Luntley is a hamlet, tiny in size and rural in location, set to the north of Herefordshire in the Welsh Marches. Visitors to Luntley will enjoy the walking and cycling available in the surrounding countryside, while for amenities with character, head 2 miles down the road to Pembridge, a medieval village on the Black and White Village Trail, whose half timbered houses, three olde worlde pubs, 14th century market hall and interesting church make this village a firm favourite with visitors. Hereford and Hay-on-Wye are within easy reach, and well worth the trip.
Herefordshire offers visitors the chance to journey through lush green countryside, enjoying splendid black-and-white timbered villages, a magnificent cathedral city, a fairytale Georgian castle at Eastnor or books galore in famous Hay-on-Wye.
We had a lovely stay at this truly delightful yet extremely practical property amongst the quintessential English countryside. One couldn't wish for more as we enjoyed long walks throughout the area taking in the sights, sounds and smells. Overall, highly recommended accommodation with welcoming and friendly hosts.
A fantastic place, I particularly liked that it was so spacious.
It was very peaceful, the owners were very welcoming. The barn was very warm, the under floor heating was great. There was everything you needed to cook Christmas dinner and a nice big table to sit round.
We stumbled across the Hop Kiln whilst looking for somewhere to stay at short notice for 4 adults and 3 kids for a long weekend. It turned out to be perfect for us, lots of space and an easy space to relax. The accommodation is clean and well presented both inside and out. No complaints at all. If we did have one criticism it would be that some of the kitchen equipment could do with a bit of a refresh. Whilst there is plenty of it, some of it is a bit tired. Most of the knives are blunt and the top oven didn't work. Booking could have been a little easier. I found it presented with prices on a booking site, and then on their own site without prices. When I tried to book it directly it got more complicated than it needed to. If we did have a desire to go back to that area of Herefordshire we would definitely consider it again. The local kart track is also worth a visit.
As a family we rented three of the cottages for our daughter's wedding. It was the perfect setting for a family get together! The cottages were very well equipped with everything we needed and more. Hop Kiln was very spacious and served as a meeting point for everyone to have breakfast. The surrounding area was beautiful and we visited two lovely National Trust properties. The gardens looked lovely and would be wonderful in the summer. The cottages were all spotlessly clean and the heating was very adequate. A very memorable wedding and holiday in Herefordshire! Highly recommended!
It was good to be sitting around the big dining room table with friends and family (with plenty of room around the table even though we were 9)!
Friendly owner. Spacious and comfortable accommodation. Quiet area. Had a really enjoyable stay.
The ground floor of the property was spacious and ideal as we had two children under five so there was place for them to play. The garden and paddock behind was ideal for ball games and play.
The peaceful setting, the paddock for the grandchildren to play in and the weather was lovely. Owners were very helpful. We had a lovely week with children and their children.
The property is set in a lovely location and the twin bedroom was great for our children. Our hosts were also very friendly!
Excellent accommodation. Had a very relaxing holiday. The owner couldn't have been more helpful, even letting my grand-daughters feed and hold the baby lambs! Very peaceful area set in lovely countryside.
All the living space, it made all the difference between feeling cramped with 9 people and a baby, and having enough space for everyone.
A beautiful property in a part of the country we had not visited before. There were plenty of interesting places to visit. The owners were very helpful and keen to suggest places to visit should we need it. Would like to visit the area again.
Liked the owner's greeting and cakes on arrival. Isolation and no light pollution so the stars shone brightly. Location good for touring the features of the area. WiFi was excellent to make up for lack of mobile coverage.
The whole cottage was of very high standard. It was very comfortable and well equipped. We would definitely book to stay again.
