We have just checked out and we miss it already. I travelled with my husband, sister and 3 year old daughter who frankly adored every minute. It's well off the beaten track but the postcode takes you right there, down single track lanes but theres really not a lot of traffic. It's a gorgeous setting and theres a warm welcome. We were surprised to find the kitchen really well stocked - if someone left a bag of pasta or jar of sauce, then it stays for the next person. It made preparing meals much easier. The owners are wonderful and were great with our little girl - we went to see milking time and even got some fresh eggs for breakfast. We could let her toddle round the garden safely. The added bonus were the daily visits from the very lovely Molly, the farm labrador. Add in the donkeys at the bottom of the lane (not part of the farm) and you have a very happy child and mum! Know that it is isolated, so you need a car unless you are a dedicated Walker. It's incredibly peaceful, but the will be some noise - this is a working farm and you should bear that in mind. Cows need milking and sometimes the tractors are out - our girl loved it.the hosts are very willing to let you see their way of life. We couldn't find any downsides and are already desperately keen to plan next year!

This property is a little remote from the nearest large town, Clonakilty. It is in Reanascreena, with an address of Ross Carbery, BUT after you find it, it is a lovely place to stay and relax after adventures just like home. The owners and proprietors are dairy farmers on the other side of the hedge. The cottage is a remodel of a old stone home used by their grandparents many years ago. The facilities included all the amenities for a very pleasant stay. We used this location for day trips along the coast of West Cork including Kinsale, Clonakilty, Timoleague, Skibbereen, Baltimore, Bantry, and all the peninsulas to lighthouses. Two special spots we visited were Galley Head Lighthouse and Old Head of Kinsale Lighthouse and Golf Club.

The location and surroundings, was lovely place to relax and just 15 minutes from the coast at Rosscarberry and 20 minutes from the lovely town of Clonakilty. The scenery was amazing and the people in the area and the family who own the property were so welcoming and friendly. This is without doubt one of the nicest places in Ireland

We used this property as a base for visiting the South West of Ireland. To that end it was ideally located. The property was clean, tidy and comfortable to be in. It is within good striking distance of Clonakilty, Skibereen, Mizen Head etc. If you like cows there are plenty to see and hear because this cottage is right next to the owner's working farm. First class accommodation; we would go back again.

We spent a fabulous 4 days in the cottage mid-December, as a group of 4 friends in their 20's it provided absolutely everything (and much more) than we expected. Great local pubs, beautiful scenery and welcoming locals. We chose not to hire a car and did not find it a problem in the slightest. There is an excellent taxi service which is very reasonably priced, and a reliable bus service into the larger towns. Whether walking is on the agenda or sitting in front of a roaring log fire, the surrounding countryside and villages in West cork are as picturesque as they are welcoming, with plenty to keep you occupied. We ate out a few times and experienced an extremely high standard of locally sourced food, particularly seafood straight from the coastline. The cottage is in excellent condition with cosy rooms and a spacious open plan kitchen containing all mod cons and appliances. One of the most memorable and enjoyable holidays we have been on.

We spent a very enjoyable week there at the end of June with my wife and 2 young children (7 and 5 years old). The house is about 5 miles inland from Clonakilty and Rosscarbery nestled in a small valley near the small village of Reenascreena. We were definitely glad that Nora, the landlady came and met us in Rosscarbery to guide us there as I wouldn't fancy trying to find it! You would definitely need a car or motoroised transport if you were planning on staying here. There were nice touches on arrival such as milk and butter in the fridge and fresh flowers. The house was as nice as pictures suggest with a c. 1/2 acre garden and is next door to a working farm. Inside, the house was well maintained and a nice bright feel to it. It proved an ideal base from which to see much of west Cork – we spent a number of days on the nice sandy beach in Warren strand near Rosscarbery interspersed with trips to Kinsale, Skibbereen, Clonakilty and Union Hall. We were lucky with the weather during our stay but even on the odd rainy day there was still enough to do. There is a nice hill walk up Carrig Fada nearby which Nora told us about. It's a steep climb but not too long and worth the view from the top. We would thoroughly recommend it as an ideal location for a relaxing West Cork getaway.
