nothing with only the birds and sheep to listen too. We couldn't of stayed in a nicer place, it was a haven.

Excellent location. Cottage is quiet with beautiful views but close to busier areas like the beach and mountain areas. Owners also live on site but are unobtrusive so we could still relax and enjoy our holiday. Very comfortable cottage and a good size for a family of four. We really liked the children's books and the DVDs in the cottage.

Had a lovely family break and felt very at home at Woodside Barn. Would recommend this cottage highly for a break away with family or friends.

We had no contact from the owners on arrival, and had to phone them with a query, despite the fact, we discovered later, that they lived on site. The property was clean and spacious and just what we were expecting, though I feel the description of the bathroom as "luxury" is stretching the point a bit. It is a quiet location with plenty to do within a reasonable distance, the weather was poor so we didn't get the opportunity to explore the immediate area as much as we would normally. The building work going was a bit disconcerting as it would appear the holiday accommodation is being added to, if this is the case it will give it more the feel of a holiday complex. The biggest down side for me is the proximity of the wind turbines, and I cannot believe permission was given to site these monstrous white elephants in such an area. I live in a National Park and fear for its future if these things are allowed to spread.

We love this complex of cottages, and have stayed here, three times in the past 18 months. The owner is helpful and friendly. The area is delightful, with many places to visit, well away from the busy tourist areas! A little bit of Heaven!

Lovely secluded and peaceful cottage with very helpful owners on site. Everything in the cottage was well maintained and although the week was very cold weather-wise, we were snug and warm.

All our needs were catered for to a high standard. The cottage was very cosy and very tastefully decorated. We liked the location, secluded and peaceful. I particularly liked all the little knick knacks around the cottage, made it feel very homely.

Lovely cottage with nice garden with swing seat was lovely. Also the chickens and the footballer dog were great fun.

The standard of the accommodation was very high. The location was a little remote but suited our needs for this holiday. We enjoyed visiting this part of the country for the first time and we would recommend it.

A lovely welcome pack of eggs and wine were tasters of a wonderful stay at woodbarn. Cottage was well equipped with lost of extras like stair gate, Dvds and games for kids. Dalton animal park our family's favourite location- very closeby. No tumble drier but clothes soon dried on clothes horse and clothes line provided. Would go back tomorrow and see the many sites not yet visited!

Woodside Barn supplied us with first class accommodation in a convenient location. South lakes Animal Park is located only a few miles away - a favourite with the kids. The owners attention to detail in the welcome pack, DVDs and games were all appreciated.

Cottage had everything you would need to make the holiday go well. Had highchair, child gate, well stocked kitchen, games, DVD and books. Cottage very clean and maintained to high standards.

Woodside Barn was 5 star, It's the best quality cottage we've stayed at! The owners were very friendly and not at all intrusive. They kindly left us wine, fresh eggs and milk, which was much appreciated. There was so much to see and do and the surrounding area was ideal for walks. It's the only time we've left a holiday and all agreed we want to re-visit next year.

We were really impressed by the standard of the cottage, a very relaxing and cosy place. A good central spot where you didn't have to travel too far to see what you wanted with Lake Windermere only half hour away.

Cottage was lovely, everything was of a high standard; decor, furnishings, ornaments, pictures added to the very nice feel of the cottage, which we felt was very good value for money. The Wii and games/books at the cottage were a real bonus. Close to a really good pub for meals 'The Farmers Arms' in Ulverston. Although on the southern fringe of the Lake District it was very easy to access lots of interesting places.
