We where put in one of there log cabins by our insurance company as we had a leak at home . Good things it was clean two nice lakes but one did have a green bloom on it but they where treating it . We had our own hot tub which we loved beds where a bit hard but ok . What we did not like was the fact you could not bring any one to visit on less you paid £10 per person, plus you could not bring children on but there was a few kids on the site when I asked I was told they own there own log cabin so they where allowed to bring children on very unfair . There was no WiFi which in these days as got to be a must .

The lodge is on a lovely site with very friendly and helpful staff. The lodge was very clean and warm. The beds were very comfortable, there is quite a bit of traffic noise from a near by road. W hat could make the lodge perfect would be a nice comfortable sofa and chairs you can chill out on and watch tv. They were very upright and the sofa very small. Could do with tv in the bedrooms. The hot tub was lovely after a long day of walking, but the decking and steps to lodge very slippy

Lodge was spotless, bigger than we thought, well equipped and beautifully furnished. Our own hot tub was a real treat.

On arrival at the lodge everything so meat and tidy and clean. Fresh flowers and bottle of wine which was nice. Enjoyed our stay ,only downfall was the traffic noise.

We had a very relaxed and an enjoyable holiday in the Callow Lodge, we would certainly come again. The hot tub was a great addition and well used. The overall experience couldn't be faulted and we loved that there were no children around while we were there.

The hot tub on the deck! We made use of this every day. The reception and general staff were very helpful, the site owners were extremely courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them. They gave us lots of information about the surrounding areas.

My wife and I are retired professional people and always go away for my birthday in April. The reason we chose Callow lodge was we wanted / needed a stress free break. Upon arrival on site the greeting was very warm and we were handed a list of 15 rules regarding the use of the hot tub. These included showering before use, don't exceed 30 minutes in the tub, don't consume alcohol and don't use after dusk !!! The rules concerning the use of the lodge included wearing a pair of slippers whilst inside ( provided and worth about 50p per pair) and it was suggested you take them home at the end of your stay and be charged £4 per pair. The towels provided were not matching, of poor quality, not new and again could be taken home and charged for. The crockery was acceptable but the cutlery was disgusting and far from what should be provided in what is described as a luxury lodge. Because I have a mobility problem I normally keep all of my fishing tackle in an expensive trailer directly outside my accommodation. I was told, after paying my deposit ,that it would have to be kept some 100+ yards away so I had to buy another car big enough to hold everything. All in all this turned out to be an extremely stressful break and the lodge fell well short of what we would describe as luxurious. At the end of your stay you are required to strip the bed and put all dirty linen and towels in the hallway. We are in the market to purchase our own lodge but this is one site that won't be included in our short list. Gordon & Jenny Hinchcliffe.....Chesterfield.

It was exactly what we were looking for, tranquillity! Had a very relaxed feel even in the communal parts of the park, the entire experience was wonderful. It was close to a handful of places you could grab a bite to eat. The lodge had a very welcoming feel, modern with a feel of homely comfort. Fab.

It was so relaxing and a lovely place. Really enjoyed the fact we could just jump in the hot tub and it was private.

We have just returned today from 'Callow Lodge' and we must admit we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Lodge. Facilities impeccable. The site itself was very peaceful The staff are all very friendly both on site and at the 'The Bothy Restaurant'' - At the restaurant there was enough food served to feed an army so well worth every penny. Would recommend the lodge to anyone and we will certainly be visiting again - thank you again for a lovely stay Di n Dave

First of all, we really had a great holiday and have enjoyed every moment at Callow Lodge. Secondly, we want to thank you all, the staff were more than friendly and helpful indeed.

We stayed at the Lodge for three nights. It is located on Beaconsfield Farm Park, which is a mixture of caravans and the lodges, which are set around a lake. The property was very clean and warm. The private hot tub on the deck outside was lovely, and very novel in cold and frosty weather. We used the swimming pool and steam room (extra charge) which were excellent. The lodge is very well situated for exploring the Shropshire area. As mentioned in a previous review, the lodge is right by the busy A49, and the railway line, which were both noisy, so if you like to sleep with the window open, it is worth taking earplugs. Make sure you visit the Dog in the Lane pub is nearby Astley, which is a two mile walk away, and well worth a visit.

Rated by Mr Gleave reviewed on 6th June 2012

A very comfortable cottage, set in a convenient location for Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas. The only thing that we were slightly unhappy with was the proximity of the other cottages and the road noise from the a49. Having said this though, we had a great time and are considering booking another long weekend here.

Myself and my girlfriend visited the callow lodge in sept for a long weekend and were pleasantly surprised with the facilities both in the lodge and at the site. Being an adults only site was very good as the site was more relaxed and not packed out. Facilities within the lodge were very good and particularly the use of the private hot tub. The only downside I could possibly mention is the site didn't take credit/debit cards only cash which when they required £70 deposit + when we went out to eat at the on site restaurant which also required cash meant we required multiple trips out off site for cash.

A nice location on a quiet country park. A friendly site and the cabin was well situated. For those who like fishing, there are two well stocked lakes.
